Great B&B location with very comfortable rooms, lovely cooked breakfast and very friendly staff

Excellent communication ahead of check-in and easy process on arrival with access to parking. Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented. Drying room facility was excellent as our weather was wet

Amazing

Loved everything about this place. The hospitality was second to none. Our room was ready earlier than 4pm and we were contacted by the accommodation so able to check in early. Breakfast was amazing (we couldn't eat it all!!!). The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. It was a short walk from bars and restaurants. We couldn't have asked for more.

The car park could do with being a bit bigger but that didn't look like it was possible. It certainly didn't put us off wanting to return.

There was everything you needed for a walking weekend in the Lakes. Rohan is a delight, welcoming and attentive, the perfect host as were all staff. The location is excellent. The room was basic but had every need, was warm and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to doing so.

A wonderful weekend in Ambleside.

The location is the best thing along with the ability to park your car. The breakfast was fantastic, lots of options and quality food cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely and helpful. Great access to and from the property. Very clean and welcoming.

Being at the front of the property the traffic was noisy and kept us awake at night. We had to open the window during the day as the room was on the small side and extremely warm but due to the noise of the traffic we had to close it at night which was a bit of a catch 22. The bathroom was ok but again on the small side with no storage or shelving to house your toiletries. This sad, they are just minor points and we would definitely stay there again but in a room at the back of the building.

Great place to stay.

The Gables is a lovely place to stay. Welcoming and friendly staff. Rohan, the owner, friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and warm. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite shower was good with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The Gables is an easy walk to the town but in a quietNo location. There is parking which is a bonus for Ambleside, but it is tight. However a free pass for nearby parking is available. Happy to recommend this lovely guest house and would certainly stay there again.

Fantastic

The property was really lovely , especially the owner he was so welcoming & let us leave our car & check in early as the rooms were ready , we had room 11 top floor Mountain View , the traffic was very quiet at night . The breakfast was so good . Staff was friendly would definitely come to the gables again Thankyou for a lovely stay

The only thing I would have liked was a smart tv in the room as basic Chanel tv in our room .

Easy, stress free stay

Rohan is a darling man...saw us into the Gables early. A ground floor twin. Lovely and clean. Delightful prints, pictures and personal touches all over the room, reception and breakfast room. Lovely girl (who we think was Rohan's daughter) served us our very acceptable breakfast. Lovely stuff.

The property was very clean and we had a nice view of the park and fells in the background. Jacklin was fabulous. She made us very welcome every morning and would always have a chat with us. The location was great as the guest house is just up the road from the pubs and restaurants.

Absolutely wonderful! Great choice of eggs and everything that encompasses a full English. A special mention for Jacqui who makes the stay even more special, with her warm friendliness and amazing work ethic.

The location was excellent, staff very helpful we arrived early but could still check into our room which was good The bed was very comfortable and clean towels both days we stayed. Also always able to get a parking space.

I thought the room was very dated and in need of refurbishment. Didn't like the sink in the bedroom with carpet around it and not in the bathroom. The bathroom needed updating, Furniture was very old, tv very small

WiFi was terrible in our room 11. I moved the extender off the ground which made it marginally better but still not adequate to do anything. I had to go downstairs to get good reception. Just a nuisance.
