Breakfast was a bit basic but sufficiently wholesome before a long walk

A bit more de-mudding and hanging space for wet jackets etc would be a good idea for a b&b in the lake district to which we came for the outdoor and often wet pursuits.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were comfortable and warm on a particularly freezing cold night/morning. The staff were friendly and helpful; made us feel relaxed and welcome. The breakfast was amazing - great choice; fruit, yoghurt, croissants, toast and of course the cooked breakfast with plenty of tea/coffee/other.

Grateful to be able to have my son stay also. Confusion over paying for the extra room was unfortunate.

Showering was tough with faulty shower. For one night was ok though. No croissants which we ordered (I think!). Breakfast was not really our thing.

It’s in a great location and makes for a comfortable place to stay in the Lake District. The breakfasts were excellent, freshly prepared and cooked and with a fabulous vegetarian/vegan choice. The staff were all friendly

Location, the place and the vibe are amazing

The breakfast service - it was our first time. The lady taking the order didn't inform us about the “special “ breakfast. I only asked for poached eggs. She didn't ask how many eggs I wanted. I also asked about brown bread - no mention that it wasn't sourdough. I literally got one egg and a thin slice of toast. When I asked about one more egg, I got the answer “the chef is too busy now”. I appreciate that if anyone is coming a second time, they are aware of this sort of unpleasant, silent service, that the “special” option is next to the jam and marmalade section. That sourdough is only white, plus ask about two eggs if you only order eggs. However, we should at least be informed that we have the option of a different breakfast than full English, and if in any place I order poached eggs on toast, I'm asked how many, and 2 is the standard. So no matter how good you are - an unfriendly service will spoil the atmosphere.

Everything, from when we arrived the staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Location is great, waljabke access to Ambleside town and very tranquil set back off the main road. Breakfast was excellent, will definitely stay again? HIGHLY recommended.

Fantastic customer service from Mandie and the team. I’ve stayed in many hotels and the fact I felt so seen was lovely I was up graded offered tea on arrival and fantastic breakfast ( and I’m not vegetarian)

It was such a pleasant and comfortable stop along the way in a whirlwind first trip to England.

I loved it, it was a little different from my usual American breakfast. The coffee was also a pleasant suprise and I loved the homemade cookies and tea offerings in my room when I arrived after a long day of travel.

Ambleside Manor is a beautiful and welcoming B&B. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the rooms clean, cosy, and full of charm, and the vegetarian breakfast absolutely delicious. The Manor is ideally located just a short stroll from the town centre. Highly recommend for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Gorgeous old manor in beautiful grounds. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or attentive - great, friendly customer service. Breakfast was very good, very organised and the selection of teas/coffee/milk in the rooms was brilliant. Clean rooms with a comfy bed and the added bonus of a bath!

Sometimes struggled for space to park the car. The room itself was lovely but a bit dated - and had an adjoining door (locked) to the next room which bled a lot of noise.

Clean, large rooms with modern bathroom and powerful hot shower. Excellent vegetarian breakfast, pleasant staff who made gracious hosts. No trouble is too much for them.

Location was excellent. Large car park and slightly secluded from the town itself, but in very easy walking distance to all the facilities. Lovely grounds. Breakfast was very nice. Lovely cereal selection

TV signal - well, it didn't have any. I couldn't even watch BBC. TV needs an upgrade to Smart TV, so at least you have streaming services to use
