Only one sour point amongst many positives.

The overall experience was great. The accommodation was decent. The host Dennis was very helpful. Particularly loved the effort made by the host to make us comfortable, which was nice.

The only little downside is co-host Debbie, who did not seem to be a people person, or perhaps was a bit too reserved.

Lovely 2 night break, room was spotless and breakfast perfect

Central to Ambleside with free parking. Have stayed before but this time had the superior family room. Lovely big room, bathroom had bath as well as separate shower. Good selection at breakfast including vegan. Friendly hosts.

The location was brilliant, a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside. The room and entire was really nice and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was lovely.

Exceptional stay

Darren and Debbie were wonderful hosts and the breakfast selection vast, considering that they only cook for a few people every day. The room had all amenities one needs and what I particularly liked was their selection of teas and even hot chocolate in the room.

excellent stay,breakfast was superb choices spot on...we parked car and left it there every day didnt need to drive buses were great and not expensive so location of digs just right...host also let us check in early which was great help.....will come again and mention to friends.....

Great location and hosts with on-site parking

Perfect location with on-site parking. Wonderful friendly helpful hosts who provide a great breakfast. Everything was thought of and provided in the bedroom and bathroom. Although on the roadside we couldn't hear the traffic at all. Easy to walk to the shops, restaurants and pubs from here. So many lovely places to see close by.

It wasn't that we didn't like it but the bedroom is small and the bathroom compact. We were out all day so not a problem for us but if you need a large bathroom you may struggle.

Would definitely use this place again

Location was just 5 min away from the main street full of shops and restaurants. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. I was impressed to see so many different tea options in our room (usually places don't have any herbal teas - this one had several) and natural (non-toxic) soap and shower gel used by a local brand. The food selection was great. It was a better value for money than many AirBnB options we used before, which didn't even have breakfast included.

The mattress was slightly uncomfortable.
