The staff were extremely friendly, the rooms were modern and clean, and it is in a great location - only a 5/10 minute walk to Ambleside town centre.

Very comfortable enjoyable stay

The breakfast room was filled with natural light. The waitress was formally dressed and was very professional and caring. The bedroom was extremely spacious with a window and large ensuite. Very comfortable.

Good, about half a mile north of Ambleside. Easy to find. Parking on site. Good room and breakfasts. Helpful staff.

There is a gate to keep farm animals from roaming. When parking, you or your passenger have to open and shut this gate. Not really a problem.

Excellent location and facilities. Room spacious and well equipped. Had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb! Really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend a stay here. Easy walk into town for dinner at restaurants or pubs.

Unique guest house

We liked everything about it...from the location to the rooms. The breakfast menu was impressive and we enjoyed it so much. Andrew and Jill are very hospitable and made our stay very memorable. I would certainly recommend anyone to stay in this quiet and peaceful getaway.

Great Guest House!

The location was fantastic. It was just a short walk to town, down a long, leafy driveway providing total peace and quiet. The room was very comfortable. the breakfast in the morning was made to order and delicious. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Jill was a great hostess giving us lots of local tips for hikes, etc.

Amazing countryside stay!

The location is impossible to beat. Far enough out that it’s quiet and peaceful, but close enough to easily wander into the town of Ambleside or make your way to hiking paths without the need for a car. There is a bus stop that services the 555 and 599 lines a short 5-6 minute walk down the road, making even the surrounding areas of Grasmere, Keswick, Windermere, etc. commutable with ease.

The beds and pillows were a bit hard for my liking, but that’s entirely objective

Excellent value for money, centrally located within a half hour drive of most of the lakes

Located in the Rydal Valley and within easy walking distance of Ambleside. The Economy King-size room was spacious with seating, vanity table and a wardrobe. There was also a mini fridge although we switched it off to aid a more peaceful night's sleep without it's background noise. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom had modern fittings with a combined shower and bath. The breakfast was very good offering the Full English as well as vegan options.

The room could do with blackout blinds unless you enjoy starting your day early with the sunrise
