Excellent location, comfortable hotel

Lovely location. Modern rooms, very comfortable beds and also very clean. The place is right above their restaurant. I saw people made comments to the noise, but there was almost none. How can someone want to be so central in the city and yet don’t want to hear any noise? This place is great, right next to the cathedral.

Only thing was that there was no coffee machine in the room, however we got the complimentary drinks which made up for that, so nothing to complain actually. It was a kind gesture.

But sadly, it stops here: The accomodation was very simple. Scant furnishing, there was no telephone and no coffee pot in the room. Therefor, at over €200 per night this hotel is considerably OVERPRICED.

Excellent all around!

We had the apartment and it was spacious and incredibly clean! Had our own entrance which was wonderful. The location can’t be beat! We weren’t in the city long, but we saw a lot and were in awe of the cathedral! Seeing the Black Forest was amazing!

Great location, great food, friendly helpful staff

Great location, very clean. It was so warm our first night, temperatures in the 90s even with windows open. Staff was great at setting up a cooling system the next night, made the night much more comfortable for the kids.

The hotel is in an excellent location, tidy, and charming. It features a wonderful restaurant on the ground floor. The rooms have views of the cathedral and the square. It felt like home. I would certainly return there.

The fruits and vegetables weren't exactly the cleanest for the juice. Maybe not the best selection of fruits. The muesli wasn't very flavorful.

Welcoming hotel in traditional building yet with all mod cons and sound proof windows. Will be back for sure!

Clean, modern and well appointed rooms, very central location, sound proofed windows so we had only the convenience and pleasure of the daily market below the window without being woken up. Great breakfast as well. There is a lift.

Location is fabulous. Also, despite being in a great room facing the Freiburg Munster where there's a wonderful farmer's market early Sat morning, we didn't hear a thing. Was a nice touch to have a complimentary drink when we arrived esp. because it was a super hot day.Staff were lovely. Definitely can reccommend & will be back!

Wifi was quite slow. No minibar (not super important though) but complimentary water.

Perfect location right next to the ‘cathedral’, but best of all the friendly and helpful team running the place. Light and airy room, very quiet, and there’s a restaurant too. Felt very much at home.

Nice hotel in an ideal location

The location of this hotel can't be beat. It is directly on the main square across from the cathedral (something to be aware of if the bells might bother you! We enjoyed it but others might not), and centrally located to all of the major attractions. We stayed in the family apartment, which is in the same building but separate from the rest of the rooms. It has its own entrance and its own staircase. The apartment itself is not quite a full apartment - there is no kitchenette or anything - but has a nice little living room, three bedrooms, and a nice sized bathroom with two sinks. It's not overly luxurious, but our family of five was comfortable here. Check in was a bit confusing (there is no reception desk but rather you check in with the staff at the restaurant/bar) but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

If you're arriving by car, be aware that there is no parking on site and it's somewhat confusing because it's a pedestrian only zone (you in fact *can* pull up to the hotel to unload, but you can't linger or park there). There is public parking a few blocks away that was reasonably priced. Also be aware that there is no elevator to the family apartment, only a staircase. This was not a problem for us, but just know that it is not handicapped accessible.

A warm welcome to Freiburg

The staff was extremely gracious - they really made us feel welcome! Great location on the Cathedral square. The hotel has a an excellent restaurant on the ground floor, that serves typical regional food. We enjoyed a delicious meal here. Bathroom had heated floor, which was nice on a cold winter day. Breakfast buffet was very good.

Elevator only goes to 3rd floor- we had to carry bags up stairs to 4th floor.

Great location, friendly staff, but...

the hotel is in a great location. I found it very uncomfortable and not nice that the reception is inside the bar in a corner of the bar counter. Room: Nice, bright room. For cleaning just have to say that unfortunately we found hair in the bathroom, on the floor in the room and a couple in the bed. Furthermore, if we are talking about post covid-19 hygiene, as the hotel points out, a written band should be placed around the toilet indicating disinfection. Finally, I can say that the breakfast is quite good and with more options. The staff extremely courteous and helpful. I conclude by saying that I liked it, but 250 euros for 1 night, with these "services" and these shortcomings, is obviously exaggerated.

Very nice room very nice restaurant and a lovely breakfast was provided. The only negative would be the parking you need to park in the parking garage not far at 10E a day and bring your luggage to the hotel over cobblestones. That is not the fault of the hotel just information that could help. The other is its not got an Air-conditioner. A fan would be helpful even in October with the windows open the room was stuffy at night.
