Hotel Rappen am Münsterplatz

Location, extremely clean and updated. Even though it’s in a busy area, the new windows blocked out ALL of the noise. We were there for Freiburg Wein Fest and you’d never know! Air conditioning is a dream!

The breakfast was masterful with an abundance of choices. The staff was congenial and the location close to the cathedral was ideal.

The steps to the “third” floor room were somewhat surprising.

- The location is amazing; being so close to the Münster is very special - The rooms were spotless clean - The hotel is in an old building that is very well maintained, renovated at a high standard - The windows in our room insulated very well, which was very good given the church bells are quite loud and the Münsterplatz in general can be a bit noisy at nigh (judging based on the night we spent there) - The breakfast was amazing - there was a really good selection and everything was fresh; moreover, the breakfasy area is beautiful - The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and in general the place had a very nice atmosphere

- Our room was a bit too small *one thing to note is that the elevator goes up to the 3rd floor and if your room is on the 4th floor (like ours) you will need to use the stairs to go from the 3rd floor to the 4th. This did not bother us but is something to keep in mind.

Great location, extremely nice staff and a very good breakfast.

But sadly, it stops here: The accomodation was very simple. Scant furnishing, there was no telephone and no coffee pot in the room. Therefor, at over €200 per night this hotel is considerably OVERPRICED.
