Lovely stay in a good location.

The bedroom was attractive, clean, spacious and well appointed. The shower room was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a delicious evening meal and were very satisfied.

There was nothing we didn’t like but breakfast was more limited that we would expect.

Comfortable and quiet stay with easy check-in and convenient parking.

Check-in is relatively easy, parking is on the street but right in front of the hotel, the beds are comfortable, and the room is quiet.

The breakfast wasn’t very good, and the staff didn’t seem very friendly.

Perfect location, friendly staff.

The location of the property is perfect with a pedestrian path through the woods across the street and a bus stop right in front. The staff is friendly, welcoming and able to communicate with us English speakers. The bed was comfortable and we slept well with no disruptions. Breakfast was lovely. We would stay again. .

Not memorable, but ok.

Room was fine and breakfast good.

Bit dated though, and shame the restaurant was closed on the day I was there. Key self check-in is also not what's expected of a hotel, but it worked. Inattentive staff had me pay double for the room as already paid online. Took a while to get that sorted, but eventually they rectified the mistake.

Superb

We've stayed at Grüner Baum for 3 nights during our trip to Schwarzwald. It is located a little bit outside of city center, in a peaceful quite green zone, and with a beautiful view to hills/forest (at least from our window :) ). The room we had was big enough for 2 adults and a dog; the bed was very big and comfortable. NB: no fridge in the room, but it's OK. There is no AC (as in all places of Black Forest zone we've stayed in), but there's a fan, so you wouldn't die from the heat :) Anyway, the nights are pretty fresh there, as it's windy and the temperature gets around 18-20, so you won't need the AC. The breakfast is good, you have some varieties of cold cuts, cheese, fruits and veggies, juice, bread... and the most important thing - you got a really good coffee / cappuccino!!! The staff is super friendly and helpful!

A good base to explore the lower Rhine valley.

Although located in the suburbs of Freiburg , the integrated transport system (tram, bus, rail on 1 ticket) makes it easy to get around both the town and the lower reaches of the Black Forest ( a zone 3 day travel ticket is €9 per person). The property has a good restaurant with friendly staff.

Comfortable rooms, excellent food both in the restaurant and at breakfast, friendly staff. Restaurant in a lovely shady garden.

A small bottle of water was provided in the room but it had a crown cap and there was nothing to open it with!

Nice place to stay at

Breakfast is amazing, room was fine. A bit warm, but it is unusually hot.

Check-in was terrible. Everything was closed at 5pm and the number indicated to call didn‘t pick up. After searching and waiting in the heat, another paper was found with another phone number on a different side door. Then we got the code to the key.

The best accommodation in our 3 week road trip. Warm & friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Everything! spotlessly clean & spacious. Very comfortable. All staff charming & went out of their way to be helpful. Had 2 dinners on the terrace which were excellent! Breakfast included made it very good value for money. A delightful 2 day stop over.

Air conditioning would have made it perfect but the fans were a good compromise.

On the whole, stay was nice.

The balcony facing the nice mountain scenery & a small vineyard. Breakfast was good. Could take a nice morning walk around the neighborhood and saw the vineyard, a beautiful cemetery, a plot of vege patch.

The pillow was too flat, room was facing the road and traffic was a bit noisy but the window screen filtered out much of the noise.

Good value for money accommodation. Breakfast very correct, staff is nice as well. To go to the city, o lo need to get the tram, 10 min. away by walk.
