Lovely eco hotel

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel has great eco credentials and well designed. They also provided free travel card to use on public transport. Great location right next to tram stop so only approx. 15mins into town and train station, also near a nice coffee shop, restaurant and a couple of bakeries and supermarket. Breakfast had good variety and rooms were clean and temperature controlled which was great for August heatwave!

Great place, affordable, clean and I was impressed overall. I'd definitely stay there again.

Everything was clean and I loved the basement with all the additional food, drink, utensils, washing/drying machines, etc. Figuring out the washing/drying app was the only hiccup, but that's a small detail that didn't take away from the overall experience.

I thought the automated check-in experience could have been more clear. It wasn't obvious, to me anyway, that I needed to put a blank key into the machine first before following the steps to create it. Others may not have this same problem.

A peaceful and pleasant stay with kind staff, great comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Green City Hotel Vauban. The hotel is impeccably clean and located in a peaceful, eco-friendly neighborhood. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. The location is excellent—just a short tram ride from the city center, with tram line 4 stopping right outside the hotel and running frequently. The rooms are modern, quiet, and thoughtfully designed. The beds and mattresses were extremely comfortable—I slept wonderfully every night. The sound insulation is excellent, though the neighborhood itself is already very calm and quiet.

If I may suggest one small improvement, perhaps the price of breakfast could be slightly lowered to make it more accessible for all guests.

Very friendly staff, all over the hotel. Convenient location, free tram to city center just outside the door Our room( apartment) was very big with a huge livingroom, two bedrooms, bathroom and also separat toilet and a nice terrace with nice furniture. The style was simple, so you will not find cozy interior and stylish furniture, but everyhing was clean, the beds were comfortable and the look was green and " ecological".. Good breakfast( not fantastic, but good enough) We would chose this hotel again

Staff charming and helpful, breakfast very good, room very practical and clean. The tram to the town center is just outside the door.

Too bad there is no restaurant around. The hand shower is design, but not very practical. Pillows a little hard.

I like the idea of sustainable hotel with the inclusiveness concept. Ideal location right next to tram stop. Located in Vauban - the best sustainable, car-free, quiet, green district in the world. Few minutes to the city centre of Freiburg and main train station by tram.

Wardrobes in rooms are almost impossible to open as they have no holders. Breakfast is fine but 16 euros is expensive for such a simple breakfast. Right next to the hotel is good and cheap bakery.

Breakfast was good as reasonable variety of foods although cooked vegetables had rather dried out on the first morning by 9am but generally fine. Real coffee would have been nice to have. Good location and free travel pass is just fabulous given Freiburg’s international sustainability record and the extensive tram system,. Could you ever offer guests loan bikes? We did ask before arrival and with information on cycling in Black Forest we could have chosen that option ( an original plan for our 3 nights in Freiburg)
