A nice but rather expensive hotel

Nice thermal swimming pools, spacious and with pleasant water temperature. Valued the fact that the facilities were opened till 9pm.

In one of our connecting rooms (the invalid room) the shower was smelly, the shower hand was broken, the faucet in the sink was poorly installed and splashed water. The breakfast was not included in the room price, besides initial price was mentioned as €22pp, but the price was increased to €28 pp as of January 1 without any pre-warning.

Very relaxing

The hotel is modern, calm and set in beautiful woodland. Everything is very clean and the breakfast was very good. The covered connection to the spa is obviously a huge bonus!

We appreciated a lot the nature and we did a lot of walks arounds, so we could relaxing.

Breakfast was very good

The informations were not clears: The hours of service of breakfast changed during the working days, but we did’t know and then the cook were upset with us . Every time we ask a questions to the staff of the restaurant they could not answer or they needed to ask somebody else. The waitress were not professional and were not well organized. We were very disappointed that the sauna were not included in the offer of the SPA and that the fitness center closed so early.

People were nice, but lack of air-conditioning in summer was a downfall and the food was mediocre

Staff was nice but there seemed to be a lack of management.

The rooms weren't air-conditioned and the weather during our stay was at least 95 Fahrenheit or33 Celsius. The public areas were air-conditioned but the rooms only had portable fans and no cross ventilation. It was stifling! Also, the lunch and dinner menu was exactly the same every day. After 5 days of the same limited alternatives it became very boring.

We came in high summer and got a top floor room. It was really hot, even with the fan.

The perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend in the Black Forest !

Everything was great and extremely convenient for the location, from free parking, to a very large variety breakfast, offering all sorts of delicious choices, for all tastes. In addition, enjoying you meal while sipping on your morning coffee view a garden view and listening to the birds singing, what else ? We had a comfortable room and direct passage to very nice, clean and modern thermal baths, that we enjoyed all our stays. My husband and I were in a high need of a relaxing long-weekend and this hotel met all our expectations. Not to forget about the nice staff (who by the way speaks very good English) and the very friendly night barman (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name) who made sure we were well served and enjoyed an evening drink in the coziness of the place. Tip: if you’re a beer lover, make sure to order a Freiburger beer (which is a local beer that’s very tasty).

The room we got to book didn’t have A/C on and the nights (even in the Black Forest) tended to get a bit hot for a comfortable sleep. However, the hotel staff made sure they found a solution for that as well and placed an electric fan to cool down during the night.

Superb

I was delighted with my stay this time. I think it is excellent that the Therme (pool) price is now included in the room price. I also appreciated the possibility of using the big gym/therapy room. The latter is a bit overheated as is the pool, but this is understandable due to their primary use (therapy, relaxation). I was always happy with the rooms also during my stays in the past. Very good service at the bar the evening I ate there.

Just be aware that the water in the pool is very warm (for lane swimming) as is the big exercise room/ gym - but that is understandable (see above). Thus, for cardio exercise, I recommend a bike tour or a run/walk in the woods around the hotel.

There is no spa

There is woods around the hotel which are beautiful

It’s a full on scam compared to the pictures. The hotel has no Spa. It is located next to a public pool which is incredibly crowded, and as a hotel guest you have access but it is unrecognizable from the pictures and there are full on school classes running around there. The restaurant was serving what felt like prepackaged food and an incredibly overpriced rate, and the staff is nice but slow and not very helpful.

Comfy stay

The Hotel had good parking, breakfast was good and also the fact that it connected to the thermals is great.

We had to purchase water for our room, as there was no complimentary water. And the hotel staff brought it form the kitchen, and then I saw that one bottle has already been opened. The dinner at the restaurant was not good and the staff was really slow, many tables that came later than us have already been served, but we had to wait for a long time.
