This is a very old and outdated hotel. However, that being said, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice as well. It is also located in a great walkable area.

The room felt like it was back from the 60s with shag carpets that I didn’t trust. The bed was not comfortable and squeaky. No air conditioning but with window open the noise was excessive. The front desk lady was not pleasant at check in but at check out, we had a different lady who was very sweet.

Pleasant stay overall! Very clean and comfortable except that the beds were very very firm/hard. Also the A/C seems more like a fan than traditional cooling. Fortunately the weather was cool and breezy so we were able to open the windows.

Even though I only had a small room with a small bed, and that's what I wanted, it was very spacious and had everything you could possibly need. I could really tell that the staff understands travelers and what they are looking for when they check in exhausted after long train rides or flights. It was a convenient ride from the HBF, not quite in the main business district, so not as noisy even though I was right on a main street. I had a lot of luggage and a small dog. The facilities were perfect. There was a full-length mirror to check the damage after a day of walking, the shower was divine, the drinking water tasted delicious right out of the tap, and the room was spacious and very comfortable, I didn't feel cramped at all. Short walks revealed lots of coffee shops and places to buy snacks. It was also a very convenient 25-minute walk on pedestrian walkways to the Europcar outlet. They held my baggage for me for a few hours while I was picking up my car and exploring the neighborhood. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and it looks like I probably will on my way back! Strongly recommended. For the same price in the US, in a small city, you would be hard-pressed to find such a clean and convenient hotel. The bar and restaurant looked inviting, so next time I will visit. Everything you need is right there! We loved it!

Staff very nice. Parking very good. BUT…Room 354 sad…it was awful, old terrible fixtures/fittings very worn, very hard single mattresses pushed together for a double (first time I’ve had a back ache from a hotel) Horrible really nasty thick very very old carpet. Probably very high end 30 years ago! Sadly in our room zero investment made. No coffee/tea facilities. Tiny shower. Thin, hard towels. Stayed in 5 hotels in Germany similar price but so much better. I think maybe there are some rooms updated as ours was hideous but the pictures on the website looked ok… NOT room 354. Would not recommend, much better choices available.

My second stay here. Came back for the restaurant. Unfortunately this time i was physically threatened by the waiter - twice - first in the restaurant and then in the reception. I will not be back.

Fabulous friendly hotel. We stayed in a brand new room which was clean, comfortable and spacious. €10 for an Über to the Altstadt. Parking is opposite the main entrance or under the hotel.

The check in person was rude - first impressions mean a lot but it may have been a cooncidence, until we checked out - 100% rude and it was another person. There is an AC control in the room but absolutely no AC. I would never stay here in the summer months.

The staff is very friendly and professional. The building is a bit outdated, as are some of the rooms. Our room was comfortable but had long sienna brown shag carpet throughout. The back garden has been given over to construction materials as it seems they were at one point updating part of the building (scaffolding remains). The parking was very convenient and there is a bus stop immediately in front that takes you downtown (about 30 minutes away). The breakfast was a good value. Dinner was good but overpriced.

Very nice room, and friendly staff. There was a bus stop right outside to get downtown. A lovely little bakery across the street, as well as a bank with a secure ATM across another street.

The restaurant is very nice and serves good food at reasonable prices, however it can get very busy. We stayed here for 7 nights, on our first night we asked to be moved as the room was very old fashioned and not very clean, we were moved to a refurbished room, without carpets, which was much better. Many of the rooms and communal areas are badly in need of refurbishment.
