Guest House Malkia Inter

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful location and a very helpful staff

The bathrooms were questionable.

Malkia Inter was a gem in the heart of Veliko Tarnovo. I truly felt like a princess on my balcony overlooking the town. They offered great vegan options, so I always had something tasty during my three-night stay. But honestly, what stood out the most was how the staff went above and beyond to help me find a taxi—definitely the biggest challenge of my Bulgarian journey! The hotel's design really stood out—eclectic and vintage in the best way. As a designer, I couldn’t help but appreciate all those unique details. It added a lot of charm and character to the whole experience!

This is an old school building and apartment. If u want to feel “back in the day” stay here. Beautiful creaky staircase. I felt like Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment. Sparse, but enough. Definitely check out the accompanying restaurant adjacent to the room.

Bathroom/ toilet setup not most wonderful, but it all works, problem. For the price point it’s ok

A very charming and authentic old house with a unique, almost museum-like atmosphere. The paintings, antique furniture and decoration give the place a lot of character, and it looks very much like the photos. The location is excellent for exploring Veliko Tarnovo.

The bathroom is extremely basic and would benefit from renovation. There is no proper shower area or enclosure, just a shower hose and the tiled floor. Also, two sets of bed linen had not been changed when we arrived. Once we informed the staff, they changed them, so the issue was resolved. Communication could also be improved, as our Booking messages and phone calls were not answered.
