Lovely great friendly pub. We stayed here for 1 night while walking the cotswolds way, 35mins off the trail, but not a problem..Staff were very welcoming, and food with limited menu, but great, just what we needed after a long walk

The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. The landlady cooked us pizza in the evening as we were doing the Cotswold way and there was nowhere else to eat nearby.
We felt the price of £114 without breakfast was extortionate compared with what we’d paid in other places which were actually on the Cotswolds Way.
The room was very hot and there were no fans and the windows only opened a little as the blind had been put up right in front of them.

Although they don't normally serve food on a Tuesday, as the darts team had a match and they had arranged for their chef to be in they asked if she would be prepared to cook for us too which was super kind. Beware, the pizzas are vast but also very tasty.
Although the rooms were clean, we understand that it is under new ownership / management and there are some maintenance issues to be resolved. But the bed was comfy, the shower room clean, albeit with a wobbly toilet seat and a bolt instead of a handle on the shower tap. Also a window that needs fixing and a sink in the kitchenette needs plumbing in. The view was to die for though!

Staff were kind, protective and efficient.
The location of the Star Inn was beautiful, surrounded by breath taking views and scenery.
Located just above the top of Stroud with everything being a small distance or commute.
The room we stayed in wasn't great value for money and feel although we have been over priced for what we payed.
The room wasn't clean at all, and felt & looked like it hadn't had a good clean in a while... it was extremely dirty and expensive for the price we paid. We left feeling unclean, dirty and unsatisfied with our overall stay.
