Bed was hard and noise from car park and the bar was noisy that it woke me up and television was stuck on one channel.

Small & bijou 🙄

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Very hot water (for all you wet shavers). Beautiful meal in the restaurant

A minor point - we booked the small double room and it was exactly that. If you are of the 'large' variety this is NOT the room for you. The heated towel rail (which get very hot) is right by the toilet, so make sure your towels are on the rail before positioning yourself on the throne! There's no blind in the bathroom and even the the window is obscured...it doesn't leave much to the imagination if your sat in the carpark!

Satisfactory for the wedding weekend we were attending

The staff were friendly and the pub was close to the venue we needed to visit at the weekend. The bed was comfortable. Linen and towels were also good.

Breakfast had a good selection, however the coffee was limited and also not particularly good. The bar ran out of ice on a Saturday night which is not brilliant! Toiletries were sub standard for a 4 star rating. Carpets could do with a good clean.

A good bed and great breakfast.

There was space to park, the room was modern, clean, uncluttered and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent value, help yourself to continental breakfast including fruit juices, cereals, pastries, yogurt, fruit, etc and then order a cooked breakfast from the menu anything from a full english to eggs royale. There was a good variety of options on the dinner menu and prices were reasonable too.

The en-suite shower cubicle was a little small.

The staff and a lovely welcome. Nothing was to much trouble 👍 everything I asked for was catered for especially the request of lower ground room which was clean and tidy and the mattress and pillows were A+++++++ I was travelling with my elderly mother and access to and from our room was easy for her . The food was exceptional and not a microwave ping did we hear 👌everything freshly made and as I am Coeliac the staff guided me through the menu and wow I was spoilt. Thank you Marc and all your staff for your lovely welcome and we will be back💯

Pleasant stay, wouldn’t want to stay more than a night or two.

Very Clean and very tidy, staff always busy and main bar and restaurant always looked good. Also it is a beautiful old building

We were in room 2. The corridor going past our room was quite busy early in the morning as people went about. The main corridor door, a fire door has a very noisy hinge which we heard every time someone walked through. This aside I think the property needs more ‘quiet notices around the place to make people think. Some of us are on holiday and don’t want to be up at the crack of dawn. The shower in our room was tiny, my husband (who is of large build, but not fat] could hardly move in it.

The inside of the main bar was very well laid out . Shame the rest of the hotel and bars with more original features were underr restoration .

The small double was very small. Had to negotiate small gaps between bed and wardrobe and bed and window. Banged legs on bed frame numerous times. Should be reconfigured or made a single. No grab rail in shower. The pub had a large garden at the front but was on a main road so a fair amount of passing traffic.

Great place to stay for a short weekend

Lovely pub with good quality food. The room we had was a small double and it was compact but very clean and comfortable and just what we needed for our short stay. Staff were all very friendly too.

Would have like a little later for check out but 10.30 is pretty standard so no big complaint there.

Overall a good stay, I’d be happy to stay again in a quieter room.

Everything was lovely.

My only issue was the staff chatting on the stairs by my room (room 6). I tried to have a late morning nap and I could hear the staff talking outside even with my earplugs.

What a lovely looking building which did not disappoint inside. Nice gravel carpark that for those of us look after our semi vintage cars don't have to worry about modern silly small painted bays. Good quality food in the restaurant. Comfy bed.

Slightly compact room for the price. Didnt like the feel of checking in on a non personal touch screen device that gave the impression it was searching from a marketing point of view as there was quite a few questions to answer so this is not the way forward to make some customers feel comfortable and is not very welcoming to others

Beautiful property, shame the decor in the bar was not more ambient.

The room was ok, shower had not been cleaned properly mould in the shower, large cracks on the skirting boards. when I clearly booked for two people they supplied one bath towel and one hand towel. Food was expensive, drinks were expensive too. Bar closed when food ended even for residents. The staff were vacant most of the time and ignored customers. Not very impressed. Spoke to another guest who said it was a return visit for them and they thought it was amazing the first time but were very disappointed this time.
