Great location and easy parking. Friendly and courteous staff who were helpful in recommending wineries. Steep stairs might be an issue for some. Nice meal at dinner. We didn't have breakfast as we felt it was a bit overpriced. Would stay again

Excellent spot if you are walking Cotswold Way or just want to visit beautiful Cotswold village.

Superb location as we were intending to walk Cotswold Way.

Enjoyed our stay, it was a shame it was a a let down on the a couple of points

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Evening meal was lovely. Extremely dog friendly. Generally a lovely pub. Breakfast on the first morning was excellent.

Room was a bit worn and in need of tlc and updating for the money charged. Room was very cold, heating only appeared to come on in the middle of the night making it uncomfortable to sleep as too hot but cold when wanting to shower and get ready. Plumbing made quite a noise when other guest were using showers, we presume, or flushing toilets. Breakfast on the second morning was very disappointing. Ordered the sausage breakfast sandwich, sausages over cooked and dry, and came on a dry burnt brioche bun (was expecting a fresh bap or crusty cob, not a dry burger bun)

Lovely staff and setting. Very handy car park. Bed was also very comfy.

The wifi in my room was shocking, so had to go to the main pub to join a number of work calls. The shower pressure was also not great. Considering the price, I'd expect good wifi in all rooms.

Lovely old Inn in the "Queen of the Cotswolds"

Great location in the centre of Painswick, a beautiful village. The Falcon has a nice feel to it; we had good pub dinner when we arrived. The room was spacious and comfy (we stayed upstairs in room 10) with high ceilings and a big comfy bed and was very private and quiet. The staff were friendly and we're helping in changing the bedding as we had requested hypoallergenic bedding via booking.com but they hadn't received this message. The breakfast was also good - selection of pastry, granola, yogurt and juice buffet style and then and a choice of freshly prepared hot breakfast. The village church with it's many Yew trees is immediately opposite the Inn and some shops and cafes just a few minutes walk in the road. There's a car park behind the inn.

Nice dog walking break with great food

Friendly staff. Meal first night was great, we ate 3 different breakfasts, all really good. Bed was comfortable and room a good size and clean. Parking available. Taking the dog over the road for his morning and evening potty breaks. Within walking distance to the Cotswolds way.

It was a bit warm in the room so I kept waking up at times but otherwise good. The shower was clean and a good size but I would have liked the pressure to be better.

A fabulous pub but bedrooms can be hit and miss!

Fantastic location and very kind staff who went out of their way to help

Our bedroom was very small and dark, with mould in the shower and not enough plugs. We paid a lot for the room and the photos of the bedroom on the website suggested they are all really beautiful, when actually our bedroom was not luxurious at all

Situated in a lovely village

It was sold as a delux room but is was only average and based in the attic space. The Smart TV in the room was not connected to the internet so we were limited to terrestrial channels.

Grossly overpriced

Room was called deluxe double but it was small and en-suite was tiny. Shower was very small. Room was top floor and very hot even though not an exceptionally hot day. The fan in the room was too noisy to have on at night. The main light in room didn’t go off - so could only lower dimmer. Overall, very, very expensive and not good value for money. Breakfast not even included, which would have made price more acceptable. Dinner overpriced too. We had stayed in hotels in Winchcombe and Cheltenham the two previous evenings and they were almost half the price and more comfortable and better dinner/breakfast. We were prepared to pay this price but expected it to be something special, which it wasn’t.

Cotswold Way - Great stop for an evening!

Our group of three was walking the Cotswold Way. The hotel was nicely located and had a great onsite restaurant and bar - great selection of appetizers and beverages. Our group really enjoyed the outside facilities, we were there during an unusually warm summer day. The staff was very helpful, and kind. Our rooms were located on the top floor and the staff was kind enough to carry our suitcases up the two flights of stairs for us and place them outside our rooms. We had arrived before check in and the staff was able to accommodate us and let us check in about an hour before the allotted check in time. The beds were quite comfortable and the room had many amenities we enjoyed - the tea/coffee arrangements especially. Overall, we had a quick and pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel as a stop for anyone walking the Cotswold Way.

The downside, and not the hotels fault entirely, there was no air conditioning. We were located on the third floor that had very restricted window openings. We were given an extra fan to help with air circulation but it barely made a difference. Included is a photo of the slight window opening.

Perfectly located comfortable stay in centre of charming Painswick with own carpark.

Staff were all friendly & efficient offering to carry luggage. Location in centre of Painswick opposite the pretty churchyard was perfect for exploring the village. Our Deluxe Double Room on the top (1st) floor at the rear of the building) didn’t have the views over the churchyard the front rooms would have had but had pleasant outlook & was very quiet so we got a good night’s sleep. It was a very last minute booking so the hotel was almost full. The bed was huge & good bathroom. A fan is provided in case the weather is hot but we didn’t need. Dinner was delicious & reasonably priced. We didn’t have breakfast. We only stayed one night but would be a good base for several nights.

Everything perfect except would prefer flatter pillows as they were too high & firm for me. Not a problem though as I always travel with my own low profile pillow & my husband was happy with the pillows.

For a deluxe double room, it wasn't shabby chic (which seems to be the theme of the Inn) it was just shabby with very limited ventilation. The shower cubicle was ridiculously small, the hand basin tiny with no room to put soap/handwash and no convenient space to put toiletries.

Beautiful old Inn in a beautiful town

Beautiful building in a beautiful town. Our room was lovely with a nice shower room. Breakfast was very good and so was the coffee. And the biggest asset here is Dan, he works so hard and tackles everything with a smile and a polite demeanor.

The bed...The bed was so uncomfortable that I personally slept on the floor. My wife didn't mind as she had the bed to herself. Trust me, the floor was more comfortable than this lumpy, bouncy and sqeaky bed in the room called (something) chardonnay. It was the cheapest room available for a 1 night stopover so I didn't complain.

The WORST accommodation in the UK-truly awful

The worst accommodation I have EVER STAYED IN. The Falcon Inn should be ashamed of themselves selling this room (called Skye Chardonnay) It was the hottest day of the year and there is no air con, no fan and the road noise means the windows can't be left open. The window didn't even fit properly-so shabby. The TV isn't connected to anything and doesn't work. Frankly this place is a disgrace and if you are sold the 'Skye Chardonnay' room-my advice is WALK AWAY AND DEMAND A REFUND. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. Their reply to this review will be the usual bland nonsense (if they even bother to reply). IGNORE THEIR PLATITUDES and stay ANYWHERE else but here.

Tranquil spot, nice food and wine,

Lovely peaceful location, paint peeling in bathroom and bedroom wall, in need of a little tlc, bar man in charge was lovely and attentive, younger staff needed more training in hospitality, overall beautiful food, nice quiet location would return again.

Hard mattress, too firm for my liking would need a mattress topper to be available.

Great location for a rest day, halfway through our walk on the Cotswold Way

Staff was extremely helpful, offering to carry our suitcases to our room and providing directions to grab the bus for a day trip. Dinner was good, shared a burger and a tomato tart - both were delicious - breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items. The view of the church from our room was stunning.

Good hotel. We stayed while walking the Cotswold Way

Breakfast was good, but the service was painfully slow

The slow service at breakfast was annoying as we had a long walk and wanted to get an early start. The restaurant food is quality rather than quantity, which is a bit disappointing after a long days walking. I think they should gear themselves up more for walkers, as most people there were on walking holidays.
