Warm, comfortable, great food and looked after by an amazing team

This is our third stay here at the Old Lodge over the years and once more it did not disappoint. There was a minor mix up with the room (more a Booking.com issue to be fair) but this was so speedily and positively dealt with by the team and in such a generous way. The team at the Old Lodge are just amazing. They really care about their customers and are just so lovely. Such a credit to the Old Lodge. The food there is amazing too. We are both vegan and were just so appreciative of the fact that they dealt with this without the slightest flinch like some places might. Even down to knowing exactly what wines were suitable. We ate dinner there and also had the breakfast the next morning and really appreciated the homemade qualities of it all. The location is excellent with the peace and quiet of the common, but enough of a buzz to enjoy too. Then a quick drop down to Stroud to enjoy the excellent Farmers Market. Overall, a warm, comfortable stay where we really felt we were looked after.

Lovely location. Good food, very cosy atmosphere in the main area & excellent staff. Breakfast menu was really good.

Unfortunately the bed was not very comfortable - very thin mattress & pillows.

Fantastic, would recommend.

Location was excellent, staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The food was incredible especially the full breakfast and the squid starter on the evening meal.

Shower in room had pressure issues and sometimes stopped mid shower.

The Old Lodge is situated high on the Common with great views. It is a popular destination but extremely warm and friendly. The staff were very warm, welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and well served.

The food was lovely. The bedroom was spacious and comfy and the shower was good.

In the morning for breakfast it was a bit confusing where to go etc. But when someone came in we were seated promptly and the food was great

Couple visit overnight

This was a lovely area and room. The bar was cosy and relaxed with a good selection, dogs were welcome. We stayed one night comfortable room, spacious and clean. Old building a little creaky but gave it character. Had breakfast included, great selection and local produce, very enjoyable. Would recommend and visit again if local. (Purpose of visit was a birthday gift for an overnight stay and visit to local Inn famous for 2 in 1 pie) found the old lodge on booking.com while searching and was impressed with the look, price, facilities and reviews and it met my requirements.

Location was amazing. Very unique! Nice and quiet to sleep and Very comfy beds! Also loved the breakfast, one of the best cooked breakfasts we’ve had in a hotel!

Parking at the hotel. Due to hotel being on a golf course parking seemed very limited and we had to park in the mud which wasn’t ideal when dressed for a wedding. Luckily it was frosty the next day but if it was wetter we would have struggled to get the car out.

Our particular bathroom on this stay was small and had no heating - so was cold in late December.

Bathroom was a little dated. Flaking paint in shower cubicle & now where to put toiletries whilst showering. Toilet seat was unstable due to worn rubber on one side.

One night stay for family event

A very good snack lunch served quickly and efficiently before us going out to a family event. Very good attentive staff. Good sensible breakfast selection. Beds very comfortable. Hotel is quiet in the morning....no fans, deliveries etc etc etc. Standard double is fine, if you like more room I'd go for the superior Being on the common you can have a bit of a stroll with great views when you fancy it

Beautiful building with the best staff!

Location of the property was idyllic. Quiet and surrounded by beautiful scenery, including golfers and cows! Beautiful building with plenty of charm and although it was dog friendly, you would never guess as the rooms showed no sign of dog use. The restaurant was superb, incredible food both for dinner and breakfast, can’t recommend enough. Best of all was the staff, who were so friendly, helpful and accommodating throughout our stay, thank you for your hospitality. Will be staying again and recommending to everyone I know!

Quirky and cosy

Very homely cosy hotel. Food was delicious very quirky just as you would expect in a really old building in the Cotswolds.

I wouldnt say there was anything we didnt like! A lot of people may find it a bit remote without a car but it is a beautiful area

A great location if you like dog walking and golf. Plenty of parking, the rooms are a good size and are clean. A very good bar and restaurant. Breakfast is excellent

Bedroom was very small, double bed pushed up against the wall which meant I had to clamber over my husband to get up in the night!

Good value lovely stuff and good breakfast

Staff were all very polite and friendly the food was good including breakfast. The bed was a little uncomfortable but still had a good night's sleep would definitely Italy return. Generous tea and coffee making facilities.

The bed mattress could have been a bit thicker.
