Good location
Smelly and damp room.

Staff were amazing
Bar was a good size
Room was a reasonable size but needed a good clean.
The bathroom sink tap was disgusting though, black slime/mould inside the tap and lumps fell out while running the water

The location was excellent as was the decor.
Lack of car parking.
The staff were friendly & helpful, but seemed a little overstretched, partcularly during dinner on the first evening.
We ate elsewhere on the second evening, far more relaxing & romantic.

This place is an absolute gem. For the price I paid I wasn't expecting it to be as fabulous as the website photos portrayed - I was wrong! From the outside space, to reception, to the bar and my room it was all so lovely. Not going to lie, I absolutely felt like a bit of a princess in my room. I ventured down to the bar for dinner and was not disappointed. The staff were polite and attentive, food service was very fast, and the food itself was so yummy.
Loved my whole experience and will definitely book again if I'm back in the area. Highly recommend.
This is just personal preference, and in no way any kind of negative reflection on my stay, but for me the mattress was a little to hard and the pillows to soft. I'm a soft mattress, hard pillows girl. But like I said that's just my personal preference and I'm sure somebody else would love that combo.
Saying that, if all the beds were like this it still wouldn't deter me from staying again.

Lovely room and beautiful colours and decoration.
A bit tired, scuffed, and worn in many places.

The bed was comfy, parking was close
I felt very judged by the staff, the bath had a mirror cover on the side and it was damaged, the corner of the bed was broken, the table in the room wobbles when you walk near it, we phoned up about bring our dog and they said that was fine, then we got there and they wanted an extra £25 but nothing was said on the phone about that, got told he had the be quite, he’s a dog he barks he barks

The room was haunted by a wild animal, that attacked me in the night!

Lovely looking property with very friendly staff.
It's and old building so the noise travels, I could frequently hear the other guests.
The shower needed to run for about 10 minutes before hot water came through, not knowing this I ended up having a cold shower.

Friendly staff
Good location
Good selection of wine & other beverages
Good walks within 5 minutes
Unaware of dog fee (despite ringing before)
Cold/ broken shower
Food at restaurant was overpriced for what it was, with long wait times for food even in quiet periods

Great pub/restaurant with good food. A cosy place
I paid for a non refundable room but changeable date if needed with Booking.com(called semi-flexible) which I screen shotted. Once I had paid it said not changeable. I could have got a better room on another site for what I paid. This was Booking.coms fault not the hotel, the hotel said they couldn’t help. Fortunately I didn’t need to change the date, but I regret not getting a better room with the other site

Friendly staff
The room was expensive for what it was. The king size bed was two singles pushed together which was really uncomfortable with the join in the middle. The bed was shorter than most and our feet hung over the end of the bed despite us not being excessively tall. There were no dog treats etc in the room which is the first time we’ve experienced this in a dog friendly room.

Great location & the young man who checked us in and worked in the bar was extremely helpful and friendly. He carried our bags to our room (we were on the top floor). Bedroom cosy but quite cold during the night. Comfortable bed and good shower.
The restaurant was just ok, very pricey for what we got. Restaurant Manager was friendly and it had a good ambiance. However the bar prices were unreal! £9 for a glass of mulled wine & over £7 for a pint of Guinness ! Other people also mentioned this and never stayed for a second round. Shame!

Leaving
The rude staff, the sloppy and cafe presented food by an apparently Michelin Star trained chef, who when came out from his kitchen came across extremely aggressive and didn’t appreciate constructive criticism about his work.

The location and setting were lovely
We paid extra for a superior room, which was more like a garage. We got took through to the room, and was greeted by a building site directly outside. Boarded up with a door, that was secured by a piece of rope on a nail. Causing it to bang all night. We had kitchen staff going back and forth, with nothing but a measly curtain for privacy on an entire glass fronted door. The room itself had damp patches all over the place, and also smelt of damp. Overall it wasn't pleasant or comfortable. The staff could also do with some hospitality training to not discuss how they're going to be going out and getting "steaming"

This hotel is in a great position in the centre of Tetbury.
Although the parking is at a premium there is a pay car park close by and 5-10 minutes by foot there is a free car park.
By accident I booked a twin room instead of a double room.
On arrival the staff Luke (the manager) and the bar staff seemed quite friendly.
We went by the stairs (no lift) to room 16 on the 2nd floor.
On opening the door 3pm the room was boiling and the window was full of condensation. There was two single beds squashed in corners and when in bed it was impossible to sit up and read.
We turned the radiator off as one of us did not want to get burnt when the radiator was on.
We had 2pillows each and the bed linen was white, lovely and crisp and clean.
We put the pillows at the bottom of the bed and slept with our feet near the headboard as we did not want to get up in the night and hit our heads on the sloping ceiling. We felt sorry for the staff who cleaned the rooms as they would have had to pull both beds out, maybe even move some other furniture in order to change the beds.
We were only staying one night so didn’t have much luggage. The room felt claustrophobic I’m glad we didn’t have a suitcase.
The toilet seemed dirty so I went to use the toilet brush to clean it but the handle came off and the brush was stuck in the holder.
There was a small extractor fan that came on when you put the shower room light on but after one shower the room was steamed up.
On opening the blind early the next morning condensation was dripping off the window.
In the bar area the windows were full of condensation and it was even on the dado rail.
This twin room would have been more suited to a single travelling guest with the bed being able to be situated in a different position.

The staff were lovely and the room was very nice!!
The sound proofing wasn’t very good. I could hear people walking all around. The bathroom could have been cleaner.

Our room although decorated to a high standard and comfortable I felt the bathroom let it down a tad, the shower was a little tired but this wouldn’t stop me from staying there again!!

Lovely room and friendly morning receptionist. The hotel is old fashioned and cosy with a lovely bar and great central town location
Bar prices were extortionate and car parking is difficult

It was very central in Tetbury itself! Easy to find. Our room no.11 was nice and cosy with everything we needed! Bathroom was great! With lovely extra touches like Shampoo & Conditioner,Cotton/Wool etc. Lovely Crisp White sheets, excellent sized wall mounted t.v & Coffee/Tea making facilities. Fresh Colours & tactfully decorated.
The room could have done with information with the WiFi code. Just a small business sized card or a plaque. We had to trot down to the bar area to ask a member if staff for it! Could have been avoided really. Also a £100 damages/theft fee was taken OUT of my Bank Account. We were asked for Bank Card on arrival, but there was no mention of actually taking monies out of my Bank Account. I understand why,& it was reimbursed a few hours after we checked out. (This did cause some anxiety as the removal of monies wasn't discussed)

Room to close to kitchen and building works. Too noisy. Very dangerous step inside door. Room dusty and bedsheets torn.

If you travel with large luggage be prepared to carry them through narrow corridors to a third floor.

We had one evening meal and found it over priced and very salty

Central location in the town. Spacious bedroom and welcoming reception and bar / restaurant.
Major kitchen and associated refurbishments impacted the area immediately outside our room, though work was by only being carried out during normal working hours. We found the bed too soft (though obviously may suit some people). No parking at the property, though plenty of public parking nearby but would be an issue if you have large bags or suitcases to carry.

Lovely hotel with great stall...Lucy , Jess and entire team are friendly and ready to help
Great breakfast service was included in our stay
I was packed with a lot of bags and our room was on 2nd floor without lifts...but thats not hotels fault.

Good location in Tetbury High street, good food from a talented chef. Easy access to Bath and Westonbirt.
Original Superior room shower failed mid lather so had to move room. All done without fuss luckily. New room much better quality, not sure why we were not allocated it on arrival.

We found this hotel to be very friendly. The restaurant was superb in the choice and quality of food
on offer. We would re visit Tetbury for that alone.

Gorgeous decor, lively bar/dining area. Friendly staff. Lovely town & convenient location. Food was excellent
Noisiest room I’ve ever stayed in! Sounded like the people above were about to crash through the ceiling . Floorboards were atrociously squeaky and soundproofing was non existent at ceiling/room above . Service in bar/restaurant was slow and seemed like staff were just milling behind the bar with nobody taking charge of the orders in dining area. Perhaps assuming someone else would serve ? . Table next to us waited an hour for their food. Our table & another came in after them and were served before them. Situation between them & staff was obviously super awkward . Would have easily been remedied by a bit more attention.

Location was great as was the aesthetic of the building.
Comfort of the bed wasn’t great, the poor ventilation of the room left a damp smell. Bathroom layout was dreadful, placement of wash hand basin obstructs the use of the toilet. Shower pressure is dreadful.
6.0 / 10.0
Our evening meal was incredible, and even though we were seated in the bar area, it did not detract from how we enjoyed the meal.
The breakfast service was terrible, one our first morning, we weren't given any options other than a Full Breakfast, the second morning we were given a whole menu with a wider choice of options. There was no orange juice available and the apple juice on offer was horrid.
The room was pleasant enough but quite dated, and for the money paid, having a poor quality coffee and substandard bathroom facilities was not ideal.
