I only paid 250-300 for an amazing view of the river and downtown Chicago, I sat there for hours staring at the city lights on my 21st birthday.

Noises in the hallway by late night visitors The restaurant meed to have a greater variety of good food on their menu, and the hotel needs to have great room service that clients can pay for. The hotel is already world class, so why not too it with world class service also. I know you can.

I would definitely go back and looking forward to it but never on a night that busy.

I loved the location but we went when they had the lights and parade so it was exhausting getting to the place and parking because everything was blocked and no immediate or easy access to the hotel but once we git there it was amazing!

The traffic and the blocked off streets made n it extremely hard to get to the hotel and n it was my daughter birthday that weekend so it dampened the arrival but once we got there everything was wonderful ❤️

Great location, at the heart of downtown area, almost all POIs are at walking distance.

Wifi was not working. I informed this situation couple of times but they couldn't do anything and just said that they are aware and will be renewing... Water strength at shower should have been better, not nice to have a good shower. Concierge lady at breakfast restaurant was totally unpolite.

Frustrating.

The rooms were clean.

I don’t think I’ve ever given a bad review and really don’t like to because I get things happen, but all these things could’ve been avoided and costed me an unnecessary amount of money and time wasted - so this warrants a bad review. We booked this hotel after verifying 4 different times with 4 different hotel staff and their reservations team that we’d be able to see the festival of lights fireworks from our hotel room. They said yes each time I asked. We paid a bit more for a room with a river view as they instructed us to do to ensure we could see the fireworks. We got a room where we couldn’t see anything! They wouldn’t switch our rooms nor give us any kind of refund or discount for our troubles since they claimed it was due to an “outside event”. The only reason why we intended to book this $400+ room was to avoid the crowds and see the fireworks. Valet also takes triple the amount of time they tell you to get your car - it took 45 minutes at 10pm to get our car out! The staff at the restaurant connected next door, Hoyt, were also very rude, they forgot to give my son his drink and a plate multiple times. He ate his pizza without a plate.

Great location! We walked to everything (except uber to Griffin Science Museum). Staff were efficient. Housekeeping was exceptional. Would stay here again without a doubt!

We had a wonderful deluxe room (one bedroom suite) but found it inconvenient that the only mirrors were in the bathroom (none in the bedroom). Also trash cans were in the bathroom and kitchenette, again none in the bedroom. Everything else was exceptional!!

Our stay was great until checkout time. Disrespectful and condescending receptionist.

The location and size of the room was great. Staff were nice and welcoming except the condescending and disrespectful receptionist who checked us out.

We did enjoyed our stay at Royal Sonesta until the very end of our trip. At checkout, we were unfortunate to work with a disrespectful and condescending girl. Our checkout bill was higher than our booking invoice. When I ask the girl why the difference in invoice prices, her respond was that we had 2 Evian water bottles in the room. I told her twice, yes we did BUT we did not need or use the water bottles, just like in any others hotels we utilize during our trips. For some reason, she wasn’t happy with my response or the fact that we didn’t fall for that trap. This was her statement—-“ Okay, I’m going to provide you a onetime courtesy and waive the water bottles for you.” The disrespect in that sentence, after repeatedly telling her we did not need or use your water bottles. I wonder how many people they do this to and get away with charging them for expenses they didn’t incur. Read your bills/invoices/receipts before you leave. Some of these hotels are just full of crap!
