The room was beautiful, though the photos made it seem like the living room was part of our booking, not a communal space. Bed and bedding were very comfortable.

The fireplace was unusable, and a feature we specifically looked for when choosing accommodations. The closet door wasn't latching properly. The bathroom door squeaked and woke the others in the room up when using the washroom at night. Outlet/ lamp on one side of the bed (nearest the door) didn't work. The television menu was in Russian and needed a log in for the various apps, so we just used YouTube as a guest

Excellent except not for vegetarians. There were other options, but some of our group don't eat eggs or sausage. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and want to ensure their guests are well taken care of.

The bathtubs are sometimes slippery, it would be a great idea to add grab bars to get in and out. Some of the rooms had shampoo and conditioner, other rooms did not.

Good location

Request for Compensation I am writing regarding our recent stay at your establishment. First, I want to acknowledge that the property was lovely, the atmosphere was charming, and the breakfast was excellent. We truly appreciated those aspects of our visit. However, one group in our party had a very uncomfortable experience that significantly impacted their stay. In their room, there was constant noise in the attic above caused by raccoons. As you can imagine, this made it extremely difficult for them to sleep. This group was visiting from Rome, Italy, and unfamiliar with raccoons—they were quite frightened and understandably upset throughout the night. We were later made aware that you already knew about the raccoon issue but did not inform us beforehand. Had we been told, we could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed with our booking. Unfortunately, being kept unaware led to a very unsettling and sleepless night for part of our group. Given the circumstances, I believe some form of compensation is fair—ideally, a refund for the cost of that room, or at least a partial refund. This would go a long way in showing goodwill and ensuring that, despite this experience, we can still recommend your establishment to others. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to your response.

Non-Smokers stay away.

Breakfast was ok, but only available at 9 am.

Second-hand smoke from the staff area made the stay intolerable. The dining area and lounge stank of stale smoke. When we were in the Inn we stayed in the room with the windows open for "fresher air" but you could still smell the cigartte smoke. Unacceptable for a "public" building.

Old and dirty. Broken windows, smells old and smoke . The bed is too high, and matrass is old and too squeaky. Can be heard sound from the hall. Dust all over. Breakfast was prepared without any sanitary safety precautions, no gloves.

A pleasant stay. Would definitely come back to stay next time

The property is conveniently located close to the main tourist attractions, with a WeGo bus stop right in front for easy access. The host is very welcoming, and I appreciated how clean the place was. The room had plenty of space for two people, and the breakfast served is definitely worth trying.

The lodge is absolutely stunning, but the best part is the kind hospitality of Robin and stuff and the amazing breakfast in the morning: the french toast is to die for and I cant thank enough for the wonderful stay in Niagara Falls.

Welcoming & helpful staff !!

Robin, Susan, & Nicki, the women managing the property, were EXCELLENT - welcoming & friendly and very quick to respond to my texts prior to arrival and also at the property. My room was comfortable and quiet with three large windows overlooking the lovely front lawn & the Niagara Gorge. The bed & pillows were especially comfortable. Flower baskets decorated the property; three tables with comfortable chairs were available to enjoy the spectacular verandah.

The Chinese owner does not seem interested in repairing and/or maintaining the property. The blinds in my room were old, broken, and ripped. Only one window had a curtain. The door to the balcony off my room was sealed shut because the wood on the balcony was rotting. The beautiful gazebo on the front lawn is taped off because it too is rotting. DECAY is not a good look.

A safe, quaint, homey inn in the perfect location

The staff - Robin & Susan - were AMAZING. They make up for any & all shortcomings of the property. Don't get me wrong, the property is beautiful, but there are some cosmetic repairs needed and upkeep by the owner. The location is excellent with a bus stop literally in front of the house. I also loved that I could have a room that was very large and comfortably accommodated my spouse and one child, who had her own twin bed at the other side of the room.

There are a lot of cosmetic repairs that need to be made to the home -such as new blinds, fresh paint on windows, new air window units, etc. The bathroom window was in need of repair - I wouldn't even dare try to open it because it was in such bad shape. These cosmetic repairs wouldn't cost a lot to make, but should be done, right. The mattresses and pillows could be newer and comfier, too. Last, while the towels were nice and plentiful, there is only hand soap in the bathroom. There are no lotions, shampoo, or anything "extra." I haven't stayed in a hotel or inn ever where there was nothing but hand soap.

The bathtub very uncomfortable curtain much too close for washing your body. Can be dangerous if not good balance getting in n out of tub nothing to hold onto. Bathroom also needs a table or counter to keep your toiletries.

Quaint and restful place to get away!

The location is excellent! It was quiet yet perfectly located for easy access to everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast we very tasty.

There were few comfortable places to sit in the room we had. There was no water in the coffee/tea service area ... and only instant coffee - a convenient cup of coffee a must for a relaxing start to our day!

Great stay close to Niagra falls, away from the Niagra crowds.

Friendly helpful staff, easy check in. Coffee, water etc always available. Great location less than 100 meters from Niagra river. Close enough to the falls and to the Whirlpool river/gorge walk. Very clean. Bed was really comfortable and super bedsheets. Nice Shower and tasteful room decor. Breakfast was better than expected. Nice to chat with other guests from the room below over breakfast.

The larger aircon/heater had two plastic tubes at the back. A window was 10cm ajar to allow the tubes to exit the bedroom. Some effort had been made to cancel out night road noise, but not sufficiently. River road is not that busy after 11:00 pm, so it did not affect us.

Great breakfast and accommodated my dietary needs. THe location is a walk to the falls but not too far.

There could have been bottled water in rooms (even tap water in glass bottles would be better than filling out of bathroom sink). Was rushed for breakfast. Check out time was too early -10:30 a.m. The place is quite tired and smells like cigarette smoke in common areas.

Dringend renovierungsbedürftiges Haus mit guter Lage zu den Falls

Vom Chestnut Inn gelangt man zu Fuß in 30 Minuten entlang des Niagara Rivers zu den Falls. Wenn man die River Road immer in die andere Richtung fährt, ist man in ca 25 Minuten im wunderschönen Ort Niagara on the Lake. Parken ist kostenlos und direkt von dem Haus.

Das Haus gehört dringend renoviert. Es ist wunderschön, doch alles ist alt und teilweise nicht mehr funktionsfähig. Das Bett wurde als großes Bett beschrieben, es war jedoch urhoch, dafür sehr schmal und daher nicht bequem. Wir haben 2 Nächte sehr schlecht geschlafen. Außerdem war es im Zimmer trotz kleinem Heizkörper sehr kalt und die zu kleine Decke viel zu dünn. Das inkludierte Frühstück gibt es für alle Gäste zusammen an einem großen Tisch nur um 9 Uhr. Frühstück ist nicht gut, Würstchen und Eier mit harten, aber dafür süßen!! Bagels, leider kein Brot.
