The Giacomo is older, but that only adds to the charm. It was not sterile or generic like a Hyatt or Wyndam. All facilities were up to date and in excellent working order. The included breakfast was fantastic; scrambled eggs , bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, biscuits, the usual cereals, toast, bagels, and gigantic! donuts. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. If they didn't have answers to our questions, they went out of their way to find answers. The top floor is a lounge (not a bar) with 360 views of the city and the Falls. Our room was very clean, well stocked with bottled water, coffee, tea, coffee maker, refrig, clock, USB outlets. The beds were quite comfortable. Room was large with plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was not heated and the heat in the room didn't really warm it enough. That is the reason I gave the place a 9 instead of a 10.
Heat the bathroom a bit better or replace the heat lamp.

The look. The interior and the room was decorated very nicely.
The room’s thermostat would not go above 78 degrees and there was a very bad draft coming from the bathroom which made the room feel colder.

My favorite part about the property was the front desk staff whom I interacted with the most. I loved the plush decor and the location relative to the Falls and to everything else. And I particularly loved the top floor views.
I didn’t like that the first night we stayed there was no bartender, but that was hardly the hotel’s fault. There was a crazy storm and it was the day after Christmas.

Excellent location. Just few minutes from the Falls park. Has it’s own parking. There's a fine panoramic view loft on 19th floor which provides a beautiful view on the evening fireworks. There's a nice and cozy area in the lobby with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, bar and TV.
A lot of stores and restaurants nearby.
Good breakfast.
Staff was friendly and supportive.

We loved the decor, the furniture, the kitchen, the room in its entirety. Felt so cozy and the bed felt amazing. The whole vibe of the property was beautiful. Loved that we were close to other restaurants and attractions, specifically the Falls.
The staff and house keeping was amazing and most importantly the manager, we appreciate him to the fullest!
There was nothing to dislike.

Great location
Some things are outdated such as televisions and other electronics.

We like the coffee at the lobby, the location was great for walking to the Niagara’s falls. The staff was really nice.
The sounds of the bathrooms upstairs was annoying , and even though there was an air conditioner, the heater wasn’t working, so there was a lot of cold on fall and winter.

Breakfast was not as good as past visit in 2021 but alright.
Felt as if my room setup was different from my last stay and would have preferred to have a microwave in the room.

We loved the funky decor. The staff were very friendly. There are lots of cozy nooks to sit and read or relax, a cute little bar area and rooftop lounge where you can see Niagra Falls. Normal hotel breakfast.

Beautiful art deco hotel, super close to the falls, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, gated private parking was nice.
Rooms were slightly dusty and musty. Not terrible but can use a deep clean/freshening.

The location was excellent , so close to the falls and eating places . The staff was welcoming , helpful and accomodating . The room , although a bit small , was
comfortable and the bathroom was so spacious , one could literally waltz around it !
The breakfast was surprisingly good with a wide selection of both cold and warm food
items .
The mattress was lumpy !

Pet friendly, pet allergies never considered for other guests.

It wasn’t your typical chain hotel. It had character and was very close to all of the things we were wanting to do at the Falls. also, the staff was amazing! The girls at the desk were top-notch. One of the girls even gave her own bottle of Mountain Dew to my husband, because we could not find any place close to purchase a Mt Dew.(my husband lives off Mountain Dew, like most people live off coffee.) so to the selfless attendant at the front desk who gave up her Mountain Dew, we thank you again!
What I did not like was whatever they clean with. I believe it’s Fabuloso. It’s just not my preferred cleaning agent. The smell was awful. Another thing I feel was not the best, was there breakfast area. On a busy morning you’re not going to get a seat. Understandably, they do not have the room to put more tables. I guess we could have gone to our room in Eaton, but we had to wait to find a table. It wasn’t a long wait, but that would be the only other negative thing I could find.

The art deco building is beautiful and the staff and complimentary breakfast were excellent. Also, the location of the hotel is perfect for a visit to the falls. Fenced free parking directly across from the hotel was very convient.
Unfortunately, this hotel is a fading rose. As others have mentioned there are stains on the carpet and the carpet is fraying in areas. Vanity sinks do not have any stoppers so it would be quite easy to lose something down the drain. Apparently bath robes are no longer provided, which is fine with me, but signage and hooks remain on the wall where they once would have been. Ascend needs to refurbish the dated and worn guest rooms if this hotel is to remain popular with guests.

Big room.
Great for fireworks over the falls.

Loved the beauty of the old building. Every encounter with the staff was pleasant.
Our room didn’t look anything like the pictures on the Booking website. Carpet was very old. The room was equipped with some kind of motion sensor that turned off some lights and the tv when there was no movement in the room. That was frustrating. The outdoor windows were in desperate need of cleaning, including the viewing lounge at the top.

The village is somewhat run down. Very sad.

Front desk staff was excellent
Windows extremely dirty, no instructions on use of parking area, carpet torn and frayed at entrance, stains in several areas,. With no movement in room power would cycle off causing my CPAP machine to stop... Couldn't be corrected. Water pressure poor, faucet/shower handles could use adjusting. No drink/snacks available. No ice machine on floor. Desk chair worn and would not maintain height.

Our room was well sized, and comfortable with all the usual amenities. The breakfast buffet tasted good and varied slightly from day to day. Especially handy was secure on-site parking and location. From the hotel we could easily walk to all falls sights/viewpoints on both sides of the border.
One stand out aspect was the staff. We stayed at the hotel during a road trip across the north east of the US, and the staff here were by far the friendliest!
Some parts of the hotel seemed a little dated/worn, mostly around the room. Nothing terrible though, it just didn't have the super modern feel other hotels have.

The hotel was in a perfect location to walk to the state park and falls. We could see the fireworks and the mist off the falls. Excellent location. Hotel very roomy, had a 19th floor observation lounge that gave an amazing view. . Breakfast was good and lots of choices.
Walking distance to everything including the casino.
Not alot of food choices on the US side nor attractions other than the falls. Canada has all the commercial things.

Gorgeous!!! We fell in love immediately with this hotel. Sophisticated and relaxed decor, cool ambiance. Our room had jazz playing when I walked in and it set the mood for the entire stay. The desk and environmental staff were so welcoming and friendly. The bartenders were talented. By far our most happy stay ever. We wanted to move in!
That its so far from home!

Our stay at The Giacomo was wonderful! The location is perfect, with free parking that made everything so convenient. Staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, with thoughtful touches like robes after a shower. Breakfast was free and delicious, a great way to start the day. The highlight was watching the fireworks from upstairs—an unforgettable experience! We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

The staff was very accommodating, really friendly, helpful and kind. The room was huge, clean, comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The location was great, about 30 minutes to the Niagara Falls by foot. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby too. The bed was very comfortable. A refrigerator served for our comfort. Breakfast was nice, hot options (omelet, sausage etc.) as well as self-made gofri and yoghurt. I loved the private parking space.
Wi-fi has no password.

Breakfast was really good. Depending on what time you go for breakfast, you might not get a seat, but they have other areas you can go to sit and eat. We rarely had to use our car while there. It's close to the falls. The staff were very cheerful and kind. We could see the nightly fireworks from our window.

Location was great. Three minute walk to Niagara State Park and Rainbow Bridge. Classic old hotel with wonderful art work. Snack cookies wonderful in late afternoon. Free parking across the street.
View only of a wall from bedroom window. So, no view at all. Observation deck on 19th flr. was backup for room without a view, but it was stuffy with all closed windows, no air flow, and no amenities such as snacks, drinks, or anything but a bathroom. AC was a bit noisy in the room, and shower/bathroom got wet and slippery after shower. Complimentary breakfast was a notch above continental brkfst at an express motel, with hot scrambled eggs, oatmeal packs, coffee. Not deluxe by any means. Seasonal price was pretty astronomical, but everything in the area was elevated in early August.

The staff. The room was amazing. I asked if there were any upgrades available and she offered us room 201 which was a junior fireplace deluxe room for $50 additional per night. We had the best three nights there and loved our room. Clean, dark wood floors in the living room - new carpet in the bedroom and the ambiance was warm and relaxing. I have all good things to say.
The lounge on floor 19 could use a little sprucing up which is where some go up to watch the nightly fireworks.

The water pressure in my bathroom shower was very weak, and hardly any water came out. Only on the shower.
