Everything else was absolutely perfect! The superior room was sumptuous, the bed really comfortable, the little details just so gorgeous. I loved the colour scheme! The breakfast was exceptional and everything was done beautifully. Victor was totally charming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was ideal for getting into the city centre. We will definitely return when we're in Oxford next!
Not sure about the clear glass on the bathroom doors/screen.

We were greeted by a charming chap, I believe he was called Nes. He gave us a thorough run through of all the facilities, breakfast times etc. He was so friendly, exuberant and helpful and eager to ensure that we were settled and happy. It was a very personal touch that you don't get in the hotel chains. Our room was a small double in the courtyard area. It was perfect for one night but if staying longer I would recommend booking a larger room with more storage space. That said, it was spotlessly clean and had a good sized bathroom with a rain shower and was fully air conditioned. The location of the hotel is not in the centre of Oxford but in a quieter part, but it is so easily accessible either by a short bus ride or walking which is around 25 minutes or so, The buses are quite frequent and located near the hotel. Our breakfast was wonderful. We were greeted by Victor, he had excellent customer service skills and was so friendly and professional at the same time. The chef, whose name I unfortunately do not know , but who also acknowledged us, cooked the most delicious breakfast, so compliments to him for his exquisite culinary skills. My wife had the homemade yoghurt and fruit compote to start and she said that it was the finest she had tasted. we also had the homemade bread which was such a special touch and very tasty indeed. The omelette my wife had was delicious and full of gruyere cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms, the ingredients were very fresh and cooked to perfection. The scrambled eggs I had were cooked to order, I was asked if I wanted them runny, medium or well done, which I something I have never been asked before, but so appreciated as I often find them overdone or too runny! The bacon and sausages and tomatoes were all absolutely delicious too We checked out of the hotel feeling full and we didn't need lunch! I would definitely recommend this hotel for its personal service and friendliness and character.
We liked everything apart from the lack of storage space but it didn't really matter too much as it was only an overnight stay.

The House is in the perfect location, on a main bus route into Oxford. It's beautifully appointed, room was super comfortable and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with a great choice of hot and cold options. There's off road parking, and it's close to the outer ring road to easily get to places like Blenheim. Highly recommend it for visiting Oxford.
