The room was an okay size, the room was clean the bed was comfy. The location was great 2 min walk from Westgate, 2 mins from the action, pubs & restaurants - 10 min walk from the station, easy to find. Had a kettle, tea/coffee making facilities.
The shower was very small; if you was on the larger size, you would not fit in. Not a great choice of teas/coffee - no bedside table, no plug near bed - lighting wasnt great in the main room. Television was tiny. Okay for 1 night stay, but wouldn't use for longer than 2 nights. The rooms had very thin walls.

Very central and excellent staff.
Stairs were a problem for us, aged 85 and 92, but staff took our cases up when we arrived and down when we left.

Really great location in town centre.
The receptionist was talking very loudly all day, which could be heard very clearly in the room due to the thin walls. He was especially loud in the morning. If you wish to sleep in in the morning, better bring ear plugs.
The place could use a renovation, the paint in the room was pealing off the wall.

Its location was excellent
The room was clean.
The soundproofing was poor. Could hear next doors alarm at 6.30 and the noise of the shower and water pipes. The road noise was obviously bey loud all through the night until about 4am and then deliveries early morning at 7. The windows let all the noise in. We didn’t sleep well

Location and staff - fab. Unbeatable location next to theatres and restaurants
The front bedrooms are on the road side and being a city centre, it is noisy. Bring ear plugs and you'll be fine. Also, no lifts and if you struggle with stairs this would be a problem.

Fantastic location, clean and tidy.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Ver noisy neighbours in adjacent room … but that not the fault of the hotel!

Location was great!
No lift. Old building.

The location is amazing and super close to everything. I didn’t find it noisy but it was January and I wear earplugs to sleep. The staff were helpful and let me check in early. The heater worked.
There are stairs to reception and the building and room is all a little old and dated. The shower was small and not suitable to tall people. Oxford is very expensive but this place was a cheaper option for the city centre.

We had a lovely comfortable stay . We were in a room that looked on to the back of the hotel with it being New Year’s Eve and lots of people around it was very quiet and had a good sleep .

One bed was bad. Mattress seemed broken.
No soap in shower.
TV didn’t work.
Harassing messages and phone calls from reception to check in quickly, with threat of cancellation, because he had a party to go to.

Location
Rooms are quite basic but comfortable and a bed side cabinet would be nice

I thought the location and value for money was great about this property.
The bathroom had quite a bit of mould and the shower was a mere trickle.

The location and the staff i met.
The place needs a total refurbishment. When I arrived there was a power cut. No electricity.

Staff were really nice. Arrived 30 mins before check in time but room was ready so they allowed us to check in earlier than planned. Room clean although not luxury.
Bit noisy in hotel until everyone settled for the night.
Struggled to find plugs.

Location is great.
Rooms are really not to the standard advertised. Outdated decor and grubby looking bed linen. Very small shower.

Great location.
Rooms were comfortable and clean and smelled lovely and fresh. Bathroom was clean too. Plenty of tea and coffee supplied and also packs of biscuits.
Reception staff helpful and friendly and you can leave luggage if arriving early or after departure.
Booked 2 rooms. The room at the back of the hotel was quiet but the room situated at the front had a lot of outside noise especially evening and night.
This is however to be expected in a city centre and didn't affect us too much.
4.0 / 10.0
The hotel is close to shopping, the theatre and eateries.
1.Unfortunately there is no parking so you have to use the open air public car park in Worcester Street (at the bottom of George St) which is very expensive at £42 for 24hrs stay.
2. Make sure you bring a pull along case even if it's only overnight as it is a bit of a walk from the car park
3. The front of the building doesn't advertise the property adequately. I had to ask in a nearby shop for directions.
4. Once you gain access you are met with a damp smell in the stairwell, all the way up the stairs and into the actual room.
5. If you have difficulty climbing stairs this isn't the hotel for you.
6. Although the room appeared clean at first glance, it smelt damp and the toilet added a sewerage element to the existing odour. The cleaner had just finished cleaning the room as we walked in and I could hardly breath due to the amount of air freshener she had sprayed. She had also opened all the windows, I can only assume to help mask the smell of the toilet cistern.
7. The windows don't cancel out the noise on the street, they may as well have remained open all night. Due to the number of pubs and eateries on George Street I was unable to sleep until gone 2.00am (this was a Thursday, so it would probably have been even later on a weekend). I would advise requesting a room facing the back.
8. The curtains don't block any of the street lights so the room was lite all night.
9. The beds desperately require new mattresses, the mattress on one bed was actually leaning to the side.
10. The bedding on one of the beds smelt greasy and you could see black spots on the pillowcase.

The bed so comfortable, clean sheet and linen, bathroom are good and clean, toiletries provided as essential such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The receptionist was helpful who assisted me with my suitcase to the room since no lift. The location is proximity to anywhere at Oxford city, even you can reach by foot. Convenient!
The minus thing about the property is no access with lift but it’s alright not too high to climb
5.0 / 10.0
The two gentlemen who were working around the reception area when I arrived were friendly and helpful. It was good that they offered me a choice of floors and also offered to carry my bag up to my room when I chose the top floor, as there is no lift. When I reported that the washbasin wasn't emptying the receptionist did go up and try to deal with it, and the drain had cleared a little when I got back that night.
The room was really very basic for the price. Both the washbasin and the shower need to have their drains properly cleared, the heated towel rail is rusted and coming away from the wall, and there is no power socket by the bed.

Central location, good value for money and clean
Sewage smell in the entrance hallway is strong. Noisy as in a city centre which we were aware of and did not stop us booking. Left a couple of items in a drawer but found staff unhelpful checking for it. So still missing.

Was so pleasantly surprised with this accommodation after reading some of the negative reviews! Only stayed for one night bit really would have liked longer. The room was a good size, very clean, nicely decorated and really good value for money. Couldn't believe how quiet it was especially having a street facing room bang in the middle of the city centre. Staff also let me store luggage prior to stay which was a great help - would definitely use this place again!

The location was excellent.
I didn't like the fact that we had to wait ,with our luggage, to be let in. The stairs were really narrow. The room was tiny. There was no room to open our suitcases. The beds were old and squeeked. Very low pillows. Noise from outside.

Conveniently close to everything
Beds and pillows uncomfortable. Windows very thin can hear everything outside on an evening.
