Excellent location, 5 mins to the train station, 0-3 mins from plenty of fantastic food and drink options, 3-5 mins from a wide variety of shops and there is no shortage of many city/historical landmark within a 15 min radius, couldn't be better location wise. My room was obviously recently renovated, nicely laid out and good overall appearance!
Cleanliness wasn't ideal, a few marks on the bedsheets etc but nothing abhorrent/unmanageable. Will definitely return! Though I hope when I do it will be cleaner!

It was close to the town and the staff were friendly.
There was a lot of mould on the windows and it was right next to a busy buss stop that runs though the night.

Why is booking.com still allowing booking at this hotel after the news of human trafficking linked to this hotel??!! Very upsetting.
Also looked nothing like the pictures & in the middle of renovation. Disgusting.

ERMM, clean towels ( I think) , good location for oxford tube but not ideal as your right above a bar. Oh the Internet works too
The shower head that you had to hold to have a shower, the missing light above the bed. The mold in the bathroom. The 1980s carpet , the general decor with chips everywhere.. the pest control in the bathroom. No PAT test dates on appliances with a plug that's got a hole in that must've been burnt out

Room was at a reasonable temperature. Person at reception was courteous and helpful. Good location. Struggling to come up with anything else.
Absolutely fine if you are cool with staying in a place that feels like a building site. Presumably it'll look a bit better when the work is done. The room had nowhere to hang anything and no side tables (so everything has to live on the floor). The shower had close to zero pressure so using it felt like being out in very light drizzle. No room clean or even the vaguest suggestion this might take place. The main feeling was that anything that could possibly make life a bit easier had been deliberately omitted.

Very helpful staff, very central location, good value for money. My room was co.fortable, larger than the average double bedroom, and everything worked well. The hotel is going through major refurbishments; everything needs repai ting and carpets replaced but it was clean despite the building work, and they are obviously getting on with it. The price for a sizeable double in the very centre of Oxford more than compensate for this.
Aside from renovations and need for refurbishment (see above) it is very noisy until the early hours of the morning, as it is close to some late.nIght bars and the bus station. The refurbishments need to include double glazing and other sound insulation, but for now bring your ear plugs

Central
Window didn’t shut in bathroom so was freezing, above a loud nightclub/bar, shower damaged, hairdryer overheated, tired furnishings, very dirty net curtain, no mirror in room, clutter in the hall ways.

It was clean
Shower was not working when I arrived. No table, chair, glasses or tea/coffee, nowhere to hang a wet coat. No clothes storage.
All fixed after complaint.
Pigeons outside are noisy.

Location
Well I came back to my room at the end of the evening to find a woman in the bed… so no, not exactly ideal.
Bet she wasn’t too happy either.
Why don’t the rooms have internal deadlocks for a start.
The replacement room was noisy, had terrible light pollution and was hotter than hell. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon.

Useful location
A man opened the door and came into my room in the middle of the night when I was in bed. I think reception had given him the key code for the wrong room. This made me feel quite unsafe, particularly at there was no way of latching the door from the inside.

I was met by a member of staff at the stated time of arrival. The member of staff was very friendly and helpful. When I pointed out that my kettle didn’t work on day one, it was replaced immediately. Tea and coffee was provided.
I stayed in one of the recently refurbished en-suite rooms, which was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Unusually, there were no hooks to hang jackets, or coat hangers for shirts, which was a bit irritating. The toilet/shower worked well and I was provided with clean towels and shampoo-conditioner. There was also a hairdryer. I was very happy with the room.
Whist there was no breakfast provided, I found a lovely cafe in the quadrangle behind the bus station, called ‘Spire’. The food was excellent and even opened at 7.30 am on Sunday. There is also a newsagent and cafe Nero in the same quadrangle. On the weekend there was an open market in the Square too. The hotel is also within short walking distance of many other restaurants and bars. It is a very handy location.
After booking my room I had a few questions to ask about parking and I received prompt replies with helpful information.
When I first arrived I could not find the entrance to the hotel straight away, which is simply a code-locked door leading directly onto a stair case with a small reception desk on the first floor.
My first impressions of the state of the hotel corridors and carpets was quite shocking, as they were not in good condition. I was informed that the hotel is in the process of being refurbished, which explained everything. I hope this upgrade will also include better signage and a lick of paint at the entrance.
The staircase leading to the reception had mattresses on it, which I assumed was from a recent delivery for the ongoing refurbishment. The carpets and walls in the corridors are very much in need of an upgrade. Again, I would expect these changes to be part of the eventual refurbishment. The upgrade has clearly happened in the en-suite room I stayed in, which was very nice.
I stayed three nights over a weekend, and the noise of city revellers kept me awake on the first night, but after purchasing ear plugs, I slept very well for the next two nights. Sunday night was very quiet.
As soon as I came to terms with the refurbishment that is happening, I accepted the poor state of the corridors and carpets, and enjoyed my stay.

Good location- close to shops, rail station and attractions.
Difficult to locate- not well signposted (paper stuck inside glass door) easy to walk past.
Our room was very run down, stains on walls, shower leaked, cracked tiles and scraps of food on window ledge.
We were disappointed that we were not informed at booking of renovations - we paid full price and arrived to find out the hotel is under renovation. We feel we have been misled by the owners.
Also concerned about mattresses lined up along the stairs - the only entrance and fire escape

Absolutely nothing. We walked in. Went to our show at the new theatre and then came back packed and booked a different hotel.
It was dirty, it was smelly. The room was what I could only describe as something from an American horror film motel. The radiator had burn marks and a dent on it like it was about to burst into flames. The tiles on the floor in the bathroom were coming loose. The water from the taps was brown and smelled like sewage. I wouldn't even brush my teeth there. There was mold everywhere. Stains on the curtains. The only part of the room that was clean was the bedding. The carpet was filthy. The furniture was filthy. They told us about the loud music which is fine we were warned. But we physically could not stay in that room so we booked a different hotel at 23:45 and we just left. Absolutely awful stay. Would NOT recommend to anyone.

- Location: Very central and convenient for my meeting.
- Price: Cheaper than nearby options.
- Wi-Fi: Connected immediately and worked fine.
- Bedsheets appeared clean.
- Property name: Signed as “OXO Hotel,” not “Eurobar and Hotel” as listed.
- Entrance: Front door covered in labels; staircase was grubby with multiple mattresses stored on the stairs.
- Room: Strong odd smell on entry; walls dirty; wardrobe in poor repair.
- Bathroom: No curtain and only lightly frosted glass facing a main road, so I had to hang a towel for privacy.
- Bath: Damaged end taped over and a large patched hole near the plug that looked crudely repaired.
- Check-in: Given room and door code on a Post-it; overall felt very unprofessional.
- Overall condition: The place felt neglected and not as described.

Location
Very very noisy as about pub & no double glazing. My little could not sleep untill 1am - when the pub closed. Currently the hotel is undergoing renovation and can be noisy & unappealing to look apon. Not very clean, outdated & faulty shower, taps. Heater didn't work. Pillows were very uncomfortable - flat & stains on divets.

I have absolutely nothing to say that was positive. This is the worst place I have stayed in for over 30 years
The hotel was in a very poor condition. Damp wall paper, broken windows where glass was taped, electrics hanging off the wall. The TV didn't work but I reported it and the staff fixed it. The wifi didn't work so they provided a different password. I decided not to try the shower during my stay as the bathroom was not good. The room had single glazing and broken taped up windows and was incredibly noisey from the nightlife downstairs, until approx 1.30am

Staff were polite. Location was great.
Hallway smelt of cigarettes. Various stains on the wall. Curtain pole held up by sellotape. Filthy windows, inside and out. More water came out of the bottom of the shower unit than the shower head. Hotel above club which was not mentioned in the listing. Absolutely no chance of sleep before 12:30 due to the obnoxiously loud music.
Basic doesn't have to mean this.

Location was excellent/central. Thankfully we had one of the newly refurbished rooms at the top of the house so the room and furnishings were clean and fresh. Lots of plugs, hairdryer, fan, etc. However, the room does need more hanging space. Wifi was good. Staff - when they finally appeared - were helpful.
Entrance and check-in was poor. We hadn't received the promised email in advance with door code access codes etc; thankfully our friends had arrived earlier and - after continuously pressing the bell - had finally been admitted.
The staircase and decor is a mess - although refurbishment work is underway, so hopefully things will improve.
The bar below blasted music until 4 am. Thankfully I had good ear plugs, but my husband was kept awake - and we were on the top floor, so the noise would be worse lower down.
There was no hot water in our ensuite basin - but the shower was fine as it had an electric thermostat.
There were no radiators; we had to ask for a heater.
When we were ready to check out the following morning no one came to reception, despite us pressing the bell for assistance.

Location. Very central.
Quite tatty / tired looking, odd smell in the reception area, lampshades missing / broken, bath tub casing and shower holder broken, generally run down and in need of a refurb. Beds however were comfortable and bedding clean. Room seemed clean.

Fantastic location with everything on the doorstep.
There was an issue with the drains to the shower room and the smell was dreadful - too bad to use the shower.

The location is amazing between the train Station and the city centre, and the person I met at reception was friendly. The room was clean.
The whole place is run down: wallpaper and paint peeling off the walls, humidity marks in the bathroom, windows broken. It needs complete refurbishment.

There was no one there when I arrived. The chairs are very steep. And the Bar below the hotel had a very loud band and loud crowd until 1:30 in the morning. It was horrible.

Location was OK as there were some decent restaurants across the road.
Possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, in the UK. The photos on here do not represent how rundown this place is. Broken shower so had to hold the head to wash, mould on walls, cracked and loose floor tiles, lumpy pillows, dirty ripped carpet, and don’t even get me started on the windows and noise from the pub downstairs. Strange electrical devices on the wall and a heater in the bathroom you’d be crazy to consider using.
Wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me.

Everything was shocking. Beds were filthy, walls were filthy, walls had holes in them, carpets were stained, windows were broken and stuck open or sellotaped together.

I regret to say that my stay at this property was extremely unsatisfactory. The condition of the room was wholly unacceptable and raises serious concerns about safety, hygiene, and basic standards of maintenance.
Upon arrival, I discovered that the door lock did not function properly, which left me feeling unsafe. The wallpaper was stained with clear evidence of water damage from a previous leak. The entire room was coated in a film of grime and dirt, suggesting that it had not been cleaned in quite some time.
The bathroom was in an even worse state. The shower basin had collapsed, the shower doors were hanging off their hinges, and the ceiling was covered in grime. Additionally, the toilet did not even have a lid, which is unhygienic and entirely unacceptable.
Overall, the condition of this accommodation was deplorable and far below even the most basic standards. I strongly urge others to avoid staying here, as it is neither safe nor sanitary.
Everything.
