The booking was confirmed. But when we arrived, no check-in instructions, no-one there, buzzer doesn't work, phone number doesn't work, email address bounces back. Hotels.com had to move us. Please don't book.

Very clean room, great location and comfy bed!

Great apartment with a fantastic location in the centre of Oxford. Lovely decor and amenities

It’s very central and convenient for setting Oxford on foot. Nicely renovated room, quiet at night even though it was a Saturday. Slight hitch with the code to get in but this was resolved with a phone call.

Lovely Hypnos divan bed base - but no proper mattress just a mattress topper so the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Gorgeous fluffy pillows and good quality sheets.
Great coffee machine but just 2 pods no fresh milk and very noisy fridge. Washing up liquid but no tea towel.
2 windows with heavy sound and light blocking curtains and 2 windows with broken blinds. So street lights all night and early morning light flooded into the flat.
Contrary to what it says on the booking form - that a host greets you at this property It’s a self check in and you do need to ring them to share your details so they can send info as apparently they don’t receive that info from Expedia. The email provided for Henry’s bounced back for me hence the phone call. There’s no facility for early check in and you can leave bags with the parent hotel but some distance away.
Self check in is easy - although the corridors are fairly dimly lit and we had to use phone torches to see the key pad even in the afternoon when we arrived.
Two switch panels in place but missing switches - presumably to the ceiling fan - but it’s covered in dust so would probably have made the lovely bedding grubby if we had managed to put it on.

The building itself was unique and had lots of character. The room itself was good and had all you would need for a short stay. The location was incredibly convenient for visiting Oxford. However, there were multiple issues. There was mold in the shower and there was dust on the sheets. The shower drain only allowed you to shower for 3-4 minutes at a time because the drain was so slow and the shower basin would fill up. Check in information was given, but there was no checkout information and the company was unresponsive with all attempts to contact- I had to leave the keys in the room because I had no idea what else to do. Outside the location was noisy. Not sure I would recommend to anyone in the future.

Such a lovely place in a fantastic location. Very comfortable bed and nice to have a coffee machine too.

This hotel is really just several rooms for rent without anyone onsite. Rooms do not have air conditioning, and amenities are sparse. The location is close to the heart of town but the alley pretty noisy with crowds at night and delivery trucks morning.

Great location to get around town. Would stay here again. Ceiling fans didn’t work but other than that, it was a very nice stay

Henry's location off the main traffic streets but easily walkable to all points makes it the perfect location. The building is very secure. Just know our unit was up many steps and no lift, but we would definitely stay here again.

Safe didn't work, there was no room turnover, fridge contained an empty beer bottle, and there was a cockroach in the bathroom (never seen a cockroach in the UK before). The room door didn't deadlock, or lock from the inside. Quaint and in a good location though.

Everything smooth

The location had set a set air conditioner to 20-23 degrees Celsius and it would not go down at all nor cool, we had to sleep with all the windows open because of the heat. The reception is not in the building and nobody could come and help us at all when we discovered none of the ceiling fans worked. When I called the reception the reception person had me check under the bed for a switch that was non existent, then flip all of the switches multiple times to see if any worked for the fan. On top of it he told me nobody could come to fix it since he couldn’t leave the reception desk at his location. It was unbearably hot inside and no a/c and no overhead fans was a terrible combo. I would not go here again personally.

Henry's location is excellent. And the accommodation is OK. It's a bit tired around the edges (mould in the shower, windows not cleaned for several years, etc.) But OK. We missed the little things, like not being able to store our bags anywhere safe.

AirBnB like place, but they did not provide the entry codes ahead of time. When I called the front desk (of a different hotel) the gentleman who answered also didn't know the entry code, but he did call back 20 minutes later with the code. Also adjusting thermostat did nothing, it was cold no matter what I set it to.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. We got the third level room and it was nice and served its purpose. My only complaint with the room was that the bathroom absolutely reeked of mold. Other than that, the location was great, very walkable, and we enjoyed our stay (other than the terrible mold smell).

This is a really handy room only place slap in middle of Oxford. Very clean, all facilities, excellent condition

We enjoyed our stay at Henry's very much. The room was clean, well kept and convenient to the central part of Oxford. There are only 4 rooms, and no desk or staff on site, but we called the number with questions and a real person answered and was very helpful. This stay was close to the train station and very centrally located for touring Oxford or finding good pubs.

Great location but horrible service!

Check-in is an ordeal. There is no front desk and it can be difficult reaching someone by phone. Entrance is via a code, which is the same code for all the rooms - a cause for security concerns. The overhead fan did not work. We couldn’t get on the wifi either, but just trying to get into the room had been such a hassle we opted to not bother trying to reach out again.
The space itself is fine and like the pictures. Lots of light. Had everything we wanted. Nice central location, but beware it can be noisy near pub and club closing times (3am).

Host did not show, took 5 calls from us to gain access. Chair was stained and torn, window blind was broken. Kitchen scouer left for washing up was very used and old, disgusting. Overhead fan did not work, aircon not opperating, pedistal fan wonky. Ioning board proped beside the table but had feet missing so did not stand. Corrosion on kitchen tap. No luggage rack. Very, very disappointing.

First let me say that this property is in a great location and although small was clean and comfortable. The reason for the lower review is to try to get the owner to sort out their communication with tjheir guests and their check-in process. We booked this stay on expedia and sent them several messages via the Expedia platform and by email before our stay to check if we could leave our suitcases at the property as we would be arriving too early for checkin. No one had rhe courtesy to answer our messages. The booking information we received from expedia said we would receive our checkin instructions the day before our arrival. This did not happen. On the day of our arrival we rang the emergency number that was shown on the door of the property as we had still not reveived any checkin instructions. The number goes through to a different hotel. Unfortunately we had to try this number repeatedly as each time we got a recorded message to say no one was currently available. We eventually managed to get through to someone who said rhe checkin instructions would be sent through to us at 3pm the checkin time. At 3.30 we had still not received any checkin instructions. We went through the whole process again of trying to get hold of someone. We eventually got through to the receptionist at the other hotel who did his best to help us and we eventually got in 1 hour later. Totally stressful and frustrating and completely avoidable. We hope no other guests suffer this

Near city center, very easy to access. Oxford is the beautiful town, definitely worth to stay at least two nights to explore the surrounding countryside.

Were it not for photos, i wouldnt have thought previous reviews were fir the same property. When we arrived, neither tge door code nor the key worked. We thought maybe it was because it was not quite 3pm, so we left our luggage in front of our doir and came back later, to the same problem. I called the provided number and was told someone would come over. When no one did, I called again. They gave us a new code to get in, but turns out the key we were given was for a different room, which we were instructed to leave outside the door. It was picked up the following day.
It's an old building, so the floors were understandably creaky. We did our best not to disturb the guests below. The bed was just a box spring with a pad on it, so uncomfortable, but for two nights we made the best of it.
The shower was strong and the bathroom bright. Amenities included a mini-fridge and some utensils, allowing for a simple breakfast.

Location was very good. Access was secure. Mini fridge was helpful.Bath towels were nice size. Lighting was fine.
Coffee maker leaked when turned on, hot water pot old and deteriorated, needs replacing. bath sink drains a bit slow.
Room temp couldn't be regulated. Shower water temp too hot, could not be lowered and no one to call to service or discuss situation.

As advised there is no reception at this hotel however I didn’t receive an email to advise key location or door code. This was very inconvenient but made better because of the help from the neighbouring bicycle repair shop people and Bart from the “Handle Bar” restaurant next door. A big shout out of thanks to those folks for their help. Everything else about the Hotel is good, great location, comfortable, cosy and quaint. If stairs are a problem this is not the hotel for you. Wifi is weak.

Henry’s was a great place to stay right near the center of Oxford. You have to have a code to get in the door. My one problem was that I didn’t get an email with the code prior to my visit, which made it hard to get in. I was able to call them and got the code and from them on, it was perfect. The room had a small kitchenette (nowhere to heat food, but a small fridge and sink) and some basic supplies. There was a bedroom and sitting room and bathroom so it felt easy to be ‘at home’ there. It’s right in town, so there was noise until about 2 am some nights. I did not mind that. If you’re looking for a comfortable, convenient, in-town place, this is a great one.

Beautiful house in the old town, historic place - but with modern comfort (new Bathroom, cozy bed ...). They did a great job restoring it! We had a tiny kitchen with fridge, tea/coffee, a sitting room and there even was a fan.
We didn't get the welcome email, but we just gave them a call and everything was handled perfectly. If you have problems with stairs, you should know there are two sets, the last quite narrow, because it's an old house. We would love to stay here again - highly recommend!
