This is not the first time I am staying her. The location is excellent, near to both bus station and railway station, and a short walk to town centre. As always the staff is nice and helpful.
No breakfast is served, but there is a café on the ground floor and a Sainsbury branch just around the corner.

Very friendly staff, flexibility during check-in (spontaneous upgrade to larger room that was available quicker), catered to admin needs with invoicing.
Fairly spacious room, tea amenities and cookies.
Very cold in the room (radiator did not get very warm), shower had low water pressure and temperature.
The hotel is transparent about not offering breakfast, which can be taken at separate cost at the adjacent café - but both businesses should at least negotiate a discount deal for guests.

We arrived early (I had communicated this via e-mail in the week and had good communication) and the lady on the front desk was excellent. She offered to take our bags so that we could go exploring the city but she double checked to see if the room was ready - it was so we were able to access the room early. This was ideal. The room was a family room and catered well for 3 people who were in the city for the football. We had enough space in the room for all of us to have our own "area" if you will as the room size was excellent. The bathroom was clean and a decent size. The lady on the front desk was pleasant and polite and very helpful. The location was close to the train station and away from main city centre but within walking distance. It was surprisingly quiet at night considering our location.
Nothing - the hotel was excellent and met our needs well.

The hotel is really close to the station and easy to access all main locations. The girls at the front desk are friendly and helpful. It’s also above a supermarket, so very useful.
I’ve never had this happen to me before…but someone used my toilet when I was away and did not flush properly. I felt my privacy and space were very violated… especially as I was traveling alone. My room was at the end of the corridor, around a corner and at the side of the door for the laundry exit…so don’t think it’s covered by the security camera unfortunately. I did flag to the front desk but never heard anything back.
Apart from that small issues…cups not washed, torn duvet cover etc. it’s an old hotel…and needs some upgrades.
Main other issue was that when I put off the light switch, the charging point also shuts off. So could not charge my phone at night.

Nowhere to get food before my 7.,41 train on a Sunday :(

Convenience to station and breakfast cafe quality is great - baby spinach and balsamic vinegar side tells me we still have a great cook here.
Room, bed comfort, up-to-date details, sound-proofing great.
Shower head size and character inadequate. We want to get wet and warm all over, quite quickly (saves water in the long run).

Not much. Really a great pick for Oxford.

Really handy for the train station and just a few minutes walk from all of the historic sites. Comfortable and clean, great café attached for breakfast and Sainsbury's under the hotel too! Everything you need.
Nothing really. Room was very warm but we opened windows.

From phoning in the morning to request some information and checking in the staff during the day evening and night with friendly welcoming and attentive the room was very clean and everything we needed and if we are back in Oxford we would 100% stay here again and recommend to others
Nothing it was all great

Welcoming, comfortable, clean, good size, affordable.
Beds are lovely and cozy. Bathroom really nice and clean.
There’s no lift, so if you have mobility issues request to be on the first floor. There’s still a few to go up and down. So plan your day so that you’re not up and down. 😄😄

Clean, comfortable room in a very central location in Oxford.
There isn't a bar or their own restaurant which is fine but they perhaps could sell provisions in reception like many of the budget hotels do via a fridge or vending machine.

Very clean and friendly staff
Very noisy from the road and the room next door. Beds lumpy and pillows flat.

Room small, but well presented. Nice touch of a mint on bed to welcome. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Close to railway station, so just a quick walk. The adjoining cafe has a good selection for breakfast. Poached eggs yummy!
Only being picky, but complimentary water on every day would be welcome.
I don’t like a shower over the bath and thought I was getting a walk in shower from the picture. Perhaps clarify with Hotel when booking.
Neither comments a deal breaker as I would return.

Perfect location, close to the train station and city centre. Sainsbury 's local shop just a minute walk, cafe/ restaurant (not part of the hotel) on the bottom had a great menu. We had a quiet room, beds comfortable, big bathroom with walking in shower, WiFi, air-conditioning, TV. All the basics covered and that what we needed for our short break in this great town. Staff at the reception extremely helpful, well done.
The radiators were not working but we used aircon to heat the room. We have reported this but maintenance was not available.

The Royal Oxford Hotel is ideally situated to visit Oxford city centre. We decided to travel by train so the proximity to the station was great.
We came to see a show at the theatre so it was good to be close to there too.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel fulfilled our needs but anyone who was staying longer might not agree due to the lack of a bar and restaurant.
The adjoining olive tree was not upto our expectations so we ate and drank elsewhere.

excellent location to be near the railway station (and bus for blenheim palace) - very good thai restaurant around the corner (to the right, not left)
staff didn't know about getting to blenheim and also didn't know where the thai restaurant was (very nearby) - not good if you have trouble with stairs (we were warned ahead of time) - not close to the university (10 minute boring walk) if that's the goal of the trip

Very comfortable and spotlessly clean and quiet even overlooking the main junction outside.
No lift and breakfast not included in the price.

Hotel Staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is right near train and bus station. The room is pretty soundproof. The shower, while small, has nice hot water. The bed is comfortable.
It was freezing outside and so was the room. The room eventually warmed up, but the bathroom stayed frozen cold for my whole stay.
The folk at the cafe adjoining the hotel lobby were unfriendly and rude.
The room itself was in shabby shape--bed falling to bits and the blinds unable to be fully closed.
Some bits of the room were imperfectly cleaned.

Location
Parking was a disaster and the main reason I booked this hotel as I had a car.
On booking in I was told the parking featured on booking. Com at a rate of £10 for 24 hours was Not Available.
Resulting in paying £41 !!!
Alternative parking was Oark and Ride outside the city
I am shocked as the parking was my sole reason for booking this hotel as it was quoted in booking. Com website

Rooms were spotless, so very clean. Staff were excellent.
Nothing I didn’t like.

Nice location on walking distance of city centre. Close to parking lot (at train station). Very friendly staff.
Small fridge in the room would have been nice, but apart from that we had a great stay!
7.0 / 10.0
Good location for Oxford Centre
No lift to upper floors makes accessible difficult. Also rooms are relatively basic…no fridge, shower was under powered and room furniture was tired.
5.0 / 10.0
The staff were lovely. the room was clean, the hotel is well looked after. Aircon in the room was good, nice selection of tea and coffee, biscuits and bottled water were all very welcome.
The bathroom... The shower is tepid and uncontrollable, the main light and vanity light are on the same switch, I'd prefer to have just the vanity light on alone; and the shower splash door doesn't open past the taps so the water sprays on the floor.
Bed was comfortable enough, but not amazing.

Amazing staff; very friendly and helpful.
Super location and easy to find (close to station).
Very clean room with updated bathroom.
We asked for a quiet room and were given a quiet room overlooking the internal courtyard rather than the main road.
Very expensive for the grade of the hotel. We unintentionally picked the weekend at the start of the new university term, so this was probably why it was so expensive.
There is no bar or restaurant, although you can access an independent cafe from inside the hotel, rather than having to go outside. There is also a small Sainsbury's supermarket next door.
The beds were quite hard.

Great location on the edge on the city centre.
Helpful staff from messages before stay to guidance when we arrived. Ironing board brought to room when requested.
The showers aren't very powerful.

Great location - a short walk to the centre of Oxford. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know.
We had the most distant room on the top floor and there was no lift, so some weightlifting was required!
9.0 / 10.0
the hotel was very close to the train station, but still in a reasonable area convenient to the university and other sights in the city; room was comfortable and recently renovated- little personality but perfectly adequate.
There was no restaurant or even a lobby/sitting room in the hotel
8.0 / 10.0
Fantastic location near the train station and short walk to everything in Oxford. Friendly staff and good value compared to other hotels.
