For our needs expectations were met.

Perfect location, close to the train station and city centre. Sainsbury 's local shop just a minute walk, cafe/ restaurant (not part of the hotel) on the bottom had a great menu. We had a quiet room, beds comfortable, big bathroom with walking in shower, WiFi, air-conditioning, TV. All the basics covered and that what we needed for our short break in this great town. Staff at the reception extremely helpful, well done.

The radiators were not working but we used aircon to heat the room. We have reported this but maintenance was not available.

We enjoyed our stay.

The Royal Oxford Hotel is ideally situated to visit Oxford city centre. We decided to travel by train so the proximity to the station was great. We came to see a show at the theatre so it was good to be close to there too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel fulfilled our needs but anyone who was staying longer might not agree due to the lack of a bar and restaurant. The adjoining olive tree was not upto our expectations so we ate and drank elsewhere.

close to train station and buses but not close to the colleges

excellent location to be near the railway station (and bus for blenheim palace) - very good thai restaurant around the corner (to the right, not left)

staff didn't know about getting to blenheim and also didn't know where the thai restaurant was (very nearby) - not good if you have trouble with stairs (we were warned ahead of time) - not close to the university (10 minute boring walk) if that's the goal of the trip

It was totally practical for what I needed, excellent location and friendly staff.

Convenient location, nice staff, but it could use an upgrade.

Hotel Staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is right near train and bus station. The room is pretty soundproof. The shower, while small, has nice hot water. The bed is comfortable.

It was freezing outside and so was the room. The room eventually warmed up, but the bathroom stayed frozen cold for my whole stay. The folk at the cafe adjoining the hotel lobby were unfriendly and rude. The room itself was in shabby shape--bed falling to bits and the blinds unable to be fully closed. Some bits of the room were imperfectly cleaned.

Disappointed NO parking

Location

Parking was a disaster and the main reason I booked this hotel as I had a car. On booking in I was told the parking featured on booking. Com at a rate of £10 for 24 hours was Not Available. Resulting in paying £41 !!! Alternative parking was Oark and Ride outside the city I am shocked as the parking was my sole reason for booking this hotel as it was quoted in booking. Com website

Great location but lacking in facilities

Good location for Oxford Centre

No lift to upper floors makes accessible difficult. Also rooms are relatively basic…no fridge, shower was under powered and room furniture was tired.

Certainly good enough to prompt a second stay.

The staff were lovely. the room was clean, the hotel is well looked after. Aircon in the room was good, nice selection of tea and coffee, biscuits and bottled water were all very welcome.

The bathroom... The shower is tepid and uncontrollable, the main light and vanity light are on the same switch, I'd prefer to have just the vanity light on alone; and the shower splash door doesn't open past the taps so the water sprays on the floor. Bed was comfortable enough, but not amazing.

Great hotel

Amazing staff; very friendly and helpful. Super location and easy to find (close to station). Very clean room with updated bathroom. We asked for a quiet room and were given a quiet room overlooking the internal courtyard rather than the main road.

Very expensive for the grade of the hotel. We unintentionally picked the weekend at the start of the new university term, so this was probably why it was so expensive. There is no bar or restaurant, although you can access an independent cafe from inside the hotel, rather than having to go outside. There is also a small Sainsbury's supermarket next door. The beds were quite hard.

Great location - a short walk to the centre of Oxford. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know.

We had the most distant room on the top floor and there was no lift, so some weightlifting was required!

the hotel was very close to the train station, but still in a reasonable area convenient to the university and other sights in the city; room was comfortable and recently renovated- little personality but perfectly adequate.

The location is very good, walking to famous point will take 10-20 minutes along the shopping street. The parking service is good, only 10 pounds for every 24 hours. You park first, do not pay on site. After parking, go to the reception and show your car plate number, the stuff will help to pay the parking, you should pay at reception. You can stop near the hotel gate for short minutes to take down luggages or put on luggages. Beside this hotel, there is a Sainsbury's, you can buy food and water there. The stuff of hotel help to use their own microwave in office to warm my food.

Great location. Can walk to everything. Clean rooms with basic supplies. Nice quick checkin and helpful with luggage and parking assistance. 11 am check out helpful. Bed comfy.

Excellent location, new and clean, big toilet and great shower.

The location just next to the train station and close to the town centre was excellent. Although the building was old, the interior seemed very modern and new and very clean. The toilet was very spacious and facilities were generally good. Staff were helpful and friendly. Sainsbury Local was just downstairs and food outlets very close by - ambience was very pleasant.

A small fridge in the room would have been very welcome - perhaps the only item missing.
