The staff were attentive, efficient and polite, and the food was good.
There was nothing that I disliked, but the space at the end of the bed was too small.

Breakfast was good. Car parking was included. Location very convenient for buses into town or to Summertown.
Courtyard room felt a little bit poor quality build. I could hear movement of people above all the time. Toilet was small and too close to the wall and the sink. We had to go across uncovered courtyard to get to room from main part of the hotel.

Very nice independent hotel, the comfiest beds - we ended up stripping the bed so we could find out the brand of mattress. Staff were polite and friendly, and breakfast good.
shower a bit feeble.

Excellent location. Easy walking distance of city centre yet removed from hustle and bustle.
Was listening to BBC Sounds during night via hotel WiFi but it went off so I lost access.
Saturday morning breakfast started at 8.00 which I think is too late.

Room was fine but could hear people in room above us.
I did ask for a quiet room.

The place needs revamping big time. Funny smell, room tired and broken walls. Towels have suspicious stains all over them. Wifi isn’t good. And worst of all the walls are paper thin.

The location suited me and it was a pleasant walk into the city. I will definitely return to Oxford. The staff were lovely.
My first room 76 was under a cistern so there was the sound of the tank filling which affected my sleep. It was like water torture. The following morning they moved me to a ground floor room (71) and this was better but a bit cold. The staff were very apologetic and obliging.
In room 71 you could here the people moving around in the room above mine, which was disconcerting.
Sound proofing was not great in either room.

We had a lovely stay at the Cotswold Lodge Hotel. The property exudes classic charm, with beautifully maintained interiors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were courteous and attentive, and the location is ideal—just a short walk from Oxford’s historic center.
My room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, offering a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was delightful, with a good variety of fresh options.
One of the standout features is the location: bus stops are right outside the hotel, including the hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour stop, which made getting around incredibly easy and stress-free.
However, it’s worth noting that the hotel does not have an elevator. This could be a challenge for guests with mobility issues or heavy luggage, especially if your room is on an upper floor. The staff were happy to assist with bags, but it’s something to consider when booking.

Amber was our waitress and she was very attentive, polite and professional. As one guest was a coeliac, she ensured that all the food ordered was gluten free and not cross contaminated. The breakfast was brilliant and it was nice to be served by someone who was happy and cheerful.
Room was very warm overnight and as we stayed in a court yard room, we had to dodge the rain to enter the main hotel.

A cozy, character filled property. Staff were welcoming and professional. The room was peaceful, clean and safe.
The room and bed were little on the small side.

The location is fantastic and the rooms are clean and comfortable. In room amenities are good and the general standard of the room is great. The hotel was having some decorative updates which is good but the general condition of the hotel is also good.
The breakfast had two prices depending on when you bought it. £16 if the day you arrived for the stay and £21 thereafter. We went for one day of breakfast to see how it was. The breakfast was ok but not worth the price. The bread used for toast is quite cheap and the sausages and bacon are clearly the same. I recommend having a look at the breakfasts available in nearby hotels and at breakfast restaurants in the centre of Oxford as the price is similar but the quality is much better. That’s the only negative I have about the hotel as everything else was great.

The location for a walk into Oxford is brilliant. The breakfast was excellent and service good. The bed was comfortable. Free parking on site!
It needs an update. The building is beautiful but the common parts are looking shabby. The room had a key and not a card key. There was no way to control the heating. The TV was too small . It just looks time to update.

The staff were very professional and kind. They greeted us with a smile and the check-in was quick and painless. The bed was very clean and well turned down.
We booked a King room, but it was very small and I'd have been upset if I'd have been a King. The general upkeep of the hotel and the room was well below par, especially for the price we paid. The window was dirty, even growing moss in the corners, and every surface around door handles and light switches was worn away. The door thresholds were worn away and the bottoms of the doors were splintered. Obviously it can happen, but a light bulb had also gone in the bathroom, which just added to the general sense of decay and shabbiness of the hotel.
The walls and door are not soundproofed at all, so I was woken multiple times during the night by the sounds of other guests, either walking along the hall outside our room or moving around in their rooms. Considering we stayed in the "new" part of the hotel, we would have expected that it would have been built with sound proofing in mind. Sadly that wasn't so.
We did think about having a drink in the bar, but, as I entered, the fishy, stale smell made me turn around and decide to go somewhere else.
I've stayed in many hotels, ranging from hostels up to 6* hotels and this is definitely not a hotel which deserves a 4* rating. Possibly 3*, but it could also be a 2* hotel and I wouldn't have been surprised.

all good except was served smoked salmon with gravelax dill all over it for breakfast as Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. I did eat it but it was not what I was expecting and so I did not have any other breakfasts on the other 2 mornings.

Room was a bit disappointing for the high price (Featured Deluxe Room). Available space was good but felt it could do with updating (paintwork especially).
