Very good location - easy to walk 15 minutes into town. The property was very clean.
This is like a b&b and £160 for a twin room felt overpriced. I’d have liked some hooks in the bathroom or somewhere to put my clothes and really a lock on the bathroom door. The bathroom is rather snug with the loo right up against some boxing. Designated parking would help as I arrived last and there was no obvious space left and I wasn’t sure where to park.

Very good location in North Oxford with good transport networks into the centre. Comfortable and well kept.
My room could have done with a lick of paint.

Once I met the owner he was helpful
The hotel is unmanned. There was no one to welcome me, and once he did arrive there was no explanation for why. The code at the door was incorrect and the check-in details were lacking.

Great location, very clean, most of the amenities you could need. Very easy to check in and helpful host

Great location.
Room 23 is a bit like a prison cell ( not that I’ve ever been in one) it’s very compact to be kind !

I loved the old charm of the Hotel. The reception/lobby area was welcoming and spacious and a great place to meet up with family/friends especially early mornings.
Mr. Costa was just brilliant. He was responsive via email all along from the time I made my booking online, to responding to all my last minute requests over text, to even being present when I checked in early morning way before Check in time. He was kind and considerate to keep my bags before and after check in/out as well as place them in my room before I arrived back. he constantly made sure we were well taken care of and was an absolute pleasure to converse with.
A small but well appreciated addition in the room was the table fan. Yes Oxford is cool even in the Summer, but some extra circulation in the room is always very well appreciated.
If there's 2 things I could change it would be:
- An elevator (although I understand its a Heritage property) but an olden style vertical lift would've been convenient considering I was on my last leg of my 3 week holiday in Europe.
- The size of the shower cubicle could've been a wee bit bigger.

It's in a great location- not too far away from the centre but far enough you don't get many students/foot traffic.
Staff were very accommodating and friendly, facilities were clean and all reasonably priced. Just a really good stay in Oxford.
No breakfast but the staff knew of some great places to get food within a 10min walk so not really a negative.

Good location. Lovely old house.
Owner was very helpful
It wasn’t that clean, tired, mismatching furniture and we were is a twin room. Bed not that comfy.
Plug for kettle was a bit ‘iffy’
A bottle of water and biscuits would have been a nice touch.

Clean room. Parking outside (cost 10GBP per night). Walking distance (20min) to central Oxford. Supereasy check-in, also after hours. A bit of traffic noise from the main street right outside. Good value for money for Oxford.
Only accomodation, no staff available outside of cleaning times, no food service, although we could se that they had previously offered breakfast service.
Beds are a bit hard.

No breakfast provided but location perfect, in perhaps the best part of Oxford. Sensible walking distance from the city centre and with buses for those who are not so keen on exercise. Further north, just a bit, is Sommertown which has some excellent shops and restaurants.
Nothing.

The checkout was earlier than expected at 10 am

Very comfortable bed and nice en suite bathroom in a large and beautiful house. The location is a little out of the centre of Oxford though is perfectly walkable and there is a bus stop very close by if you don't wish to walk.
Whilst the room itself was fine, the feeling of the communal spaces is rather 'clinical', almost like it was once an old people's home. The room given did not match the picture of the room shown when booking, which was disappointing. The room looked out onto an unsightly shed roof and the main road, which was very noisy. Having made the booking, I was then bombarded by messages saying that I had to complete some kind of bank approval for the payment. They sent an absurd number of messages through booking.com and then even sent me a WhatsApp message to the same effect, even though I had not consented to be contacted in this manner, particularly given that booking.com is clear about avoiding communications outside of the site. This was extremely displeasing. This was also virtually the only connection I had to any staff; there were no staff at the property at all, from what I could tell.

Comfortable, cleanliness, well maintained, easy to get into the city centre, great communication beforehand
One of the single bedrooms could do with a new mattress (dip in middle & soft)

Located close to Oxford centre.
No drawers for clothes. No safe. Charge for parking was a bit expensive since my car was covered in bird poo when I left.
8.0 / 10.0
I had a small but very clean and reasonably comfortable room, and enjoyed walking to and around the property, central Oxford, and Summertown.
I didn’t see another person the whole time I was there which was ok but a bit lonely.
9.0 / 10.0
The property was lovely, just a 20-25 minute walk from the city center. The room was quite small but very cosy. the bathroom was clean and comfortable. The property was clean and quiet; checking in and out was easy. We stayed for the weekend and we were happy with our stay!
Perhaps the room was a bit cramped with our bags, but it was sufficient.
6.0 / 10.0
For the location, the price was OK, but not when factoring in everything else.
The rooms were quite small relative to the price, and the bathroom wasn't quite clean. The heating was turned up to maximum with no obvious thermostat. However, what was most odd was the entirely no-contact check-in, so we had no one to ask for assistance or to welcome us to the hotel. Though we occasionally heard other guests the whole place seemed abandoned. Google rates it a four-star hotel, but I didn't see any of the facilities I would expect from a four star hotel based on the AA guidance.

On this second stay I knew there was no breakfast available nearby so brought my own. The owner was there to help me with the code for my room which is otherwise very impersonal. The bed is very comfortable and the decor is delightful.
Booking.com describe it as a Bed&Breakfast, which it isn't. The room is comfortable but impersonal and parking is extra but the venue was useful for work.
5.0 / 10.0
There was no breakfast, a fact that was not made clear by Booking.com when I booked. The owner told me that there was a breakfast cafe 10 mins walk away. It was 20 mins walk and didn't open till 9.30am, too late for me as I had to go to work.
No breakfast. However on the hotel website no breakfast was mentioned, unlike Booking.com, so it was not really the fault of the owner.

Plenty of parking space, well kept interior, friendly host.
Small point - toilet seat coming loose in my room 23

The room was clean and comfortable. There were no problems.
I found the check in process efficient and effective, but a little impersonal. I did not see another person during my stay, except for a friendly goodbye from a host/staff member who happened to be in the stairwell as I walked out the front door.

Lovely large, comfortable room, quiet, a great location with easy access into Oxford. The owner was really friendly and helpful!
The only slightly negative thing was the shower was not very powerful.
8.0 / 10.0
Quiet, clean, easy to find and parking, location ok for Oxford centre as bus stop nearby and to Summertown for cafes and restaurants
Expensive for what it was, but that’s Oxford.
7.0 / 10.0
Good location for bus into town centre. Owner present and helpful, responded to any needs. Quiet, safe area.
Single room was a bit small but adequate for 1 or 2 nights. Shower was rather tricky to set to a medium temperature. Breakfast option would have been nice on or close to the premises.

Parking was good. The room was clean.
Tiny room, for two people with two suitcases a challenge. Very unpersonal. We did not meet the host at all. Loud. Price-value did not match.

The manager was friendly and location 20-30 minute walk to central Oxford
Checkin at 4pm and checkout at 10am, felt pretty rushed. Parking normally charged at £10 extra (although apparently I was let off this time but was allowed to leave my car there until 2pm). Also no breakfast facilities...all would be acceptable but then you remember how much you spent on the shabby but clean room and feel like you have been ripped off.

Our room was lovely and well thought out and equipped with everything we needed, in useful places (sockets and a variety of lighting). The bathroom was a good size and nicely done, with the low level lighting a nice touch. Whilst the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, the table and chairs in the room made having your own continental breakfast easy to do. Having parking on site was great. The walk into town was easy and flat. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Would start again
Could have done with a few more hangers in the wardrobe

Costa the property manager was present when we arrived and when we left. He was most helpful and friendly. As breakfast was not available on the day we were there, Costa helpfully suggested suitable local restaurants and agreed for us to leave our car in the carpark until 11.00 am.
Breakfast on site would have been ideal, especially if the weather had been inclement.
