Good location and nice room. Refrigerator was great as well as washing machine. Great to have.
Parking was a big problem until I discovered the church parking lot about a 10 minute walk away. The photo doesn’t really show it is just another house on a busy street. The help locate call was located in India.

When travelling outside of Canada, I try and stay in unique older properties and this wouldn’t fit the bill. Nice location easy to walk to anything that we wanted to get to would definitely consider going back if I’m in the area again.

The shower was great, powerful and lots of hot water. The location is within walking distance of the town centre. There is also a communal kitchen, with a fridge etc. Also there is a washing & drying machine which we made use of. There is also a sitting room with dining table & comfortable chairs/settees.
We stayed in Room 9 on the ground floor, which felt dark, dull, and cramped. While we opted for an en-suite room, the retrofitted bathroom pod dominates the entire space. It is positioned directly opposite the window, completely blocking any natural light. Because of the pod's size, the double bed is pushed hard against the wall on one side, making it highly inconvenient for the person sleeping on that side to get out of bed during the night. The en-suite pod itself appears brand new and is very nice on its own, but it is simply too large for this room. There is no residual or ambient light inside it; if you shut the door at night, it is pitch black. To avoid turning on the bright main bathroom light in the middle of the night when using the toilet, we had to leave the bedroom curtains slightly open to let some street light filter through. Parking is another major downside. All surrounding side streets are strictly permit-only. We managed to pull up briefly on a side street just to unload our bags, but overnight parking was a massive challenge. There is a nearby Tesco, but parking there is restricted to two hours, and we saw no obvious long-stay options. Ultimately, we had to use the Cathedral car park. About £5 for 24 hours, the price is reasonable, but it is a considerable distance to walk back to/from the accommodation with luggage if you can't park to drop off/pick up. The view from the room was awful - I know not everywhere can have an outstanding view, but the view was an untended garden. The front of the property has also been left to its own devices - dead leaves everywhere, overgrown plants, lots of weeds & dead plants. In all honesty the accommodation has the feel of a HMO!
