Great stay could be a lot better

Clean , warm , good facilities , free WiFi , good breakfast

The bed was very uncomfortable , mattress extremely soft and unsupportive . Decor in room and bathroom poor . Water did not drain from sink in bathroom causing it to overflow . Room design poor , reading light on opposite side of room

I recommend this hostel to everyone - all age brackets & nationalities.

There are plenty of areas in the hostel for you to feel comfortable outside of your own particular dorm or bedroom. The hostel has a lounge where everyone is very welcome to go and sit as well as a games room and also a workspace area with benches around the wall where you can plug your device in. The staff are very friendly, kind and informative.

Well managed self cooking kitchen and space for groceries, beautiful reception and waiting area, clean baths and toilets

Good hostel

4☆ accommodation, SYHA vary from place to place, all good, this hostel is a very nice hostel indeed and large in capacity. Enjoy.

Personally nothing. If you are new to hostelling you may find that the transition between hotelling and hostilling is perhaps a step down, however if you are a socialite then be prepared to meet people from virtually every country each with their own story to tell.

Lovely stay in the heart of Inverness

Liked the location as its about 15 minutes away from the train station and the city centre. Room was cosy and clean. Shout out to Lola who made my stay welcoming and giving me great advice about what to see and do around Inverness :)

My only complaint would be there was only two plug sockets (plus 2 USB sockets) for charging per room

Great stay in Inverness

I just stayed for a night, but it was a great experience. The rooms are nice and clean, the beds are comfortable. Also, in general, it's clean and tidy everywhere in the hostel, which is really nice. There are some common areas too, and a nice kitchen. Pretty much everything you can wish for in a hostel. I definitely recommend it for your stay :)

More than met my needs.

Didn't have the breakfast. Nest time, perhaps. Room was clean and warm during a cold few days. Good internet connection. Excellent shower head on shower and constant hot water. Warm greeting and friendly staff.

Would have liked a desk and chair at which to do laptop work. Instead had to work on the bed.

I really liked my stay here. I stayed in a 6 bed room. It was fairly spacious and had lockers for a backpack and a carryon size bag but not big enough for a checked size bag. I liked that if you arrived before your check-in time you could leave your baggage in a storage area and go explore until your room is ready. The beds were comfortable. There was showers and bathrooms right across the hallway which was super convenient and I never had a problem getting into the toilet or shower when I wanted to. I think I came at a slower time of the year because there was not a lot of other people at the hostel but the hostel is also a pretty decent size.

I do not really have any complaints as I really enjoyed my experience. The building is older and does not have too much of a modern look or feel but is cozy.

Comfy, feel welcomed

The location is really nice, you can walk to the museum, castle, city centre, river ness, bus and train station all within 30 mins. Staff was so nice and the bed is comfy

Overpriced, the room was very basic and the beds very uncomfortable. The hotel takes advantage of its location to charge very high prices.

My whole outlook on hostels has changed x

I've never stayed in a hostel till now. At 54 travelling alone as a woman I was more than skeptical. Clean, well equipped, spacious and easy to find. Friendly people from everyone and all ages I was more than pleasantly surprised.

If you can land a private room here, you'll save some money with no real compromise.

I booked a single room with en-suite. Compared to other available accommodation, this we significantly cheaper. Staying in hostel with a kitchen beat a hotel, because I could cook my own dinner - particularly worthwhile since the hostel is located over 1/2 mile from the city centre facilities.; the kitchen is also a great place to chat. My room was large (there was evidence it had once been a bunk room. The shower was excellent.

Nothing really; it's worth being aware it is a relatively large building. It was a bit of a walk from my room to the kitchen.

My first experience of shared dorm accommodation. I was nervous about disturbing the sleep of other guests. Perhaps this situation could have been avoided by taking a private room.

Great location, very comfortable and clean.

Bedroom had a lovely outlook over trees and open fields and it was very spacious. It was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower worked well, storage was more than ample enough and everything else was thoughtfully supplied such as a towel and the bed was already made up which I appreciated. The hostel is ideally placed for a pleasant walk into town and at the bottom of the road is a convenient bus stop which takes you directly to Inverness Airport. The Dining Room was clean and able to take groups as well as have a enough space for single travellers. The systems in the kitchen for storing food was really great as there were two big fridges and everyone was friendly.

I am only 5 ft 2 inches and the duvet was too small and bit short even for me.

Kitchen facilities’ equipped and clean. Laundry is available. Payment required. Staff friendly. Away from the town bustle and noise. Room is adequate and clean.

Room walls quite thin. Mine was next to a shower room. I heard enough to disrupt my sleep. I stayed for 2 nights. It was used on both nights between 12:30am-1am. It was quiet before that. Noise from kitchen/dining area that was immediately below the room after 11pm. Perhaps the lights in the dining room can be dimmed further after 11pm or 12mn.

The hostel was the only accommodation available in Inverness

The accommodation is a Youth Hostel , the mattress on the bed was awful , way too soft . The decor in my private room was tired . The lighting was poor .
