Has potential but let down by some basic things

nice apparently in a very clean and modern building that is part of a retirement complex. beds are comfortable and a good sized space. good facilities on site with pool and gym although please be mindful these are designed for the residents.

I do have a couple of issues with the way the property is advertised which are as follows 1. not specific to the site however we were sent a message an hour before we were due to arrive saying our booking couldn't be facilitated at this location and an address was sent for a different site around 20 mins from this one from the same company. not an issue however this was pretty short notice. 2. the kitchen is very poorly equipped which for a self catering apartment isn't ideal. I don't expect the world however the kitchen was missing kitchen knives for actually cutting anything with (I had to cut potatoes with a butter knife) there was a single crepe pan and no actual frying pan and no bottle opener which I would generally consider to be fairly basic things in a kitchen. also for ab apartment that sleeps 4 people there were only 3 sets of cutlery and 2 chairs for dining which is quite odd. (especially when you have to use the cutlery for cooking in the first place. 3. there was no hairdryer in the apartment despite the listing suggesting there is. this was a pain for my wife and daughter who couldn't dry their hair for 3 days. the above would be simple to remedy and would lead to a much more comfortable stay

For swimming pool access and a perfect stop-over

The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with electric blinds. The car parking is excellent. The general atmosphere is perfect. The staff were extremely polite. For a family, the swimming pool access is amazing and this was our no.1 priority - on our stay, we had almost exclusive use of it - perfect changing areas, 30 degrees, well managed in terms of chlorine and ph. The venue felt utterly safe as most residents were 'seniors' or nice families. It was very quiet in the evenings. We will definitely be returning as UK visitors exploring northern France / Belgium. Each room - for 3 - was about E100 per night on a kids' holiday term.

This is a sheltered housing complex for 'seniors'. We have used similar establishments before on the basis of good value, so not a problem. But that means that there is no effective breakfast / dinner / bar provision. This is ok if you realise this. There are some amazing restaurants nearby anyway. The pool did have signs stating use of swimming caps which we see in France often, but thankfully the staff did not enforce this. The sauna was set at 30 degrees which is a bit too low, and the pool had a jacuzzi feature but this was only activated on one day of our visit.

When I booked it said the location was closer to the town center on Google maps it says 1.5 hours to walk but I got a cab only 7 euros on bolt wasn't too bad

Le logement, la résidence, les activités mais malheureusement piscine fermé car les tests de l'eau n'était pas bon. J aurais aimé être avertie car s était un critère de notre choix important nous venions avec nos enfants.

De ne pas avoir était averti de la fermeture de la piscine. Cela faisait une semaine qu'elle n'était pas ouverte et le personnel avez pour ordre de ne pas l'ouvrir ce weekend. Donc ils le savaient.

Welnessfaciliteiten niet in orde en hierover slecht gecommuniceerd.

De plek was netjes.

Het zwembad en de sauna waren gesloten. We hadden speciaal hiervoor de locatie geboekt. Uit gesprekjes met bewoners bleek het zwembad al langer niet in gebruik. We zijn hiervan niet van te voren op de hoogte gebracht. Dit was een teleurstelling. Voor hetzelfde bedrag hadden we een centrale locatie zonder zwembad en sauna kunnen boeken. Het gebrek aan communicatie hierover was zeer jammer.

Très bien

Tout est très bien, la résidence est neuve. Les chambres sont spacieuses et propre. Il est facilement possible de stationner facilement sur le parking de la résidence. Et l'accès à la piscine est très appréciable après sa journée de travail.

Dommage que le petit déjeuner ne se présente pas sous forme de buffet.
