Clean modern apartment with everything we needed for a one night stay. Easy to walk into York city centre. The host was easy to contact.
The apartment building was a bit worse for wear and the apartment smelt like smoke - not sure if it was from the apartment downstairs. The logistics of carrying the luggage up 3/4 flights of stairs was a bit of a nightmare especially with two children.

Quirky apartment, very homely and spacious once inside, present surprise
The gates to get in from the carpark and stairs, I feel this should have been mentioned incase you have anyone with mobility issues. Luckily we where all good.
Car park area very small I only just got my car (ford smax) down the lane and parked

Comfortable main bed. Nicely appointed kitchen and bathroom. Perfectly clean throughout.
The entrance was difficult to find and instructions for finding it aren’t as clear as they could’ve been, a marked map and photos would’ve been helpful.
The location of the key safe wasn’t obvious, I eventually asked a neighbour to help, and there are a ridiculous number of keys on a big jangly key ring, all needed for 2x gates and 2x doors to get in!
The light up to the top floor doesn’t stay on for more than a few seconds and you can’t switch it on at the top so you need your phone torch on.
There’s some wear and tear in the kitchen/bathroom but nothing off-putting although the bathroom towels could do with replacing.
The road is noisy but you can’t hear that at the top.
The main issue for me was communication with the host. I run an Airbnb and get email notifications immediately with queries from guests and deal with them within a few minutes or an hour at most when I’m at work. The host here took so long to reply, a couple of days at one point to answer questions, it was really frustrating.
