Fantastic place to stay really good location.

Location, price, cleanliness great communication, very accommodating and very pleasant with great service.

Size of yard is extremely small for dogs, really poor oven, back door sticking, mattress and little hard.

Location was excellent & the property was spacious & warm. Helpful hosts.

The property is advertised as a 'cottage' but it's a small house: it needs some attention in terms of the decor & comfort for the price. The sofa cushions slide off, the toilets didn't flush well, the curtains were wonky & the pictures were mostly damaged; the showers were also not great. With a bit of an upgrade, this would be well worth what is charged. We really enjoyed our stay as we had what we needed - the location was great and the hosts were helpful & responsive.

Both beds were 5ft/150cm, which felt very narrow. Both bedrooms could take wider beds. The downstairs toilet didn’t stop running. More crockery/glasses would be good.

Few issues

Spacious house, very clean, great location for city centre.

Not so welcoming. Digital parking instructions were unclear, had to chase this up beforehand and even on arrival to the street. Would have been good to have some milk in fridge as the nearest shop was a long walk uphill. Unable to open bedroom windows so very stuffy through the night.

A disappointing experience and would certainly not return to this property.

If the key safe had worked correctly, this was a good way of collecting the keys. Key safe had to be replaced!

There was hardly any cooking equipment in the cottage, none of the bathroom over mirror lights worked, none of the outside lights worked, some of the windows did not open, the bathroom radiators did not work, there is dangerous brickwork by the front gate, no inventory of equipment, no ovenware, only a few glasses, backdoor lock did not working properly. The list goes on! When we first arrived, the cottage had not been cleaned after the previous occupier had left. This was quickly rectified. The property lacks TLC, all it needs is for the managing company to pay attention to details. They did react to my concerns, but there is absolutely no proactive approach to managing the property, hoping to get away with what they can. We stay away a lot in rented holiday homes, and this was probably the worst example. Poorly managed and poorly equipped, and worst of all, it has so much potential.

Wonderful location, free parking, great layout of property, welcoming

Ensuite in smaller bedroom, the toilet flush was broken on arrival. Agency were informed and also followed up by text and email. This was not fixed before we left!

Amazing cottage walking distance from York.

We loved this cottage. Had everything you needed. Close to york city center. Would defo stay here again.

It has a little court yard that is unusable, would look nice with a lick of paint and possibly table and cpl chairs. Bed in our room small double. We are not the slimmest of people, made it very cosy let's say.

Wasn’t the cleanest property. Moved bed and they was dust everywhere. Kitchen utensils were poor , falling apart and need replacing. Mix and match of plates etc. Back door key is stuck and doesn’t operate properly. Bed in main room is far too small also. Great location and parking spot on. Sofa comfy and TV great.

The location is great, not far from train station (we came by train). Cleanness of the cottage was great. My sister came by car and parking was provided. Awesome. The beds very comfortable. Loved it.

One of toilets didn't have toilet paper but this was really minor thing.

Stay was great, very comfortable and the bonus was each bedroom had their own bathroom.

Great location, within walking distance to the city centre. Parking was free with permit arranged by the host and was on the street outside the property.

Dishwasher did not clean particularly well, we had to re wash dishes by hand.

Absolutely fabulous

Great space with the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the washing machine was well needed at this point in our travels. The location was fantastic, an easy flat walk into York and all the sights. We parked the car and didn't need it again until we left. Great communication. Loved our stay and would definitely return if visiting York and the UK again.

A lovely cottage

Sycamore Cottage was clean, welcoming and fully equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the ceilings are high, giving it a light and airy feel (my 6' 7" husband felt very comfortable!). There is an added bonus as each room has an ensuite and there is a downstairs loo too! The location is very close to the town centre, no more than a seven minute walk. Parking is a doddle and it's located in a quiet area.

Ideal & quiet location but property could do with an update

Self catering suited our needs. Property spacious & very central within easy walking distance to town centre.

Slight lack of kitchen equipment - towels supplied for bedrooms but none supplied for kitchen only 1 T-towel. Larger bedroom spacious - smaller bedroom bed much smaller & didnt accommodate adults comfortably. En suite bathrooms ideal but only 1 person could have a shower at a time.

Great location for exploring York.

Great location right in the middle of town, equipped with everything you needed for a mini break.

The beds were small - fine for the children but not great for a couple sharing.

Ideally situated for a city break for up to 4 adults.

Location to city centre was fabulous - 10 mins walk. Plenty of space for 4 adults. Great selection of books and DVDs. Parking permit for on street parking was essential and appreciated.

Kitchen could have been a bit cleaner - grease on the worktop next to cooker, dishtowel not usable as it didn't smell clean (unpleasant smell of grease), thermostat on one of the showers was too tight to turn, back door lock very near impossible to lock up.

The flat is spacious and clean. The location is fantastic within walking distance to the center. Great for dog owners with easy access to the big meadow and river walk. However our biggest disappointment is the beds are very small and short, especially the smaller bedroom one. The mattress is poor quality too, I had a back ache every morning. The windows in the small bedroom can not be opened as sealed with paint. The agent is friendly and efficient, but the landlord should invest some decent beds.

Very comfortable and cosy, spacious and beds really comfortable. Clean and tidy and easy access to bins. En suite bathrooms fantastic.

One of the shower nobs was very difficult to move and got jammed on the hot setting at one point. Plug in the bath not attached to chain so had to get some string to take it out! Other than that a great property.
