The Coach House, York

The property was in an ideal location within an easy flat 10 minute walk of York city centre. It’s a quirky cottage with lovely pictures and little cute ornaments wherever you look. The little terrace was a lovely addition especially as it was so hot while we were there. It was a good size for 3 couples to have their own space.

Not a major issue but there was quite a lot of cobwebs and the floor didn’t look hoovered and definitely hadn’t been washed. We spilled a little water on the floor and when we wiped it up the paper towel was very dirty.

Quirky house, fabulous location! Well designed and great decor full of charm. Outdoor terrace is the perfect sun trap and looks beautiful lit up at night. Hairdryers were a welcome surprise in the rooms. The different levels made it a really different, fun experience. The living space downstairs stayed lovely and cool in the heatwave! Great communication from host which definitely made life easier.

Outdoor terrace needs a little extra attention as it is a lovely space to use. In the photos the terrace looks well kempt and very clean. It seemed to not have been swept or wiped down. There were also not enough cushions for the rattan furniture. We enjoyed it anyway and wouldn't let this put us off coming again. A little tlc and it will be back to how I imagine it was originally. The feel of the property is lovely, few small changes would make it perfect. Our booking was last minute which could be why it didn't seem finished. The kitchen floor felt like it needed cleaning. There was a mop but no bucket so I couldn't do this myself. Overall we had a lovely stay and loved the quirks of the property.
