Comfortable and fantastic house to see in the New Year.

We loved the location and having a car spot was great for our trips out onto the country. The house was beautifully decorated and we felt right at home.

The main bed was a rattly when you moved.

York Stay at Christmas 2025

Place is clean, comfortable and has everything you require as though you are still at home. Location great, approximately ten to fifteen minutes walk to York City Centre. Local shops ten minutes away, which has a lovely chip shop as well. There is a small little field with a fenced kids park at the bottom of the road, great for dog owners.

Could do with another sofa for guests with more than two staying. Also, an additional parking permit would be handy if two couples are staying together and having to travel in two cars. The road isn't heavily parked, plenty of spaces available during our stay. Although there is a 24 hour car park, about 5 minute walk away, not ideal for peace of mind and extra expense.

On balance a great self-catering short stay property for a holiday..

Its location, being close to the city centre. Quiet neighbourhood. Welcome pack left by hosts. Utility room. Spacious.

Windows (some) difficult to open/close. Front door mortise lock panel loose on outside. Inadequate shelving and/or cupboard space in 1st floor en-suite. The position of the gas boiler in the utility room is a head-room hazard being so close to the WC.

Lovely place

Great location with short walk to town. Plenty of storage space at master bedroom. Good amenities. Nice touch with variety of tea. Fridge had orange juice, milk and white wine. Car parking space right outside location. Nice to have additional downstairs toilet as well.

Would have liked shelves or more storage space in bathroom to put toiletries. Attic rooms flooring can be quite squeaky. Quite surprising to have to pull all bedding off upon departure. Be careful about showering as not both bathroom showers can be used at same time. No hot water when other shower being used.

Def recommend for a stay in York!

Great location. Only 10 min walk into centre of York. Very clean n well set out etc Such nice welcome back of essentials and treats- very thoughtful and much appreciated!

Bedroom on top floor is very cramped. We had it set up as a twin room n floor was so creaky, it disturbed the one underneath. I think if the top floor is set up as a double, the bed would be over the creaky part of the flooring, n this issue would be resolved! Also the loo being down a steep flight of stairs wasn’t ideal during the night, but…. just a small inconvenience in an otherwise perfect property!

Fabulous!

Excellent location and really easy to walk into the centre of York. Tastefully decorated / furnished and very well equipped. Delighted that our little dog was accommodated too. The welcome items were a much appreciated surprise, so too was the supply of some basics (dishwasher tablets, cloths, toilet roll, soaps)

The locks on the patio doors were a bit fiddly but really not a big problem.

Excellent location for getting into town centre, but peaceful area for stay. House was very well equipped with a lovely welcome pack on arrival.

Wonderful stay in beautiful York in clean, homely and cosy house in a superb location

Wonderful stay in this exceptionally clean accommodation. The beds were super comfy and the bedding high quality. Lovely little touches, clear instructions for our stay, easy to check in and the host sorted out on street parking for both our cars. Location was fantastic, would absolutely stay here again - couldn’t recommend this home highly enough.

Nice to have quality toiletries for our use. Also really appreciated the milk, orange juice and wine etc! Very thoughtful!

The squeaky floor up in the attic bedroom does need some attention! Unfortunately the slightest tread produced the most annoyingly loud creaks and squeaks down in the underneath bedrooms!
