Location & only 2 nights was the only reason we stayed on and didn’t find alternative accommodation

Location was ideal

Lack of blinds at windows, Lack of carpeting and warmth, very unwelcoming and bare, not enough seating in lounge, very damp smell in the air and stained pillow cases.

The property is beautiful. Very tastefully decorated and cosy. The location is fantastic! Around a mile to York Minster and all there is to see and do in York. Plenty of on street parking and a peaceful part of town. The hosts were lovely - very responsive and forthcoming with the information we needed. Highly recommend.

The only downside to the property is that is a little difficult to accommodate more than three people comfortably in the living room. That said, with so much exploring to do, time spent indoors is limited. And a few glasses would be welcome! Minor issues with a lovely house.

Very poor for the price , I could have got a better apartment for less

Not a lot,

The kitchen is not prepared for an apartment as it states on your website. The kitchen had no microwave which is a necessity when you plan to eat meals at home, no baking trays for the oven a all the plates and cutlery was not clean , you should see the frying pan I refused to use.

Saying all that it did not spoil our holiday and still had a pleasant stay

Plenty of room to accommodate for the 4 people in our group. Main bedroom large and comfy. Kitchen everything you need for our stay.

The living room furniture wasn’t very comfy and it was very low and there was only enough for 3 people to sit down. It is a shame to say something negative about the bath as it is beautiful but our group is starting to get old and we found it a bit hard to get in and out of it.

Great location for a weekend stay for 4 people

Clean and well located. Lots of clean bed linen and towels.

Key lock box was a little fiddly and no bread knife. Very small points as overall we were very satisfied.

The house was so close to the centre and it was a nice walk. Very clean and everything you needed for a lovely stay.

The single beds are not very comfortable. More information about parking outside the house, as we received a parking ticket in the morning.

Uncomfortable and not very clean

The house has character and is close to the train station and bus stop (you do have to cross a bridge with steep stairs, though). The neighborhood is nice. The TV has Netflix.

The beds were just really uncomfortable. As I have read in the previous reviews of the last year or so, they have been uncomfortable for a while and the owner hasn't changed it. The double bed has a dent in the middle, the two single beds are incredibly squeaky, and the pull out is just hard and uncomfortable. The floor in the dining room has a carpet which is just dirty. Also, the chairs aren't really comfy. What was annoying is that the kitchen was not well outfitted at all. There are not enough plates, glasses, etc for everyone (only one wine glass, two water glasses, etc). There are no oven plates. The pan handles are loose. There's no scissors. The most negative point of this apartment is the cleanliness of the kitchen: the kitchen cabinets were dirty on the inside and the handles were sticky, not to mention the cooker hood.

Great location, nice house!

Great location, rooms were big enough, comfortable beds, very clean, enclosed back yard. Ideal for city and racecourse.

Not sure oven worked properly as pizzas took ages to cook. Bistro set/table and chairs in the back yard would have been handy when sitting outside.

Great place to stay

Great location just outside the city, great shower. Communication with owner fantastic. Main bedroom was beautiful, there was everything you need in the house

It was clean, equipped with everything we needed, and the shower was nice.

Very close to town and amenities enjoyed our stay but could do with a few changes as listed below ok if your mobilaty is good owner was quick to reply and agreed to Ower needs ie early check in

Single beds to low and uncomfortable woke up with a bad back every morning double bed ok but still uncomfortable no carpets so very echoe stairs slippy sofa in tv room to low and uncomfortable no tin opener or microwave it allows pets so cheap carpets would do update also no tray in oven for someone with limited mobility not recommended

Cheap house for a group visit to York

It was clean and had everything we needed maybe not enough lol rolls

It needed carpets, we got splinters in feet and the floors were cold and you house echoed

Enjoyable stay with family and would return

The property was within a 20 minute walk from the city centre. The bathroom was very well fitted out with a lovely shower over the bath. The property is in a quiet location. The owner communicated very well with us prior to arrival and the wifi connection was a saving grace with two teenage children.

Some areas were now appearing to be worn i.e. under the boiler in the bathroom there is damp and the pipework is not boxed in. The children's room could do with proper beds which do not creak all night every time you turn/move. The outside area could be weeded and an outside table and chairs would be a good idea. But otherwise all was fine and we thank the owner for their hospitality.

Charming older style home within walking distance of train station

Charming older property which has been nicely renovated, in a quiet area very close to the train station and easily walkable. A lovely bathroom with claw foot slipper bath and some other antique furniture such as an old settle which were utterly delightful. Easily accommodated our family of 5 for two nights and price was very reasonable.

Fitout is a bit minimalistic, the property could really do with a few throw blankets and cushions to make it feel more homey. Foldout bed in the lounge is a bit hard to handle and once it is set up, it's hard to put back together so we just left it out the entire time, which meant there was no real lounge room to use for the family to gather in. In any case the room had one armchair and the two seater sofa bed and no coffee table so it would not have accommodated us all anyway. Very steep stairs which might not suit everyone but perfectly understandable considering the age of the home. Two very low beds in the second bedroom which are comfortable enough for a night or two but quite hard and creaky so not really suited to a long stay. The kitchen was reasonably well appointed but there were some metal filings floating about in the cordless kettle so we could not use that at all, which was disappointing. If you do walk to the property, be prepared for a steep flight or two of stairs as you have to cross the railway lines via an overpass, so not ideal if you have heavy suitcases or mobility issues.

From the beginning I can say that the host was very kind, he collaborated with us and provided us with details about the house. When we arrived at the location, we were really surprised by everything in this house: cleanliness, comfort, everything absolutely impeccable.❤️We recommend this accommodation to everyone with all confidence. You will have a dream stay.

We liked some aspects of the apartment but we feel it could be made much better AG very little

The host Cornelia is excellent. The property is light and airy. Well located. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms were clean.

The floors had not been well vacuumed. The single beds were very noisy and not comfortable. We felt the kitchen was not well equipped with the basics which we find in other similar places. For example no oven tray to warm things up in the oven.

Great location, lovely but sparse

Convenient to city centre and on a quiet street. Use of the whole house which is great when travelling with kids. Clean and tidy. Had an issue with hot water and this was resolved promptly so thank you.

Mattress in main bedroom has an indentation in the middle so you roll into each other. Living room is not comfortable to sit and watch tv together. No oven trays at all so nothing to put food on to cook. Only one wine glass!! Random House is too sparse and with no carpets or much furniture it echos badly

I loved York, but the house was disappointing.

Location convenient for the railway station, and a shortish walk from the city.

The furnishings are bare and spartan. The central heating was not working when I arrived, though in fairness someone came to fix it soon after. The kitchen is poorly equipped, so self catering is problematic. The seating in the lounge is uncomfortable.

location was great communication with owner was fantastic everything you need was there lovely roll top bath

as previous reviews state single beds creak when you turn and too low ok for children I guess while mattresses are comfy the beds themselves are too low There's no where to sit comfortably to watch tv as 4 adults the only place we could sit and chat was at dining room table very minimal in every room which works but missing a few homely touches in my opinion shower curtain also needs replacing no blinds in bathroom so while in shower if you open window neighbours opposite can see straight in

Location was near the train station, parking outside the house. Lovely bathroom and kitchen.

Very basic, only a two seater pull out bed in sitting room not comfortable and no where for more than two people, had to sit in kitchen at all times. Single beds creaked all night and so near the floor.

Nice and clean and tidy

Couldn’t lick door from inside very easy, very poor lighting in bathroom, needed a few rugs and pictures to make it less echoey , curtains needed in bedroom and a blind in bathroom

Cuisine sale et grasse, ustensile usés et abîmés, salon tv inconfortable et limité en place. La literie de la chambre à 2 lits est très bruyante. Le sol de la chambre à grand lit est dangereux avec une pointe qui dépasse (risque de blessure au pied) La salle de bain contient un mur poreux et dégradé. La brosse des toilettes est une honte tellement elle est dégradée.
