Great place

Booked for races weekend was perfect location 5 minutes walk to entrance of York races. Very clean and good facilities for cooking and cleaning.

The apartment was comfortable, clean, tidy and convenient for access to the racecourse or for access to York by car. It’s about a half hour walk to the city centre. There's a local bakery and convenience store nearby and we found on street parking for one car. In the first floor apartment, There’s a small kitchen with a full cooker, microwave, kettle, fridge and washer dryer. The dining table only seats four so you may need to also sit on a bed. The beds are comfortable with bedding and towels supplied. The shower works well but the position of the bathroom cabinet and hanging rails in the bed spaces could be better placed. (A mirror tile in the wall behind the bathroom sink would improve that space and hanging rails where they can be reached would be much safer). The kitchen lacked a tin opener and any small saucepans. Hopefully, that will soon be rectified. The WiFi was great once we worked out how to connect - there weren’t any helpful instructions. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend it. Overall, we had an okay stay, but I feel the property was overpriced for what it offered. The location was convenient, around a 30-minute walk or 25-minute bus journey into York city centre. Having on-site parking was a real bonus, as was the nearby supermarket. We also appreciated the baby gate on the stairs, and our children loved sleeping in the bunk beds. However, there were several issues that affected our stay. The property is advertised as a two-bedroom apartment, but in reality it has one bedroom with the second bed located in the living room. This meant there was no comfortable living space to relax in. A sofa bed would be a much better solution. There was no lamp or night light and we could not locate the LED lamp that owners suggested when we contacted them. The kitchen was very basically equipped. There was only one very large pot, making it difficult to prepare simple meals such as porridge for two children. A few smaller pots would make a big difference. The kettle was heavily scaled and wasn't working properly, and some of the spoons were rusty. The towels appeared discoloured or bleached, which didn't give a great impression. The bathroom hand wash was empty on arrival, although we did find a replacement bottle under the kitchen sink. It wasn't a major issue, but it felt a little unprofessional. With a few improvements to the maintenance, kitchen equipment and presentation, this could be a much better place to stay.
