Belfrey House

Perfect location for a weekend away with friends. Nice property, clean and tidy.

No parking spaces so opted to travel by train.

The 17th century house is a real gem. It is located just next to the Minster and you could not ask for a better location. The house is old and the floors are not level, but that is part of the charm! If you have mobility issues or difficulties with stairs you might want to book another option. The staff were very good and waited to let us in. The welcome basket was above and beyond anything I’ve seen and was a very nice touch. There is plenty of hot water in the house and the plumbing is good.

There is one step which should be looked after as it is a bit difficult to manage. Everything else was lovely.

Nothing it was perfect

Right in the centre by the Minster and shambles close to the gallery. Easily fit 6 of us in at a great price. The outdoor area was handy. Kitchen was well equipped. The owners were communicative and check in easy.

There were parts requiring cleaning and mending/replacing. Beds upstairs not comfortable. Steep broken staircases. Broken doors and windows. Staircases, window bottoms, shower cubicle all not cleaned in some time. It is also noisy due to the location and gaps around the windows.
