Felt as relaxed as being at home. Easy access to the kitchen and conversation, if you're inclined. At bedtime it was quiet. Everything in their home worked, No mysteries like searching for light switches in the dark.
The greatest feature was location. Taking transportation was unnecessary if you don't mind walking for 15 minutes. From the railway station to the old city, you're on York's doorstep.
Nothing personally but remember, this is an old home so be aware, there are stairs.

Close to station in a nice quiet area which was an easy walk to the city centre.Helpful and friendly hosts. Having access to the kitchen was an advantage. Bed was very comfortable.

Location was excellent, close to train station and centre
Was cold at night and not enough pillows or an extra blanket, cobwebs around the light and spiders in the room but everything else was good

The gentleman who runs it is very nice and very helpful.
Great location to town.
Bedding and towels did smell fresh.
The room itself does not have a television (I know this is not what you go away for but due to rain we did have to get back to the accommodation earlier than planned, also traveled with a child) nor did it have a coffee making area in the room. You are advised you are welcome to use the kitchen area but we did not feel comfortable.
The room could do with general modernisation but our real issue laid with the en-suite noticeable wiped down mould, shower base really needs replacing. Lots of random hairs in the main bathroom area and shower.
For us personally staying in a home where the owner also lives is just not for us.
