Vas's York House

The location is great. The station and major tourist attractions are all within walking distance. The room and the shared restroom are clean.

It's hard to approach kitchen facilities if the host is inside. The host is very strict about how the room amenities are used, which can occasionally create an uncomfortable feeling of being watched. An extra fee is needed if you do laundey there, which is not mentioned on Booking website.

The gentleman who runs it is very nice and very helpful. Great location to town. Bedding and towels did smell fresh.

The room itself does not have a television (I know this is not what you go away for but due to rain we did have to get back to the accommodation earlier than planned, also traveled with a child) nor did it have a coffee making area in the room. You are advised you are welcome to use the kitchen area but we did not feel comfortable. The room could do with general modernisation but our real issue laid with the en-suite noticeable wiped down mould, shower base really needs replacing. Lots of random hairs in the main bathroom area and shower. For us personally staying in a home where the owner also lives is just not for us.
