I'm glad we didn't bring our dog as the back garden isn't fenced in and we would have had to keep him on a lead outside.

The cottage is beautiful and in a great location, right next to the racecourse. The lovely village of Bishopthorpe is also just a 15-minute walk away and offers several delightful pubs. The hosts kept me fully informed before my visit, providing all the details I needed about the cottage. They were also incredibly helpful afterwards when I left something behind and kindly posted it back to me. I couldn’t fault the stay and will definitely be returning.

The location was good for us Beds very comfortable and nice linens
The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Many places had obvious not been cleaned for some time properly. There was no vacuum cleaner for cleaning the rugs and sofa before use. We were there 11 nights and no change of bedding available. The only drying facilities was a tumble dryer which is not always suitable. A clothes dryer/airer would have been useful. Only 1 tea towel, so had to buy our own to use.
