Perfect hotel for a 3 night stay in Avignon

Lovely hotel within a short walking distance from the TGV station and all the sights of Avignon. Staff were very welcoming and keen to help with any questions we had; would highly recommend.

Clean and modern and friendly staff.

Rooms were modern and clean. If you want more space ask for a corner room, but if it’s still summer you may hear some of the bar noise below. It was not a big deal for us. Good breakfast with eggs, fruit and pastries. Nice first floor bar and patio. Location was a bit of a walk to the Popes Place but close to the local train station. Lots of shopping in town.

A bit noisy and the opposite side of town if you want all the restaurants.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend.

The hotel was perfectly situated in the heart of Avignon. We were upgraded on arrival to a suite which was beautiful - very clean, quiet and a with very comfy bed. The staff were professional, friendly and courteous. This hotel was recommended by the Daily Telegraph and didn’t disappoint.

My choice hotel when in Avignon

The hotel is located just 5 minutes from the Avignon Centre train station and is very close to nearby attractions. The room is equipped with air conditioning, which is ideal for summer travel. The reception staff are very friendly, and the beds are comfortable. The hotel offers nice amenities as well - nespresso machine, toiletteries, plush towels, bedroom slippers etc. We felt especially welcomed by a thoughtful note and a gift that awaited us in our room. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Avignon.

Unexpected design gem in Avignon.

We stayed 1 night only on the way back to north, from south coast holiday. Hotel is in the restricted car zone, but the secure city carpark is close by and it was easy 3 min walk, even with some luggage, which in hotel was handled by them. It is lovely renovated property, in the heart of the old town. Very comfortable room, especially the bed. We were too tired to go out and ordered room service, which was very tasty. Staff went out of their way to assist and are real asset in this hotel. There is lots of comments about the showers, so we were aware and didn't get caught by surprise. The bath is obviously a design feature and it works. The only missing thing is a rail to hold onto when getting out. Decent breakfast buffet.

An attractive and well-priced hotel in Avignon.

The hotel is in a great location, very short walk to everything, including the bus station and local train station (not TGV). The room is very attractive and a nice size; the bathroom is big. We do wish there was more room for our clothes. We had the breakfast once during our 5 night stay and it was terrific. The breads were freshly baked. There was a nice array of cheeses, meats cereal, eggs. We thought it was an good value if you like to eat a few items for breakfast. The staff was all very nice and helpful. All in all, we highly recommend the hotel and will stay there again if we return to Avignon.

Good Hotel in Great Location

Our room had been well renovated and featured good facilities: chrome cast tv, tea and coffee maker, very good silent air-conditioning, large windows overlooking a small garden and providing natural ventilation.

A criticism is that the shower cabinet is in the centre of the room and is transparent so no privacy when showering. The room (308) was rectangular with cramped living space and also no wall space to hang wet towels.

The power went off 2 out of 4 nights

The hotel is very well situated, clean and some of the staff was attentive.

Of the 4 nights we spent there, 2 of the nights, the electricity was tripped in our room by merely turning a light on and so the power went off. The first night, the manager went right to the breaker and fixed the problem( which he said had happened before and we suspect, quite often). The second time it happened also by merely turning the lights on on our last night in Avignon, the manager did not know how to fix it, so at 11:30 pm we had to move to another room or else be left in the dark. Upon check out, the clerk said he would reimburse us 15% for the trouble. We said in the US they would compensate our last night and he then said( with very huffy attitude) that he would give us 50% of the last night back. Honestly, given that 2 out of 4 nights the power went out and that they could not even fix it the last night, we did not think that was enough, but we did not want to engage in an argument. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Loved the vibe

The deco was beautiful - art deco, calming colours, large room and bathroom. Location was perfect - not too far from the train station. Beds were super comfortable. Loved the balcony with the street view. We didn’t hear outside noises. Staff were lovely. We wished we could have stayed longer. Great checkout time. Would definitely book here again.

The staff. I have stayed at BW in the past in Bordeaux and Nice. I have been consistently impressed and pleased with the staff. Two women at the front desk, Audrey and Angel, were exceptionally helpful and hospitable. They patiently engaged with me in French knowing I am working on learning the language.

A great little hotel in an extremely central location, perfect for exploring Avignon.

The Reception staff gave us a warm welcome and they were very friendly and helpful at all times. We very much appreciated that we were allocated a room overlooking a private courtyard which was away from the main street and was very quiet.

We took breakfast on one occasion, but we did feel that Eighteen Euros was rather expensive for a buffet do-it-yourself style breakfast with no staff serving.

Highly recommended for your stay in Avignon!

Terrific location and well priced. In short walking distance to the train station, the Pope’s Palace and restaurants. Stayed here for 5 nights, had our best sleep here during our two week vacation in southern France.

Recommend getting a room that’s not facing the street, it can be noisy at night.
