Not worth the high price due to loud music for external rooms.

The bed was very comfortable, large luxurious bathroom and good location with parking (for a fee)

I let them know it was my husband’s birthday and they did nothing to acknowledge it but for $650 a night there was loud music outside our window from a club across the street that kept us up all night. When I mentioned it to the front staff on the morning the shrugged and said oh yes. the club. I am sorry I splurged on this property for $650 a night and did not feel it was worth it although the room was lovely and clean and the bed comfortable.

Comfort and charm in Avignon

The Hotel d'Europe exudes understated class in all respects. It has real character that cannot be found in functional modern hotels. The staff are all very friendly and proficient and the food in La Vieille Fontaine restaurant is exceptional. The hotel is maintained at an incredibly high level - try finding even minor blemishes in the paintwork. In addition the location is perfect as one has easy access to the river and to the Place de l'Horloge, Palais des Papes and other main sites. .

Huge Disappointment

The Historical ambiance of the building.

The size of the room.The condition of the room,carpets etc.The shower over the bath.The bed.The sheet was torn.uncomfortable chairs.No Milk for tea only green tea. No main inside lounge.The bar very dingy.

Great location and chic decor. Accommodating staff at the bar for my late checkin of 10.45pm and I was able to get a lovely snack.

Lovely stay in Avignon

Superb hotel in the heart of Avignon. As you arrive by car, your heart skips a beat. This is the French idyll. Beautiful. You roll up, your keys are taken and Patrick sweeps into gear, parking the car securely nearby and organising the bags to your room. Merci Patrick and Nina on reception. The staff are brilliant and this historic hotel is a delight. The bed is enormous and everything has just been thought out so well in terms of keeping customers as happy and as well served as possible. Two great days here. An absolute treat.

Breakfast Poor .. Bar closed at 11pm on the Saturday night despite there being 12 of us all guests who wanted to have a drink behind this time … lost revenue for the hotel and basically spoilt the weekend !!!

The best place for exploring Avignon

Superb location. Excellent staff. Nice breakfast, but it could be a bit more varied. The garden at the entrance is a good place for cocktails. Valet parking is a great relief after you have found the hotel.

The wifi was a bit unstable in our room. Soundproofing was not very efficient, both for external and internal/mainly door slaming and vacuum cleaning/ noises.

it is a vintage hotel with renown of famous people stayed before. Overall is worthy of staying

location is very close to downtown but still far enough for quietness. Room size is ok and clean. This a vintage hotel therefore do not expect anything fancy in the room besides the bathroom.

the breakfast could be better if it comes with more selection. Even it says a buffet but omelet needs to pay for it. The staff of check in counter can be more friendly and smile on their face.

We have stayed in the hotel many times. We stayed for 1 night on our way to St Tropez and 1 night on the way back. Both ways we had asked for room 104 and neither time did we get it. On the way back, we were shown to our room and I asked the porter how the television worked. The bottom line was that it was out of order. Two staff spent over an hour trying to sort it out and in the end we had to move rooms and were given a very nice room except that unlike the one we moved from, it was dark and over looked the main road which was very noisy when the windows were open. I was annoyed because I had just unpacked and because I was unable to go out whilst they were trying to fix the television. Some rooms have heated towel rails and some don't. Breakfast is horrendously overpriced. The soap is very bad quality.
