Great service but rooms needing serious attention /
Breakfast was lovely. Choices ranged from eggs any style and at request, along with a buffet of fruits, cheeses, hard salamis, pastries, breads and yogurt.
The property is listed as 5 star but the room is in desperate need of renovation. It needs and update and strong cleaning. The tile floors are probably historic, so I can understand why they haven't been removed, but the chairs and rug were run down. The area rug was badly stained and matted - it should not even be cleaned, but replaced.

A lovely place to stay
Beautifull location, comfortable room, excellent restaurant, lovely pool, competent and pleasant staff.
The lift in Le Chapitre did not work.

Could be better
This could be a really great hotel. Sadly, it is tired and in need of investment to bring it up to the standard one would expect of a Relais & Chateau property. We were checked into a very dark room initially, which had foliage so dense around the windows that it was growing through into the room. There were cobwebs in the corners of the room, and dust over several of the surfaces. There was also evidence of damp in the corridor, which we could smell inside the room. As a hotel owner myself, I appreciate that it costs a lot to keep a property in good condition, but at over 400 euros per night, this was not acceptable. We spoke with a very helpful member of the reception staff, who moved us into a much nicer room for the duration of our stay. The staff were generally very good, but the hotel overall fell short of our expectations. It didn't feel as though it met its 5 star rating, and I would advise those in the senior management there to look at where improvements can be made to bring it up to that level, because it could be excellent.
The hotel needs some serious investment to bring it up to a 5 star standard.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning part of Avignon.
Grounds were stunning and room was fantastic
Fully understand i am travelling in France but i observed other guests have the same issues in terms of English language barriers. Front desk was great at English but breakfast staff were difficult to communicate with ( but really hospitable). For the number of English speaking customers basic English around the menu would be really beneficial.

Disappointing and overpriced
Lovely location and communal areas designed beautifully
Rooms were worn, tired and uninspired. Door opens into the room only half way because it hits a fridge placed behind it. Table and furniture is damaged and worn. The sink did not drain so when you brush your teeth your spit stays in the bowl just floating there. The room stunk and even worse in the hall way to the room smelt like old dog. When I complained they said that they knew about the problems… and that was it. They offered no remedy. On our last night we heard the firing off a staff member in the room next to us who, let’s just say, was really unhappy about being fired. The whole thing was painfully unprofessional especially the prices they were charging for a room and lunch. The price was shocking for what you get. It’s put me off not just this hotel but all from this group. Overall the rooms were a solid 3/10 and when you complain you are made to feel like an idiot for saying anything

Nice stay in classy hotel in the perfect spot of a lovely village
the location was perfect in a lovely buzzy village nice pool - warmer than others very big bedroom and bathroom, plus private terrace staff mostly very nice and friendly really clean nice touches to the service - certainly a 5 star set up
the floor tiles in the bathroom are a bit slippy - they should be on walls only. the bath was a really awkward shape for showering in - you can’t get close to the shower and have to stand in the middle of the bath, or risk slipping over. being asked if we wanted to add a tip at the end when settling up was a bit awkward. never experienced that before and the reaction left things on a slightly sour note. shame. still, would definitely very happily return to the hotel and the village.
