Merci, Falco!

Falco is the commensurate host. He welcomed us with open arms, and had plenty of recommendations for things to do in Villeneuve and Avignon. Breakfast was a real highlight - delicious food and a tremendous view of Avignon. We stayed in Gite 19, which is a spacious 'two up, two down', which had its own kitchen, living room (on the ground floor), and a double bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom (on the upper floor). The gite is well appointed, and retains its historic furniture and furnishings. Those seeking a 'modern' flat/hotel should look elsewhere, but if you want a truly extraordinary place to stay (and extremely reasonably priced), book yourself in to Maison Orsini. We will definitely be returning (hopefully multiple times). The courtyard is given over to the restaurant ('Jacqueline') on weekday evenings, so you can enjoy delicious smells in the late afternoon as you walk through the courtyard. I was impressed with how little noise/disturbance there was - most diners have left by 10pm, and the gite has shutters which can help to mitigate any noise/light from outside if you are a light sleeper. Villeneuve is very close by, and worth exploring (the Carthusian monastery and the Abbey of St Andrew are treasures), and Avignon is about a 25 minute walk from Maison Orsini. Taxis are quite expensive, and the bus only takes cash.

Charming accommodation with spectacular views of Avignon.

Selection of accommodation: rooms, suites, gites. We had two bedroom gite. V comfortable beds, charming, if rustic decor. Towels changed daily. Great breakfast with freshly- squeezed juice. Staff v thoughtful. Lovely terrace with in season restaurant. Amazing views of Avignon across the Rhône.

The gite was a little in need of attention. No shower curtain.

It was the highlight of a two month trip through Europe! The setting, the views, the comfort and quiet, the attention of our host, the accessibility of the entire Luberon Valley, the pool, the breakfast, and the restaurant exceeded all expectations and were a superb value!!

The property is an old historic building made of stones , locates in a hilltop village overlooking the river. Love the quiet and peaceful garden setting. The host Falco is very responsive. Breakfast is delicious and with a lot of varieties.

Amazing place! The views, the centuries old houses beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, fantastic breakfast, very helpful host and Villeneuve was a lovely place to stay when visiting Avignon and area. I would definitely stay here again.

Exceptional

What a dream! We kept pinching ourselves to make sure we were really there. Everything about Maison Orsini is idyllic - from the charming courtyard covered with flowers and lawn games and the most stunning view of Avignon to the rooms which feel both straight out of the 1300's when it was built but thoughtfully balanced with updates to make it comfort (think well-placed plugs, comfortable beds and doors that don't squeak, plus AIR CONDITIONING!!) to the delicious food (both the breakfast and the dinner fare which they claimed was humble but we found delicious, and finally the pool which felt like it was in a secret garden. We can't WAIT to plan our next trip back.

The property is beautiful and the service is impeccable here. Folco, the host, always has a smile and is eager to help. And the views cannot be surpassed. Sitting on the terrace and watching the sunset on the Palais du Papes with a great selection of wine and a beautiful cheese board that we ordered from Maison Orsini’s restaurant was perfect. My son loved the pool and the dart board.

Maison Orsini is an exceptionally pretty property and we hope to return

Falco was a friendly, generous host who upgraded us to a room with a glorious view of Avignon. The room was gorgeous as was the breakfast terrace. Breakfast was good. The pool in a garden over the road was a lovely extra. Villevneuve was the loveliest town and we plan to return. The location made it easy to drive into Avignon but it is also possible to walk.

The hand held shower over the bath is difficult to manage if you are not used to it and I would have preferred a wall mounted shower and screen for ease.

A charming farmhouse stay in a charming village. What more could you ask?

We thoroughly enjoyed the town of Villeneuve-les-Avignon. Our host gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. I wish we could have tried them all! We planned to spend our time in Avignon but ended up spending all our time locally it was just so lovely.

A Provencal fairytale.

This was a dream stay. It was like stepping into a little countryside castle with magnificent views of the Rhone river. I couldn't believe my surroundings when I was there. Very comfortable room with a gorgeous bathroom. Incredible breakfast. Jaw-dropping views and charming garden.
