Great stay in a medieval building. Fabrice was great telling us all about Avignon and very good restaurant recommendations. Fantastic breakfast with homemade yougart and jams. Great location . Bed was very comfortable.

This was a unique and wonderful experience quite close to the Palais de Popes!

A wonderful historic building (so no elevator but not TOO many stairs) with updated bathrooms. The rooms are quite large with sitting areas or even a sun porch and outside patio. A truly special experience. Veronique and Fabrice were wonderful hosts and Fabrice handled all our luggage to/from our rooms. Wished I had a longer stay there!

Charming property with wonderful owners

First, this is a beautiful building that is very well taken care of by Fabrice and Veronique. The decoration is exquisite. Every detail is well thought. Both of them make your stay feel like you are home and yet with an upgrade. The beds are really comfortable and the coffee machines and tea in the bedroom are a plus. Not to mention the breakfast that is fabulous. Veronique and Fabrice are kind and attentive to the guests. I’m happy that I chose this property to stay. Thanks to both of them. I would totally go back.

It was charming. Our room was small but just what we needed! Quiet, good bed, and delicious homemade granola and yogurt.

Stairs too our room on the top floor were steep and hard to manage our cases (but the host assisted). The shower was quite small and it was hard to wash our feet

La Banasterie is a bonus to a visit to Avignon

A lovely stay in the hosts historic building located adjacent to the Palace of the Popes. I appreciated the suggestion that I visit the annual End of Harvest Wine Festival which gave a great introduction to Avignon. The breakfasts were wonderful start to the day. Overall, Avignon would not have been such a nice experience if I stayed anywhere else. Many thanks for the hospitality.

The service was fantastic, so friendly and the breakfast was wonderful will all sorts of home made jams and yogurt.

No shower but expected with such an old building. The water pressure in the bath could have been better.

A beautiful historic B&B in the heart of Medieval Avignon

We loved everything: the friendly owners, Veronique and Fabrice, who offered brilliant restaurant advice; the beautiful historic building--which in our room included a medieval wall, complete with a bow-and-arrow slit!; the lovely rooftop terrace; the delicious breakfasts; and the terrific location--on a narrow medieval street, just steps from both the Place San Pierre (with its three terrific restaurants) and the Papal Palace. We could easily walk everywhere in the historic city center, and always enjoyed returning to our cozy room.

We were fine with having only a bathtub (with a hand-shower)--a small trade-off for a room with such character--but that might not work for anyone seriously mobility impaired. The stairs are steep, but Fabrice kindly carried our bags, so (again) no problem even for a pair of sturdy 70-somethings.

500 year old, in centre of town. Property is well designed. Contemporary style. The owners were so helpful and gave a full briefing on walking trails, recommended eating places and museums….very much welcomed and they are super proud of Avignon ( and rightly so!) Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of fruit, yoghurt, pastries cheese and ham Lovely little terrace for a quiet drink!

Great experience

Perfect location, everything is within walking distance. There are many restaurants around there. Breakfast was amazing, we loved the yogurt and honey. The owner was friendly and nice, they gave us lots of information and recommendation.

Our show sealing was quite low, which is explained on their own websites, so if you are tall you need to be aware.

Very cosy and very classy. Some lovely spaces to relax in. Nice beer and wine in the fridge that you could take, enjoy and pay for later. Super central. Both hosts were friendly and helpful.

This was an amazing find! Great location in a beautiful part of Avignon with close proximity to restaurants. The room was beautiful and spacious. The owners were lovely, gave great recommendations, and were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and had many homemade aspects. We loved our experience here so much!

Welcoming hosts in the best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed at!

Rooms were comfortable and the beds were great. Breakfast was excellent, they use local products and Veronique makes the jams. Veronique and Fabrice were excellent hosts helpful hints (where to to eat and more importantly where not to) and very welcoming. Location is great and as solo traveller I felt very safe.

good location, very friendly owners

comfort (at least for the upper room where we have stayed): the stairs are very steep, the room is small (we had only a single small bag and still felt constrained), the doors are low and the ceiling at the shower is so tilted that you can't stand while showering.

Would warmly recommend this lovely place oozing with personality.

These hosts were two of the best hosts we’ve met so far. Not just welcoming, but genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. Their can-do-mentality results in delicious self made breakfast products like jams, yoghurt and granola. We loved their style in art and decoration. And they had plenty tips for sightseeing. Furthermore, we loved the kingsize bed! Not only the size but also the sturdiness of the matras.

It would have been perfect if the room was a tad bigger. After two night, it felt a bit jammed with our grocery bags, laundry bags and suitcases spread out on the floor. The cupboard was good for a couple of items but a more spacious room would’ve given us more room to breathe, figuratively speaking. We were warned for the low ceiling in the bathroom. That was really manageable. Next time, though, we choose a room where we can shower standing up, in stead of sitting in the bathtub. Great to have a bath though!
