A very pleasant hotel with a lovely pool and great garden. A rip-off with the Manor house rooms in the summer.

Position - the best Breakfast - great

The room in the Manor House No air con too hot and very uncomfortable. So expensive compared to everywhere else with beautiful accommodation and air-conditioning These rooms should be reserved for the winter

Had to change room. First room badly cleaned. Everything smelled of smoke from the fireplace. Bathroom dirty. Shower drain blocked - water all over the floor. And no apology! No consideration!

The restaurant and breakfast area don’t quite match the rest of the look / feel - a bit more casual than expected but only a tiny point. It could draw in more folks if looked a bit more fancy.

Brilliant location!

Unfortunately due to very heavy storms in the area, there was a 3 day power outage which I really do feel the hotel could have notified us about prior to arrival. They reached out to see what time we would be checking in, so could just as easily said ‘hey, we have no electricity - so no hot water … maybe have a shower before arriving and bring a torch as we don’t know when electricity will be restored’. It would have taken the sting out of the tail upon guest arrival.

H H falls short of the mark

fantastic location and amazing views. English breakfast was v tasty. Room spacious and general building pool area, very stylish .

Must be the only hotel I’ve ever stayed that charged us for an additional coffee at breakfast! This left quite a sour taste given its a relatively expensive hotel to stay at and seems v petty! The suite room did not represent value for money. There was a leaky shower unit, which completely soaked the bathroom floor. An army of ants had made the front door their home. Staff never told us when load shedding would take place, which every other hotel in SA updated us on. On our final nights stay we were awoken early by a large group of classic car enthusiasts, who had decided to stop for early breakfast at the hotel (which just happened to be layed out in front of our room). Despite these people not being guests, it seems they were more of a priority than actual guests at breakfast! I was also requested to move my car from it’s reserved space to allow one of them to park their car outside the hotel front door! (presumably my VW didn’t fit the hotel image 😂) Above factors are a shame as it’s impacted what would have been a very nice stay .

The beautiful view from our room. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Clean and the best location in Hermanus.

Rusks weren’t replenished. Only one bar of soap between the bath shower and sinks.
