Gorgeous View & Stay

The room, the view, the bathroom, and the perfect pool for us to relax. Breakfast was great and you could book ahead of time and confirm what you wanted.

I would just say better coffee, I'm not one for a plunger coffee. We did not have any complaints and we were happy with our booking and the people are very friendly.

Ok but not again

Location outside the center but okay. Nice, unobstructed view. Clean room, and the parfait was delicious.

Pictures look much better than reality. Some cheap renovations and already a bit worn down. Bed completely saggy and only 1.90 m long despite being King size. Booked an apartment with a terrace — turned out to be the parking area, and everyone walked past it to enter the building. No privacy at all; you could see straight onto the bed. Breakfast was okay, but the cold cuts were low quality.

Gorgeous views!

The view was stunning. The room was clean and had a big bathroom. The bed was super comfortable. The host and his staff were nice and welcoming.

The room we had was attached to the main house. Our front door had a gate but the property itself isn’t gated. Nothing happened in terms of safety but we did feel a bit uneasy our first night, as it was very unexpected. Just to inform people that this property is not in Hermanus itself. You will need to either call an Uber or drive to the city to grab dinner or explore the town. We didn’t mind this at all but wanted to share it for others.

Only the view.

The privacy is not good. You cannot walk from the bathroom to the room without the people seeing you from outside. The shower nice looking but not practical as water pressure is to low and the water was only luke warm. Maybe an instruction manual how to operate the shower will help 🤔

A charming oceanfront gem with breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and superb breakfast — peaceful luxury by the sea.

A wonderful guesthouse with an astonishing view over the Sandbaai ocean — we even spotted whales from our balcony in the morning! Service and hospitality were outstanding, and breakfast was large, fresh, and delicious.

It would be great to have a few more snack options in the afternoon or evening, as nearby restaurants are a bit of a drive away.

A Wonderful Spacious House

The guest house is in a superb location overlooking the sea. The hosts warmly greeted us and gave us a tour of the house. The bedroom was spacious with a dual aspect view including a terrace. The bathroom was huge and very well equipped. There was an excellent selection of wine in the honesty bar. Great walks along the seafront. A very good breakfast, we can recommend the parfait.

Great whale watching viewing

The views from the windows over the ocean to watch for whales were spectacular. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Snacks and refreshments including a good selection of wines were available to purchase.

No fault of the property but it was further away from restaurants than we appreciated. We are from the U.K. and didn’t know the area at all.

View to die for overlooking the sea

Fabulous breakfast. Fabulous view from bedroom and Dining room/lounge. Pool and gardens fab. Games to play, with snacks and wine on offer. Garage lock up service gave great reassurance. Service from Kenny, Stephen & Lee excellent. Would highly recommend.

The two single beds were very hard. But as short-term stay, no real big issue. Location although lovely overlooking Onrus sea bay was 15 mins drive from central Hermanus. Personally was not a problem to us but maybe could be to others.

Satisfactory, but challenging without a car and lunch and dinner options.

Rod and Sue were the perfect hosts, backed by a good team, however a car is a must if you stay at the Absolute Ocean. There is no Uber service here, and the few taxi companies that operate in the area charge excessively high fares using cars way past their sell by date, and waiting times can vary between 20 minutes and 45 minutes. The Absolute Ocean provides an awesome breakfast, however you are on your own for lunch and supper, and without a car at your disposal, you certainly have some challenges.

The Jewel of Hermanus

This home lives up to its name in all respects 🤩. It was absolute luxury with the ocean view available from every single window, including bathrooms and kitchen. I loved the penthouse with a beautiful view from the study of the sea. It felt like i could reach out from the house and touch the ocean😍.Washington, the Manager/housekeeper was amazing and on hand. Immaculate, beautiful, and an absolute spoil. I will go back in a heartbeat. Sue, our host, although away overseas at the time, was easily contactable. It was well located, with a shopping center nearby. Thank you, Sue and Washington.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette guesthouse. L’emplacement est tout simplement formidable, avec une magnifique vue sur la mer qui rend chaque moment encore plus agréable. Les chambres sont lumineuses, confortables et très bien entretenues. L’équipe est particulièrement accueillante, attentionnée et toujours très réactive, ce qui contribue à une atmosphère chaleureuse et détendue. Nous nous sommes sentis les bienvenus dès notre arrivée. Une adresse que nous recommandons sans hésitation.

Le systeme pour commander son petit déjeuner est un peu compliqué.

Die Lage ist traumhaft - direkt am Riff.
