One of the best locations in Hermanus, a stroll from both the seafront and the best parts of town for shops & restaurants. As the name implies, the Auberge Burgundy really does feel like a South of France villa transposed to the (not dissimilar) climate of the Western Cape. The rooms are furnished with impeccable taste and excellent facilities. Those like ours have charming little balconies, room enough for a table and a couple of chairs, perfect as the sun goes down for example. At ground level is a warren of delightful little leafy courtyards - the one closest to our rooms had a fine old wooden table and a fountain watering a small fish pond. My friend loves the on-site spa which she visits every trip and it is also good value. There is no restaurant, but in this location that matters not at all, and breakfast is served very satisfactorily in the restaurant next door. The free welcome drinks (port & sherry) plus honour bar in the little room adjacent to reception complete the Auberge's unique appeal. Free parking - some out front and some underground - is a significant benefit in this location too. The staff are superb and their restaurant recommendations definitely to be trusted.

Everything was up to an excellent standard no complaints about anything staff were excellent restaurant was very good with very good service reception staff and porters went above and beyond most helpful

This was our 4th visit to Auberge, the location is excellent, the rooms are lovely and beds and linen are great, the breakfast is fantastic and the staff are endlessly helpful and friendly
