I think the hotel should be advertised as a B&B, as I think at present it’s misleading.

The hotel is lovely and clean and great sea views. Good secure parking and you feel safe as well. Breakfast was good, albeit a bit slow but that’s due to everything being done fresh for you. Staff are nice. Pool area is nice but small with only 4 sun loungers.

When turning up we asked about dinner that evening to be told that you have to have booked by 10am on the day and the restaurant was very busy already. As we explained that nothing is mentioned in the booking details, or the text that they sent sending you their pin location and welcoming early that morning, we were surprised to learn this. They explained that everything is shopped for and cooked fresh that day therefore that is their reason behind this. Anyway the hotel agreed to allow us for dinner that evening but we must choose and pay straight away, 550 rand each. Not knowing on a Saturday night if we could get in anywhere else we did this. There is a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 deserts. We arrived for our booking at 8pm to find we were the only people who were dining. The food was ok. What we did notice for the next 3 days the menu never changed. On our last morning we spoke to 2 other sets of residents who also said they found the evening set up very strange and therefore they hadn’t eaten in the restaurant.

Wonderful

Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. Clearly had so much pride for what they do and the service aspect especially. Thembi was superb and was so helpful and thoughtful looking after my daughter when she’d been unwell all day. She went out of her way to check on her , squeeze her fresh juice, and more. The hotel is a beautiful old style with some incredible luxurious old Hollywood style touches from many years gone by.

I’d say whilst we had the most incredible view from our rooms it was just that bit too far out to really enjoy the main high street and restaurants without driving there.

Room is ok, but no aircon, full of misquotes and management did not care

No aircon, old, too expensive for what it is. Complained, nothing is done. Checked out immediately the next day and never got a refund! Do not go there!

The Presidential suite was opulent and huge. Highest quality. So much space. The furniture heavy and outdated and didnt fit the seaside vibe of area but it ticked the box for us.

See above .. plus not enough staff. Only one person on duty last night when the lights fused. It was fixed but a lot to put on shoulders of one person.

Nice view over the bay. Staff was very attentive.

Very noisy fan in the bathroom and also the noise of the fridge in the bedroom was disturbing during the night. The interior was everywhere „too much“. But it's all a matter of personal taste, of course.

The place stinks,it has carpet all over from reception to the corridors ro the rooms to the lounge and the carpet absolutely stinks,I don't know how they have a 5 star rating.Even for a boutique hotel it is small and limited,I had to leave because the dirty carpets were unbearable,manager was in denial about this and I lost all my money because they wouldn't compromise on even a partial refund,Christmas menu was limited to duck and ostrich,basically no real options

Falsely advertised, not in the best area, incompetent staff (2,5 people) you got to ask to be let out of the premises and when you can back. We stood in street for 20 minutes because the intercom didn’t work

A great stay was had and we’ll definitely stay here again.

This property is excellent. It’s a small hotel so quite cosy. The staff are very professional and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. We were really looked after. This hotel is immaculate. The location is just next to the cliff path. This is ideal as it’s only a 15 minute stroll into town. On the way there’s a lovely little bar by the water to sit and have a few drinks.

Great stay in Hermanus

Great view, great location, spotlessly clean, rooms very comfortable with every amenity and extras. Staff were very attentive and engaging. Pool area was very nice and relaxing too. Breakfast omelette was excellent too.

At the price , just wish could get a good bean to cup coffee. Would have loved to have used the gym which was a nice facility but found it to be a bit clogged with equipment and not much space to move.

Spacious queen room and Junior suite that we booked for us and my daughters and her partner on different floors.

Lost a few of our personal items of clothing from both rooms- jacket, jeans, shirt. Reported and the owner is investigating. Prefer a more central location closer to the restaurants and the ocean.

Stunning space!

Idyllic with a healthy dose of luxury. Each room, nook, and corner is beautifully crafted. Spacious and more than comfortable - its a treat! Think Bridgerton with Ocean views. Located centrally and a short distance from the city centre. The staff are friendly, professional and warm.

The hotel staff (especially Jainesha -I hope I spelled her name correctly!) were very nice and professional. I got a massage at the hotel and it was a very good experience too. Highly recommended this hotel for anyone looking for a high quality hotel and welcoming staff.

A couple of relaxing days

The breakfast set out on the balcony was lovely. The service was good, however the quality of a couple of items did not match the setting. Orange juice was not freshly made, bacon reheated, eggs cooked as requested.

We had to phone someone to lets us in or exit the hotel. There were areas of the hotel that looked tired and need updating.
