It was perfect for our need. A good night’s sleep was enjoyed after a very busy day.

Got a very warm welcome on our arrival. Great care was taken to ensure we were well informed about the property and what it offered.

Good enough but quite a distance from the town centre. Needs more attention to detail.

The breakfast was good enough, with it being cooked as you waited. Nonny and the staff were very good, ensuring we had everything we needed. The staff were the outstanding feature of the guest house, in our opinion.

Overall, the house lacked atmosphere, with only the dining area as a social area. There was no general lounge area and, apart from your room, nowhere else to sit. As the chairs in our room were not particularly comfortable, it would have been nice to have somewhere else to go, if you were in during the evening, as it was advised not to be out too late in Hermanus. The house is quite a distance from the town so it is not advisable to walk out at night. There was a large garden with pool / table chairs but the weather was poor so we couldn't avail of these. Also, one of the legs on the sunbeds was broken, which did not look very good on the decking.

Fabulous room and enjoyed our stay

The view from our room was stunning. The room itself was huge with a big open plan type bathroom. It’s walkable to the centre of Hermanus but takes about 20 mins .

Cosy and comfortable place in Hermanus

The room was fantastic! Very spacious and we had a view on the water. Our hosts were super friendly and made us a great breakfast to order. It’s a bit outside of Hermanus so not recommended to walk into town at night, but in the day it’s easy to take the cliff walk straight into town. It’s a very scenic 25 min walk (more if you stop for lots of photos!). We would definitely come back here 💙💙

Excellent stay in Hermanus

The view is stunning. The property located at West Cliff which is 8min walk to the harbour(for the whale watching tour) and right next to the cliff path. There are many nice restaurants in the town centre, which is 5min by car. Staff is nice. Private parking is handy. The breakfast is amazing. Wish we could spend more days in Hermanus.

The breakfast was good. Location excellent, great views from our balcony of the sea & the Whales.

More attention to the detail re listening from the staff . The staff were all very pleasant & polite :) but they do need to pay more attention to what guests ask, & to report problems when reported from guest to the Owner if they cannot fix. DSTV / WFI wasn't working reported it on the Monday afternoon when we booked in, still not fixed by the time we left on the Thursday. When requesting extra tea bags & milk, water, to please replenish when cleaning the room. Not when the guest has come back & then they have to ask. Reported shower leaking on the Tuesday morning, Shower floor becomes flooded so leaks out under the shower door into the bathroom, making it dangerous as a big puddle. Still not fixed when we left Thursday morning.

Lovely place just let down by a poor breakfast

Great rooms, perfect location, very friendly and good value for money

We’ve stayed a few times but this time we were very disappointed with the breakfast. Only 6 guests but we had to wait 40 minutes for a preordered meal, which then wasn’t hot. Eggs were overdone and sausage shrivelled. That could have been a lot better wait only a little more effort

Place unavailable despite a confirmed booking.

I could not access the property on arrival.

My daughter and I waited two hours to access this property. I called all numbers for the property, none of which work. I sent multiple messages on the app. Booking. com customer service could not get through to the manager/owner on their platforms. We eventually resorted to hooting at the gate and shouting down the driveway but still nothing. We had to find another place to stay at the last minute. Despite not staying at the Guesthouse, I was initially charged in full for my stay. After multiple messages and calls, I managed to track down Evellyn, who did not explain why I was not able to access the property, nor apologise for the extreme inconvenience but rather said that Jaco was responsible for the bookings and charges. I eventually spoke to Jaco, after a week of sending messages, and I acknowledge that he apologised for the inconvenience and refunded me, for which I am grateful. However, Jaco said Evellyn was at the Guesthouse when we arrived. I find the blame shifting and lack of accountability to guests as quite unprofessional. Due to this and the initial ordeal that my daughter and I endured, I cannot recommend this establishment.

The bed was clean and comfortable.

It’s in dire need of maintenance. Blinds broken, internet not working, tv intermittent, curtains don’t close, keys in locks a struggle (waking up the household) toilet flush buttons broken, musty smells in house everything old, not worth R3800 for two nights. Only one room has the view advertised, we had to keep all our blinds closed (which was a good thing as they don’t open except for one) as the house is at an intersection where you can easily see into the room of open.
