Not a 5 star standard hotel

The staff are amazing and try their best to be helpful. They are also very friendly. Good proximity to the main streets for restaurants ect in Hermanus.

Bedding was dirty. Had to be changed on first night. This makes the entire stay uncomfortable as you wonder what else isn’t properly cleaned or changed. Shower leaks into the entire bathroom which is a huge safety hazard. Room was graciously changed on second night but still had the issue with the shower leaking into the entire bathroom. Common areas are not very clean - carpets looked messy. No place to keep toiletries in bathroom and no mirror in first room for when you are doing your hair. This is certainly not close to a 5 star hotel. Also bar had limited selection of drinks and breakfast was very basic.

Great location, comfortable rooms and friendly staff

Room was lovely with a great view of the sea and comfy chairs on balcony. The fresh fruit at breakfast was great. Aphiwe did a wonderful massage.

Hot Breakfast was good but no flexibility (I asked if possible to have pancakes and told no) and we found the breakfast area a bit soulless.

Whilst the hotel is VERY good - great location, beautiful decor, great food - it is the staff that raise it to exceptional. From the initial welcome to saying goodbye, the staff were so friendly, engaging and kind. We loved our personal chats with all the staff. We particularly would like to thank Bulelwa and her colleague for the personal touch of decorating our room for our wedding anniversary. Just fabulous

The team at this hotel is absolutely wonderful.

The receptionist gave us tips for activities and restaurants, and made our reservations. The staff is extremely polite and attentive. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.

We loved the beautiful service we received upon our arrival at the establishment till our departure. The room was clean and had a fresh scent. The breakfast was always amazing.

I think they must add remotes for the gate on the set of keys given to the guests.

One Marine Drive review

Quality of the bed linen, towels, glasses, beach towels. All our needs were anticipated. A 10 min walk into town along the coastal road was perfect. Our room had a lovely ocean view. Gin and tonics at 5pm was fabulous. The staff were exceptional, helpful and warm and funny! I had a brilliant facial.

I have visited Hermanus often and have stayed in the best. I loved it here.

The position is great. Walking distance from the action in the town. Clean and painted white and blue which fits the environment and the cleanliness of the hotel. I alway laugh when people write in a review how friendly the staff were, but in this case I really mean it. They were so lekker. To me, it is a place to say when visiting this town. You can spend a lot of money at other places but here, you get what you pay for. It’s new and it will become well known soon. Best of luck to the owners and the staff in the years to come.

The team were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The service was great. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection.

Just a minor point (although it didn't spoil our stay). Having coffee facilities outside the room didn't work for me as it was a little noisy.

Great view of the ocean, relaxed stay

Beautiful boutique style hotel. The staff was very welcoming and always willing to assist. The breakfast was extremely good, with great coffee and a nice setting. The pool area is small but all that you need to cool off and relax by the pool. The room was very nice: comfortable, spacious and luxurious; with a coffee, tea and fridge station outside the room servicing 3 adjacent rooms. I would suggest to have a marker pen available to mark the stuff that you put into the communal fridge.

Although our view of the ocean was fantastic, our balcony was very close to the street (2nd floor) - but it was expected. I would book 3rd floor in future, as that balcony is a bit further removed from being visible from the street. The only room cleaning service that we received in a 4 day stay was having the bed made. No vacuuming or other cleaning was done. Room service for dinner options were very limited and more limited than the website or the printed menu in reception indicated.
