Beautiful location and great hosts!

La Fontaine is a very nice property, Natasha and Clarise are very kind hosts. The location of the property is great — it's very close to both the ocean and the town centre. The breakfast was possibly the best on our trip (I loved the homemade granola)! :)

Our room (family room) does urgently need some renovation. The carpet is very used (seemed dirty) and also some of the paint does not look very appealing anymore.

The service was good but the rooms were very tired from the carpets to the electrics and bathroom. Although very clean and pleasant staff it was just outdated.

Fabulous guesthouse in Hermanus

This is a fabulous place to stay if you are lucky to get a reservation! It is a beautifully decorated house with only a few rooms and each room is spectacularly decorated, very large and incredibly comfortable. The breakfasts are brilliant as well ( I can still smell the croissants). Remember to book early - rooms go fast !

Perfect, stylish and friendly

This is one of the most exceptional and welcoming places we've stayed at. The room was well-presented, and the location gave us an easy walk to view the whales. It's even scenic having breakfast. Natasha was very helpful in planning the next stage of our route and we even enjoyed the return visit to pick up a bag which we'd accidentally left behind.

Absolutely loved the place! The cleanliness was impeccable, which is always a top priority for me. The showers were spotless and well-maintained, and the towels were sparkling white and looked brand new. It's clear that the staff takes great care in maintaining a high standard of hygiene. The hosts, Devon and Natasha, went above and beyond to help us with securing reservations, giving recommendations, and overall service. We felt so welcomed and the breakfast was delicious! You cannot beat the location; everything is in walking distance and you have the most amazing views to boot.

A beautiful accommodation venue-would love to have stayed longer!

We appreciated access to the main kitchen for our own use. The view from the parlour and dining room was divine-straight out to the waves on the foreshore. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, presented and delivered by Elen and Devon. Natasha the owner was so kind and thoughtful upon our late and weary arrival and I appreciated her travel advice too. Property felt very secure at night. Thankyou.

We struggled with the awkwardness of the bathroom being in the middle between our two rooms. Rooms were a tad cramped and directly off the main living and dining areas for the rest of the guests, thus feeling a little bit exposed. A bit of noise late at night from other guests up/and on the stairs.

Great working breakfast.

No water in our room on 1st floor for a shower, right before checkout while house helpers were doing dishes on the ground floor. Had to check out without a shower. Manager Devon initially said he doesn’t know why and later mentioned that municipal office has disconnected water supply. That’s a lie because I saw running water in ground floor and the house helpers were doing dishes. He was probably annoyed that I didn’t book the whale tour through him. He was very welcoming initially but his demeanor completely changed once we decided to book the whale tour on our own. I loved everything else about this property. Would have highly recommended this to anyone only if Devon didn’t try to pull this fast on me. It left a bitter taste and spoilt my day- that too 15 mnts before check out.

Somewhat disappointed.

Superb position opposite th ocean and very friendly staff.

Construction noises at adjacent property very disturbing. Only saw this on their page a few days before I was due to stay there but couldn't change the reservation to somewhere else as the booking was non refundable. When I mentioned this upon checking in the manageress said it was hardly noticeable however one can't tell someone else what is disturbing and what isn't. No privacy on balcony as construction workers sit on pavement opposite the guesthouse for their breaks. The establishment is in need of refurbishment in terms of dated carpeting and window furnishings.

Wonderful place all round

Very friendly staff and wonderful suite with lounge and patio garden. Very comfortable and convenient for Hermanus town. It's more a period than contemporary style guest house but with all modern conveniences and clean and comfortable.
