Not quite boutique

The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

This is not a boutique hotel. My guess is that with the refurb a decision was made to rebrand as a boutique hotel. It is not. Decor is pretty naff and the workmanship of the refurb is quite poor in places - bath panel missing, electricity wall plates don’t fit properly, swimming pool not much bigger than a plunge pool.

Excellent choice if you plan to visit Hermanus and want to have an easy walk into centre

Commanding an excellent position over the sea but easy walk into Hermanus town. Quite a light interior, clean and with fresh flowers throughout - staff attentive and very hospitable. We really liked the tapas restaurant Ficks opposite the hotel that has a great vista and food. Complementary glass of wine at 5pm is a nice touch.

Loved the stay and experience. It was great!

Great location - hotel looks at the water, right by the cliff walk and easy walk to town and restaurants. The service was really nice - helped make dinner reservations, check in was very smooth and breakfast was really superb.

There was nothing wrong. Not every room will have a full water view.

Comfortable stay

Very centrally located with beautiful views. Staff very attentive. Breakfast was good but please ensure that dietary requirements are understood prior to arrival.

The cupboards in our room were painted before we went in so there was the lingering odour from the paint which was not good to smell at night. It was difficult to manage because they were fully booked but once they could they did move us on the last night.

Great location - nice little touches complimentary wine in the evening. Great staff - all the ladies were brilliant and super helpful. Special mention to Lauren who organised our shark diving trip - it was a highlight of our holiday. We only wished we had booked for a longer stay.

Perfect place to stay and to enjoy Hermanus!

We had Room 6 which was directly overlooking the sea. We saw a couple of whales and a pod of dolphins, while sitting on the balcony. We had a jacuzzi bath which was heaven. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was amazing. We particularly loved the fresh fruit which was finely chopped in the morning.

Lovely elegant boutique guest house. But not as good as we remember.

Great location overlooking sea and able to see some whales in distance. Honeymoon suite is large , beautifully furnished with amazing view. Beautifully decorated and furnished in communal areas. Complimentary wine early evening . Quite end of town

Didn’t enjoy our stay as much as previous one 2 years ago. Room needed some maintenance - safe not working , balcony door didn’t shut tightly or open fully( noisy and we weren’t able to enjoy the lovely outside space properly ) , rainwater shower lukewarm and using handheld one soaked bathroom area making it very slippery . Breakfast not as much hot food choices as last time but still nice. Completed comments sheet prior to departure, disappointed manager didn’t take a few minutes to speak to us .

Worthy guesthouse accommodation for anyone wanting tofeel spoilt…

We loved to location to the central town area and the stunning ocean views. The staff were really friendly and most accommodating. We really enjoyed the breakfast with a lovely selection of foods to choose from. We will definately return to this guest accommodation… a great experience!

I won’t think twice to book this place again

Worth the money spent and will definitely return again! The arrival with the staff - Lauren the receptionist waited until after 19:00 for our check in. The sea view is perfect and the location is perfect for moving around in town and going for a run

A very special place, highly recommend

We loved everything! stunning location directly over the bay and on the cliff path . Definitely worth getting a room at the front for the views, and the honeymoon suite and penthouse are beautifully appointed and in our opinion worth paying a bit extra for ! Easy and safe walk into town for great food and shopping. Very elegantly decorated in communal spaces, with several comfortable seating areas . Great choice for breakfast, all very fresh , and complimentary wine 5-7 each evening. Staff all very friendly and professional, advising us on restaurants and making bookings. it was our 30th anniversary and we received a complimentary bottle of champagne which was a lovely surprise. Particular thanks to Dominique who looked after us so well, with her very personal service and extra touches .

Best stay in Hernanus. Can’t go wrong

This is a smaller boutique hotel, so has an intimate and friendly feel. Immaculate with high quality linens and best beds in Africa. Location is ideal with sea views and a comfortable and safe walk to town and local restaurants. Breakfast was a feast custom cooked to our likes. Octavia in breakfast room was very helpful.

This is my second visit and still there is nothing to fault. Parking is secure and that is a big thing for me.
